Sister's Secrecy:Arcanum Bloodlines CE
Knew this would be a good game when I saw who was behind it!
Good story line, well thought out, beautiful coloured graphics
I am a hidden objects fan - plenty of them and the puzzles not to hard, another one I will but on the shelf to play again - liked it so much

Gorgeous and fun
Most everything has been said by Nilosh's commentary. Art work was with great imagination and beautiful colourwork - i was blown away with the detail. I personally do not like live acting in these games and seeing the creativity out of many artisits imagination just enforces what can be done with a game. Chamber orchestration in background was appropriate. I was overjoyed when games -ERs the first i think- gave a choice of no black bar and skip on minigames in hard mode so I played this one originally on hard mode and it was bloody hard -which is wonderful for a change and challenge- but had to switch to advanced so i wouldn't have to refer to SG. Still snuck a peak once more. Only think i'm that good LOL. True - similar story, similar HO scenes & minigames but sometimes one has to appreciate what goes into the game and for me this one delivered. Matouks

not bad but not great
wanted to love this game, but too many tedious things that take away from the fun . For instance, if I have to use a tool to do something, let me just do it once. I hate having to use a shovel multiple times to dig a stupid hole, especially when it goes back to your inventory and you have to bring it out again each time.
Also, oh boy I get to collect coins to buy sketches of the game? Worthless. If I collect coins, I should be able to buy things that enhance the game or get me farther in it.
ABSOLUTELY loved the mystic-goth artwork of "Belle", that probably got my hopes too high for this game.
Still, decent length, decent HOG scenes, not enough puzzles and not enough challenge. On the fence if it's worth the CE price, maybe for beginners, not for experts.

FAB, FAB, AND FAB
I dont do that many reviews, but when you enjoy a game as I did this one, you just have to let people know. Loved all the fantasy and mystical creatures. Graphics were beautiful, and a good long game with some challenges. Totally loved it, give it a try......

Sister's Secrecy - Beautiful, haunting, well done
i was mesmerized by this game from the beginning. The graphics are astonishingly beautiful, which is a big selling point for me. Cutscenes are great. And this game had two "firsts" for me: i've never "loved" the music in any game before, but it is so well suited to every scene, & so haunting & memorable, it's just amazing; and, i'm actually using a screensaver and wallpaper from the game, which i've never done, but again, the art is so fine i couldn't help myself. This game offers a lot, beginning with a good, if not unique, story: you & your twin sister have an unknown past that has taunted you with visions and feelings while you grew up in an orphanage. Now your sis has disappeared & you are driven to find her. You journey into a weird and magical land full of many unexpected encounters. This HOPA gives you all the tools you need or want to move thru the adventure: 3 play modes; journal with tasks; awards & achievements; the extra of collecting coins to buy bonus items in "the store". HOscenes are interactive, and like in Phantasmat, you can opt to change to match 3 for the entire HOscene or just part of it. Minis/puzzles are good. I was immersed in this odd mystical world (with occult overtones, which may not appeal to some folks), intent on reaching my goal but taking my time moving from one amazingly well rendered scene to the next. The SG is there if needed, but i must say i didn't get much use out of it, as the game is not difficult. But it is loads of fun, filled with amazing scenery & quite well put together. I did note a bit of lag between some scenes, but all in all the game performed very well for me. I would highly recommend this one to any level of player who might have an interest in the genre. I have to go 5 stars 'cause i just loved the game, that's all. Give it a demo & have fun with this really nice one! Kudos to the devs!

Wait for SE
I agree with Fellini, I couldn't finish the demo. There's been too many family members in distress lately for me. I would like to see the game developers create games with more light and color.

Illogical
This may be the first game I actually purchased and have no desire to finish -- other than the need to finish every game at least once. I'm playing in the hardest mode, which does not even provide a hint to the task (i.e game doesn't tell you that you are missing a piece or that you need something "magic"). I like that aspect of it. A hard game should be hard and make me think. But the steps in this game are illogical. You can't do certain things out of order, and the order doesn't make sense. You have to go back to areas to pick up things the game would not let you pick up the first time around. It certainly runs longer than most games I've purchased, but that's because it is illogical. I did play the demo and do not think it is representative of how ridiculous some of the steps are later on in the game. This is the first time I've been prompted to write a bad review after I've purchased a game. Those who play these games in easier modes might find it appealing because the hints would solve some of the problems.

great potential but doesn't deliver
This game starts off really well. Great graphics, the story is set up nicely, and good voiceovers. I started off feeling really excited about it, then it took me on a meandering course of hidden object search, didn't follow through on developing the story, I forgot what I was trying to do, and felt like I was wasting my time.
Quite alot of hidden object scenes that were repeeated - same objects again and again, a complete no-no. I don't really go for puzzles that have me pulling my hair out, but these were ridiculously easy, kind of pointless really. The bonus play didn't seem to have a point to it, no story, no purpose that I could decipher.
It feels like a shame that the game had so much potential, it's almost as though the developers started off trying to make a great game, and then gave up.

Sisters Secrecy Collector's Edition
SPOILER
I started out really liking the game. I got to the place in the game where I gave the dragon his drink and he gave her the yellow chalk(magic). He also gave her a boat to go find her sister. This is where things fell apart. I also check the Strategy Guide a lot and there is a drawing of the sail that I am suppose to use the yellow chalk on. I did what I was suppose to do and there is nothing else to do. The hint keeps going back to the sail when there is nothing else to do. According to the Strategy I should go below the deck for a game but I just stay on the deck doing nothing. I thought that the hint would direct to the area to go below the deck but it keeps going to the sail so I am stuck! This is very discouraging. If that had not happened the game would be great. I would really like to hear from anyone that has played to game that could give me some ideas how get pass this area. I checked the Strategy for the drawing on the sail and mine actually looks better and my character will not let me do anything else. Any ideas would be very appreciated.
