good game, can be confusing
very good game. bonus at end was very fun and in a way slightly better than the main game.
i found the main game a bit confusing at times and got lost. the hints where brilliant as it showed you exactly where you had to go and do there.
the game was a bit repetitive and at times i couldn't wait for bits to be over. the game was a bit predictable but most hidden object games are.
the puzzles were quite challenging at times. the hidden object scenes were fun but i didnt like having to click on piles to move the object away. some items i didn't have a clue what they were so i had to use a hint. the level i played on the hint recharged very quickly.
overall, the game is fun to play and i enjoyed it. im glad i bought the collectors edition. sorry if my explanation of things is poor but this is my first review :)

Another Hit!
I've been a fan of all of the Echoes of the Past series. This one is the best, by far. Tons of puzzles, good story line and long play. one note of caution. When you chose the level of difficulty, it stays that way for the whole game. You can't change it if it's too hard for you unless you start over with a different user name. I always use the "hardcore" difficulty and some of the puzzles really taxed my patience! The extra game is great, too. Nice, long play and good puzzles. All in all, a great game!

Great game - but oh, those repeating puzzles...
I thoroughly enjoyed this - lovely graphics, nice gameplay and nice adventure elements.
But oh, those repeating puzzles. I didn't like the "lighting up the bulbs" on the first box, and I got really tired of them by the end of the game.
There were some lovely puzzies of other types, and the adventure elements of the game were very good indeed - I don't like it when it's too obvious.
Shame I couldn't give it five stars, but oh, those repeating puzzles...

SE game would be worth the money
I wouldn't however put out the money for the bonus content as it needs updates to work. I enjoyed the First part of the game and did encounter duplicate puzzles with the same solution but it wasn't easily memorized so I had to "RE" figure out the puzzle. The story line is kind of lame but I am not someone who really cares about the story line to make a game enjoyable.
I would play this one again but not anytime soon. If you buy make sure you get the SE.

Very enjoyable!!
I have liked all the games in this series but I think this was my favorite. The graphics and storyline were very good. The puzzles were just right in that I didnt have to spend forever trying to solve them but they were not boring either. The only thing I didnt like was the bonus game play on the CE. I was very disappointed in the puzzles. It was the same puzzle over and over, just in a different color.

Bonus Chapter Was Just OK.
Most of the time I think 'bonus chapters' are a waste, unless it gives you a lot of extras during the game, not just at the end. This game was a lot of fun to play. I had a hard time stopping so I could get things done around the house. However, once I got to the bonus chapter, it wasn't so much fun. The reason for me, is that the last eight or so puzzles it has to complete the game were all the same and very frustrating. I skipped all of them (eventually). I tried to complete just one, but became too impatient. If they would've been like dominos puzzles in the main game, I would've given it five stars. The ending to me wasn't so rewarding, so all in all, I wish I would've waited for the SE. (The reason I recommend this game, is that some people do not like waiting around for the SE game. Either way, the game is fun.)

The best this year!
In casual mode the HOS are simple but the puzzles are mind challanges. No need for SG as the hints are very specific. This is the best game I have played out of 100!

Echoes of the Past: The Revenge of the Witch Coll Ed.
Based on the Demo only.....
I play the demo to and MOST EVERY game that comes out, and one thing I have noticed in common lately is most of the games are PROGRESSING. They are getting bigger and badder. A perfect example of this is The Grim Tales Series. When you dish out good money for a collect. edition....You hope for more than addl. gameplay. Just look at how many addl. features Eleph. games gives you in their COLL ED. 3 SCREEN SAVERS, Rewatchable movies etc. In this game, you wouln't even WANT to rewatch the movies.
PERSONALLY i LIKE TO SEE SCREENSAVERS AND WILL BUY THEY COLL. THAT HAVE THEM THAT YOU CAN KEEP ONCE THE GAME UNINSTALLS. And developers....none of us cares for the CONCEPT ART that I know of.... so drop that.
ANYWAY.... The last installment of this game, Citadels of Time (I bought and played the whole coll ed.# That game was pretty good. It followed a clever storyline similiar to Redemption Cemetary-The Raven #which is still untouched, lets face it... other than the Reincarnation's series)
But this game was lacking on all fronts. It had the SAME MUSIC. The cutscenes BARELY moved and in this day and age.... The graphics were lacking too, with all the goreous graphics, look at Mystery case Files- Escape from Ravenherst to see perfect graphics...
They EVEN KEPT THE WITCH AND the storyline the same , come on, times are changing. The LAST, CITADELS OF TIME- Echos of the Past was definetley the best of this series.

It was okay
I really didn't care much for this game. The puzzles got boring VERY fast. It was the same thing over and over and over again. I won't buy this series again.

Same Name Same game
I have all the "EOTP" games, this one doesnt seem any different really. I liked the storyline, the music is the same in every game so i ignored it. HOG pretty easy, Challenges were ok. I only had to use the SG to understand one puzzle then i got it after that. I Used Hardcore, got through it with about 10 min.s to spare. Prob. will buy it eventually, but i think i can wait for the reg. version. Lately the CE dont seem to carry much of any extras that are worth anything.
