Loved this one Finally, a game that is not just the same old thing. Several types of puzzles keep things interesting. The HOS are not just piles of rubble - they consist of finding particular objects, sometimes found in different locales, to enable you to do a puzzle or move to the next scene. And, you have the option of playing in three modes - casual, advanced, and expert. Expert is only unlocked after you have earned enough hint points. The graphics are great, (I never listen to the music scores), and the scenes make sense. The workroom looks like a workroom, for example. This is a buy for me! May 6, 2012
At Last I've been waiting for this game for a long time. Absolutely loved Tiger Eye - Part 1, loved the romance, which I'm not sure has survived in this game. I did not get very far into the game in the demo hour so cannot comment on the story line, but I found the game very challenging, which I like. There 3 levels of play, I played the middle level, the puzzles are very different but not too difficult, some people will not like this game because the graphics are not as fluid as in other games. Over all I enjoyed the demo and will purchase the game because I want to know what happens when (and if) Hari finds the Tiger. Note: This is not a normal HOG although there are many objects to find. Only for those who love to solve mini puzzles Since I bought Tiger Eye Curse of the Riddle Box I have really looked forward to the second game; there is a brief resume of the first game in the prologue & this can be played in isolation but you will miss the background to Dela & Hari?s story if you did not play the first one. Here you explore Dela?s hometown & try to find her friend who has been kidnapped & to free Hari from the influence of the riddle box, however the exploring is rather disjointed, there is not as much story with this game & it feels as though you are moving to different places simply to collect items & solve puzzles rather than following a logical process. The graphics are clear but the artwork is not as good as the first game & many scenes remind me of a junkpile H0G (Dela?s workshop for instance). There are 3 modes of play, casual with sparkles, advanced without & you start off with 6 hints in both; if you earn 20 hints in one of the easier modes it unlocks expert where the puzzles are harder & there is no hint or skip button. Extra hints are earned through the game so you are unlikely to run out. This is a game that concentrates on solving puzzles & these are excellent, numerous & varied ? there are some I have not played before. In addition occasionally Dela uses her physic power & it triggers a match 3. Each puzzle has 2 hints to help you solve them which is really helpful as I certainly could not solve them all without; if you still cannot get the answer then there is a skip button. There are hidden objects but they are not the usual word list; mostly you have to find a specific set of items to solve a puzzle or repair an item, etc. & you search for the items within the main scenes. All in all neither the story nor the artwork is as good as the first game & I miss the interaction between Dela & Hari as it is brief & sparse here. It is also rather short; it took me around 2-1/2 hours to finish, I would only recommend if you really like solving mini puzzles. May 6, 2012
Old TImey Fun Fun little puzzles - great for a lazy afternoon. Lots of little mini-games along with one find three or more of the same shape game until you turn all the pieces gold which you can play as long as you like. Yes, old school navigation (arrows) and graphics, but I entertained myself thoroughly. May 6, 2012
Worth a try! Not your usual HOG Based on the demo: Set in California, with a strong Asian theme in both the aesthetics, and the story, and involves magic and assassins. This will definitely appeal to people who are tired of the same old plot lines involving mansions and asylums. However, it won't appeal to everyone. Give the demo a try if you're unsure, it's worth the free hour at least. There are no traditional hidden object scenes, instead you find related items (for example: weapons, cards) scattered throughout the locations you pass through. The cut scenes use voice-overs and are frequent but brief (can be skipped). There are many puzzles, some similar to what's been done before, some quite unique. Each puzzle has clear instructions and 2 hints available after which they can be skipped. Hints charge up over time and are abundant. They reveal hidden objects, as well as offer excellent suggestions on what to do/where to go next. Graphically... looks a little like a photo scrapbook montage. Items can be tiny but usually look out of place. Related items are all in adjacent rooms, not too much wandering. The text fades out when there are no more at your current location. The graphical style does not appeal to me personally but the images are crisp and clear. 3 difficulty modes. 1. Sparkles 2. No sparkles 3. Advanced/hardcore. I played the middle one. The story/plot is well thought out and nicely paced. The level of challenge suits me, but of course, everyone is different. The demo took me 47 minutes, I always take my time with demos, watch all the cutscenes, never skip puzzles. I used around 3 hints in that time with maybe 16 or so still available. There is a compass that shows you all available exits. I did not see a map. The journal features an excellent to-do list. Give this a try if you enjoy adventure stories with a lot of puzzles, or oriental themes. It's been made with care. May 6, 2012
Not really a sequel to the first Tiger Eye game, but is ok I know the write up about the game doesn't say it's a sequel, but since the first Tiger Eye game was so great and ended with a "to be continued", we thought it might be. This was a good game and was fun, although didn't think it as good as the first one. However, that being said, the first one is over a couple years old, so maybe I should play that one again for a true comparison. Anyway, there are 3 different modes of play. You need to obtain 20 hint points to play in expert. There are a lot of mini games & puzzles. None of which have been very difficult. You also need to pick up random items to advance in the game. There are not true hidden object scenes, at least in the demo. The voice overs, graphics and sound are very good. There is not as much of a story line to follow as in the first game. This was a purchase for us, since we like puzzles and we truly hope we find out what happens to Dela & Hari at the end of this game. Try the demo and decide, but also try the demo for the original game. May 6, 2012
Not a sequel I think I will start a Hari Fan club and demand that he come back to us in full form, not just make cameo appearances in a game. That being said, the game itself isn't too bad condsidering what I expected from a sequel. Had this been a stand alone game, I probably would have enjoyed it better. I bought the prequel and since then I have been plagued with visions of Hari in my head. To my utter dismay, tragically Hari is not the star of this game. Actually there is no star, just puzzles. Note to developers: Seriously? What were you thinking? I really expected the same format and quality of graphics, character, story and gameplay not to mention HARI. Alas this game has none of these features. Instead it is riddled puzzles and min games so for puzzle fans out there, this will be right up your alley. In the meantime, you will have to ignore the really bad graphics, out dated and blurry, low level of challenge and a really weak storyline which frankly my dear, ( you know the rest)There are three mode of gameplay and I believe that in order to unlock hardcore, you need to get 20 hints first. Game mechanics are basically HOGs where you find items to unlock puzzles. I personally enjoy puzzles and I have to be honest, some I actually liked but the level of challenge just wansn't there. There are voice overs and you have a journal, a compass and hints. In addition, there are match games along the way which I expect might just motivate some to spend their pennies on this. So where do I stand on this game? I will recommend this game based on the puzzles BUT if you are expecting the sequel to RIDDLE BOX, you will be very dissapointed. Sadly, I think this is the end for HARI and Dela, they will however continue to live on and prosper only in my dreams! May 6, 2012
Ok Sequel I happened to love the first tiger eye and I couldn't wait for the second to come out, for me it was almost a year. Which is why I'm probably a little disappointed with the sequel, probably cause of the long wait I had high hopes it would be better than the first. But it was only ok, I like the first much better, the storyline seemed more thought out and detailed while this one seemed a little rushed, I actually finish much quicker than the first one, it was like the storyline was cut in half. The games though were very challegening (well depending on what level you choose you have three options but the third one doesn't unlock untill you have enough clues) I do wish there was a little more hidden object to find instead of all the puzzles but that was still fun too. All and all it was ok but I do like the first one much better and I feel like it had better replay value. But I would recommend the game if you would like to see how things turn out for Hari and Deliah. I also recommend the book tiger eye by marjorie m. liu it was really good and there is alot more backstory to both characters, its a really good read. May 6, 2012
Tiger Eye Part 2...sort of I'll start by saying the game play was fun; challenging without making me feel like I wanted to beat my head against a wall. The graphics were very good, as were the soundtrack and voice overs. I was disappointed with the story line, however. In the first game Marjorie Liu also wrote the script for the game. Part 2 had a different script writer who barely had any aspects of the book added into the game. That being said, if I was not so familiar with the book I probably would have thought that the game was just fine. As it is I was a bit let down after waiting nearly two years for this game. I'd give it 3.5 stars just for the disappointment factor. May 6, 2012
Not as good as the first I loved the first one and had been looking forward to this one for a long time, but unfortunately it just didn't live up to the first. The first one had a lot more story development, and the story was very good (seeing as how it's based on a book), but they really glossed over the story in the second half. It didn't even seem to pick up where the first one left off, unless I'm misremembering. Anyway, the game was still fun, but not as many puzzles and not as much story as the first one. May 6, 2012
