Awesome!!!!! Wow! This Surface game was soooo much better than the first one! Loved it! Graphics are fantastic, VO are really great, and level of challenge for minigames was outstanding! New and different minigames - had to skip a few, but will go back to play them again. HOS were not too much of a challenge, but it was kind of refreshing to be able to find everything so fast! You get to collect flowers to spend in the store, to furnish and decorate your "office"; and for once, the devs continued the flower collection in the bonus game, which I absolutely loved. I hate it when you collect morphing objects, etc., and there's no chance to continue that in the bonus game. Story line was awesome; you are a psychic who delves into the mind of a young who may or may not have committed a crime, and you have to save her from her split personality. The cut scenes were well done, and the bonus game is a continuation of our story; and ends well - again, for once, it didn't feel like the devs just threw the ending in there. A very well thought out and put together game - well worth the money for the CE. July 29, 2012
WOW! I'm Split Between Great and Just Fantastic!!!! What a most engaging story that captured my imagination. This production was executed without a flaw. Should be considered as one of the blockbusters of the year. I was overwhelmed by the stunning art work. Pat yourself on the back for fabulous, creative and flawless game development. BF thanks for bringing us another great Elephant production. July 28, 2012
AMAZING GAME! What an incredably cool game! Fantastic graphics, love the "live people" that play the characters. The story line is compelling. Your going to be a psychic and you need to help a girl who is a Jane Doe. I'm not going to give the rest away. The mini games are great and the HOS are just right. Not too hard you can't find them and not too easy where they are glaringly obvious. This is a must play must buy game. You will not be disappointed. July 26, 2012
Gimmee MORE! This game is excellently presented and a really terrific play! My only complaint is that the demo is too short (joking). I recommend this game to anyone! July 26, 2012
Enjoyed it--good game! Played the full hour of the preview, and enjoyed it. Not as difficult as some of the other ones out there, but sometimes that's a good thing! HO scenes were clear, and items not too hard to locate. Will probably buy the SE when it's released. July 26, 2012
Lost expectations I tried the demo thinking "Well, this game looks enticing" only to soon realize it wasn't. It's a compendium of uninteresting HO Scenes and lots of odd actions pieced together without logic. In fact it's more a matter of guessing what the developers had in mind when concocting this game rather than using your ...yes, logic. Too many tasks are totally improbable even utterly ridiculous Just two examples: - use a quickly-made grappling hook to take down a bucket full of water that's hanging high up in a tree, then throw it on the girl ... to cure her fever... LOL - blast a hole in the hull of a 16th C ship with a cannon and.. a skull as cannonball; but you can't go inside the ship while, a few moments before, you were on the very deck of it ! The HO Scenes are cluttered but if you play on Casual, hints will solve all problems. You can also click at random without penalty. And as usual, the HOs are perfectly useless. I expected the puzzles/minigames to be exciting: I only played the first one: it's a low-level arcade game. That and the skull did it; I simply quit before the end of the trial period. A sneak peek at the SG didn't convince me to revise my judgement: the rest of the game is of like nature and, apart two or three, the puzzles are old classics. I didn't even like the graphics that much: they, too, are confused, with a profusion of colors and a heap of unnecessary details that mask the essential and strain the eyes. The intro is fine: a mixture of drawings and small movies with real people. Same thing for the cutscenes. The voice-over is good, too. The story starts off as a mystery that looks quite enthralling, but almost immediately turns into a sort of gloomyish fairy tale in which you act as a psychic. Not my cup of tea. I prefer true detective stories, even if there is a bit of supernatural in them. The CE offers many extras: a bonus chapter in addition to the 4 chapters of the core game, bonus minigames [but I only saw 3], achievements [some players love them] and a shop where you can buy furniture for your office after collecting so many flowers. All in all a weird adventure which could have been a good one had it been conceived and developed differently. July 26, 2012
INTERESTING BUT SIMPLISTIC NOT REALLY CHALLENGING ENOUGH FOR ME, BUT A GOOD GAME NEVERTHELESS, HINT BUTTON CAN GUIDE YOU NEARLY ALL THE WAY, AND THIS IS WHAT PUT ME OFF, BUT I'M SURE MANY OF YOU WILL LIKE IT, WORTH A TRIAL I'D SAY August 17, 2012
Best 2012 Game Great story and the game play was very different from other HO games. Loved it!! July 29, 2012
A MUST-BUY! The best game ever! I beta-tested this game and I couldn't wait for it to be released. I love this game! It has everything in it. It is the BEST game ever! Fantastic storyline, great puzzles, great graphics, fantastic actors, great music. It is a must-buy. What more can I say? Give it a try and see for yourself! July 26, 2012
Why didn't I wait for the SE? The previous Surface game was excellent - An inventive story, really imaginative puzzles, gorgeous environments, tricky inventory use, random H0 scenes, and everything else that goes into making a fun and challenging game. This game is a snoozefest. It's far too easy, there are far too many H0 scenes, inventory items are obvious and the collectibles sparkle! Except for a few new and very interesting puzzles, there is no challenge. You're just wandering through the story filling in the blanks. I don't think I'll be buying many more Elephant games.
