A few problems
While playing the demo I found that it did indeed crash on me about 4 times, which was a major deterent in not purchasing this game.
Now, besides that the game could be enjoyable. The graphics are great and the voice overs are fine. But with that said, they could have been a bit more inventive with the way they presented the storyline. The opening scene is great with the life like presentation. That ends when the characters are telling their part of the story. The voice over continues, which is nice, but the scene changes to a drawing with some type of character (ghost like) unanimated (like someone is just pushing the character) movement across the screen. This part of the game is very poorly done.
The HOs scenes are REALLY great. It's not the usual hunt and click type of HOs, it has a lot of interaction such as you have to, say, locate a cork and then locate the bottle to put it on. This was the most fun of all the HOs games I have played so far. The HOs are not that difficult. However, I did use the HINT just to see how long it took to recharge - very fast.
The puzzles are easy as well. During the demo there weren't that many.

Off the Charts! Fantastic Interactive Game!
This game takes the usual interactive game play and then builds up from there! This game will keep you busy and entertained for hours. I loved it! (I finished the whole game)
The graphics were awesome! I really loved the hidden object sparkles that looked more like Christmas lights.
Close to 90% of the objects in the hidden object games were interactive--and some of them required 2 or 3 actions before you could pick up the object! It makes it much more fun to play them!
The mini-games were somewhat unique and fun. I had to skip a couple of them but the rest I finished without help.
The length of the game seemed perfect. It wasn't too short. It took me 2 days to finish it.
The voiceovers were fantastic! They matched the characters and were easy to understand.
There was a lot of backtracking (which I love) but there was a map to skip to where you wanted to go.
If you get stuck, just push the hint button and it teleports you to the scene where you need to be doing something. If you still don't see what it is you are supposed to do, then hit the hint button again and it will show you specifically what to do in that scene. To me, that is the perfect amount of help--however much you need.
There is even some humor thrown in here and there to make you smile while you are playing.
Thank-you 2 Monkeys for making this game! Keep up the good work.
I HIGHLY recommend this game!

Impressive for a Regular Game (NOT CE)
I really enjoyed this game. While the storyline was pretty much the usual thing compared to other HO games, the puzzles, HO scenes and overall play was very good and worthy of CE status (of course there was no extra gameplay). The length of the game was a LOT longer than I expected and I actually got stuck a few times and looked at the walkthrough - something that I haven't done in a long time. Graphics were good, voiceovers ok (don't really care about this). Have fun!

Let Down, Disappointed & Frustrated are the words that came to mind as I completed the game.
This game had such potential! The story develops as you find a town of people frozen in time & they tell you what they were doing at the time that the lightning came & froze them. They give you clues at what needs to be done & the info is put into a diary. I have no idea of who I am in this game & why am I even in their little town trying to find a solution for them,??. and the confusion begins.
So much more could have been done in each of the areas that you visit which could have made this an awesome game. It seems like they only used each scene to stage a mini game or HOG scene but they failed to develop the story around each area.
The concept of having to do multiple tasks to complete an item in the HOG scenes was awesome, as were most of the graphics, but then in the very same scene, there were very small or hard to identify items, and I have good eye sight. And just wait until you see how you use a rose thorn. Confusing! When you struggle and work to solve a task over 8 or 10 scenes you expect fireworks not a sparkler that fizzles, pops & burns out and that?s how many of the tasks felt to me, like the story fizzled and popped but that?s all when the makings of a grand finale were there to work with. They showed us bits and scenes of greatness and I wanted MORE.
It almost seems as though 2 different people with vastly different skill levels worked on each area. The whole game seemed to go from very high, highs to very low, lows often within the same scene, which left me feeling un settled or confused about the game as a whole.
Several of the mini games seemed to have glitches (I was playing the updated version). There were 3-4 mini games that the step back arrow was so close to the cursor arrow that I kept exiting the scene by accident. One of those games, when I re-entered the mini game, it skipped right over the game, as if I had completed it. One of the pipe games gave me fireworks as completed but I had not finished rotating all the pipe pieces and my "finished" version did not look like the walk through showed. Too little instruction was given for some of the mini games. The whole game seemed to go back and forth between highs & lows and unfortunately with the ending they never even talk to the people once they are unfrozen which left me even more disappointed and let down...... and ultimately frustrated with the game.
The developers showed us that they were capable of greatness, instead of grasping that ring of greatness and developing the story and each scene more fully, they teased us & backed away from the greatness and instead they choose mediocrity and rough edges in their rush to complete the game. The greatness was there, so it is a shame that they let the greatness slip through their fingers like sand, and ultimately settled for mediocre.

Robotic, Unguided, Monkey Work
This is only the second game I've bought and quit playing because I was so bored with it and disliked it so much I wasn't playing at all. So, instead of avoided games I enjoy - I just quit this one and played a better one.
The scenes are robotic. 3/4 of the game is finding a collection of things to put together to make 1 thing, then finding out where it goes and places it.
The story is mysterious but the game is unguided. You're never really in pursuit of anyone or anything. You just wander aimless from clue to clue putting things together.
The graphics are beautiful and the game was well rendered.
Dreadfully slow and terribly dull

Fun variation of the standard hidden object game
This is as much an adventure (find inventory, use inventory) as it was hidden object game. The design and artwork were superbly done which added a lot to the game experience. Like others said, the hidden object scenes were almost always a combination of items (like snuffing out a candle, or putting keys back on the key ring).
Pros:
--Outstanding artwork
--Music was pretty good
--Storyline was engaging
--HO scenes were usually quite challenging, and it was nice to play a variation on the standard
--Mini games were a good mix of fun, challenging and easy - they're all very quick
--Decent game time
Cons:
--The thing that drove me crazy was that when moving from scene to scene, if you have to go through a door, you have to wait for the door to open in order to actually click to go through. It's one second maybe, but it was annoying.
-Couldn't click through voiceovers or scenes when done reading text
Overall, great game that I would definitely recommend to others.

loved (almost) everything about it!
Very quirky game design compared to the standard we've seen lately, but that just made it more enjoyable for me. Ran much better on my computer than a lot of games, no floating cursor or any technical problems after 1 hr trial and minimal translation bloopers. I do agree with the comments about the sound of the doors opening all the time and then having to click to go through being annoying, but that's minor. What's great about this game are the ingenious H0 scenes which combine some FROG and IHOG elements to really make you think, not just blindly look for their particular picture of a mushroom or whatever. (Having to pay for the gas to turn on the stove was a great one and totally unexpected.) Yes, the cut scenes are sketches, not live action or animated, but that gave an old-world, out of the past feeling that went nicely with the game. Love this one enough to pay full price. Now I just have to find another one to get the 2-fer. Absolutely recommend to anyone wanting something out of the ordinary without the usual death, dungeons and disease themes.

Excellent demo, I'm buying this one
As an experienced adventure/HO gamer I sometimes get tired of straight forward HOS but the twist on the HOS in this game was really good fun. The game flows smoothly in terms of the plot and the puzzles. Quite often I have nearly finished a game by the end of the demo but this game looks to have quite a bit more gameplay still so seems to be good value for money.

It was just OK.
My review is based on the demo. The graphics are beautifully drawn, and the v/o and music well done. But the story didn't grab me. There was a long set-up at the beginning, which I didn't find compelling. It didn't make me care about why the people were missing. It was mostly HOS, as opposed to more of a mix of HOS, task, and mini-puzzle, but if you like that you may enjoy it more than I did. There's a lot of backtracking, which I could deal with, but it was particularly annoying in this game because as you "walk" from place to place, the screen bobs up and down as if to imitate the movement of walking. Another technical issue for me is that when you mouse over a door with the cursor, the door keeps opening and slamming shut. Again, annoying. You meet various characters, but the action is one dimensional. The scenes are beautifully rendered, but sort of sterile looking. On the positive side, the HOS are interesting and interactive, and the game overall looks to be of good quality, so gamers who like games heavy on HOS and don't mind the visual and technical features that annoy me may give this game a higher rating.

And Now for Something New!
At first I was weary about this game as I noticed some odd things amiss about it. However after having played the demo, I have to say that I was suprised to discover that despite the many flaws, this was really one of the more challenging IHOGs that I have come across. I am a great fan of interactive HO scenes but in this game, the developers have managed to bring an interactive HOG to a whole new level of difficulty and in doing so, making the gameplay more interesting than I had initially anticipated. I really had to use the hint buttom during the HO scenes which I hardly never do. You really need to work out the logic to some of the items in these scenes. That being said, I cannot really give high marks to the visual and sound quality of the game. I was thrown off with the graphics which were blurry at times and a bit dated. Then there were hand drawn cut scenes which just made the entire game look old and incomplete. I did find the storyline a bit weak: there are no details given as to who you are and why you are actually there to help this town where everyone and everything have suddenly disappeared into thin air. You find yourself investigating and while you do so, you run into several characters that give you background information as to what happened. I also noticed that there was a space on the top right corner screen where a SG was suppose to be. It was omitted as was the task list that is found in the dairy. It is almost as if this game was initially meant to be a CE but someone thought otherwise. Nevertheless upon completeing the demo, I have to say that 1 Moment in Time challenged me a great deal, especially the HO scenes. There are two modes of game play along with custom cursor and voice overs. Game features a diary and thankfully a map which allows you to travel without having to backtrack all the time. Game mechanics involve Interactive HO scenes along with adventure and some puzzles along the way. I expect many will not like this game but for hard core adventure players like myself, this may just tickle those little grey cells as you really play on. I imagine that a walkthrough will be much appreciated as the SG has been omitted. This is by far not an excellent or even a great game but it does have those moments which I believe warrents a credit to spare. I actually enjoyed myself and do want to find out exactly what caused the disappearance of an entire town.
