Amazing Game! A must have!
Caught me from the beginning: cutscene shows the city infected by a virus. Two twins are hospitalized but only one survives. However, she disappeared, and she is the only key to the cure !
The configuration options already shows the excellent level of development. You can choose:
- Skip tutorial and help texts
- The speed of filling hint
- Display
- Quality (slower or faster computers)
- Three modes of play
Great graphics, nice sound, impressive atmosphere, many locations with plenty to do.
It has map and journal.
Good amount of HOS really interactive - each object found helps to find another.
Some mini games are not really challenging, like killing bees or rotate circles to make a figure. Others, despite known, are difficult, as to turn on light bulbs.
It has 8 chapters + bonus.
An immersive game that provides excellent enjoyment and entertainment! Highly recommended!

Tiebreaker--It's a Matter of What You Like--or Dislike-- in a Game.
Read the reviews--pros & cons & tried demo. Turned music volume off as too mind-boggling repetitious for me.
Can understand rave reviews based on game mechanics, however, I purchase a game based on my own preferences and the core of the game as I call it which, of course, slightly varies according to each game.
The plot is very good, yet, could not hold my interest and the game play moved too sluggish for me--meaning there's no "Wow! I gotta know what's happening next!" Also and more importantly, read reviews that game length is rather short for CE. Once I start a game, like to know there is plenty of time to really get in there and enjoy gaming. For example: currently playing "House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets" and "Our Worst Fears: Stained Skin" and the game lengths are quite right! Like a good novel, once I start, would like that it's difficult to put down! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Recommend you try! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Good adventure but get the SE...
A good adventure but falls short on puzzles. Storyline is fresh & intense; never boring. Tasks give solid challenge without being brain-twisting.
Voice acting is outstanding, best I've heard in ages & cutscenes are excellent. Graphics blend real-life photos & actors with digitization, giving a nearly perfect uniform art effect. I love this; other devs should take note.
Game's weakness is lack of real puzzles. The puzzles are mostly far too easy, e.g. collect 6 of this, or colour that red/blue as per diagram given, or insert coins, etc. Main game hos are amazing, though. The many lost real-puzzle opportunities left me feeling devs used puzzles as filler more than as core game content.
CE BONUS: huge disappointment.
Short @35 minutes, no new settings, weak story, no real puzzles at all; seems thrown together? Worse, despite main game highlight is clever Step-puzzle hos, Bonus has zero of these! Just same-old no-action junkpile hos we've already done in main game. And bonus graphics are too sharply realsitic, do not blend with main game's. Also, game is quite easy, no matter set on hardest mode, so SG is not really necessary IMHO.
Game is short @4 hours but good story so length is ok to me. Poor CE bonus content is not ok.
Definitely recommend SE as entertaining adventure. Do NOT recommend CE.

A bit easy!!
Overall, an ok game. Played the trial and purchased the full game based on the good ratings it'd already received. However, I am by no means an expert in these games but I did find it quite easy, even on the more advanced settings which I now choose for every game. Don't think the 'hint' button or 'strategy guide' was used once!!
It's just 'ok'......

Disappointment
At first I thought this was going to be a great game but after I wasted 2 credits on it I found out differently. I won't spoil it for other fishies but don't waste your money to find out nothing. HO scenes were dark and frustrating. The only good thing was that you got to customize your own options ex: how fast the hint button refreshes, etc.
Sorry guys, I didn't like this one at all.

A new story!
I have other games from this dev and really like them. This game has a different story line (finally!) and interesting. Like the ability to change more than just the sound and music and make the game more to my style (excellent job). My review is based on the mid level of play.
SG is a bit blurry and has way too much to read. You cannot blow up the picture in the SG to see something more closely. I did not care for how the SG walked you through every single step in the HOG. There is a list of items, I don't need the SG to tell me extactly what to find and how to use it (that's part of the game#. I wish the devs would decide where to put the SG and leave it there. Under the hint is the wrong place.
You go from real to computer generated people, which is okay. Would be nice if you use one or the other. The voice-overs are well done and appropriate to the story line.
HOGs are a bit junky but not difficult, but I do like how they are set up for play #a little different). Games not difficult and music isn't bad. Other than the HOGs and the pictures in the SG being blurry, the game actually has nice graphics and game play. I do like this game and will most likely purchase and yes, I was pulled in by the story, but because of the reviews regarding the SG not showing anything past chapter 2, I will wait to see if this gets fixed first.
Thanks for the reviews.

Sadly, I really didn't enjoy this game
I had such high hopes because of everyone else loving this game. I played the trial and did not like it very much. I thought the graphics were boring and the storyline was just "ok." I played on the hardest level of challenge via the adjustment settings at the start of the game. It just didn't excite me at all. I've also been playing these games for years.
Sorry, but I will be fishing for another game!!

Why get ecstatic over this game?
Sorry folks, but I really don't see why you should get ecstatic over this game.
Because you can customize it? OK, that's good; I played with no sparkles, etcetera, etcetera... but in the end, what's the big deal? The whole game is so linear that you can't go wrong, never, sprakles or no sparkles. All the objects are to be found within arm's reach... and in the most unlikely places at that. And if you need to dig something up, be sure to find a big, very big X marking the spot.
I have a fair amount of "willing suspension of disbelief" when it comes to playing casual games, but this one really beats them all.
OK, I very much liked the iHOS... they were really good in the main game, but... absolutely absent in the bonus game. Moreover, talking about the bonus game, the dev's use exactly the same scenes and throw in some new objects. So, nothing much to get excited about in the bonus game.
And, to top it all... the game was way, way, way too short for a CE.
At best, I would give this game, including the bonus chapter, a SE... which would more or less be fair for the customer.
No, even if I spent a few agreeable hours, playing this one, I cannot recommend it, certainly not as a CE.
Anyway, in this parade of ecstatic comments about this game, my voice will be lost like that of he who shouts in a desert. But that's OK, I have had my say. LOL

Too Short to be Sweet
Overall, I thought the game was alright, with a decent story line, less the ghosts, curses, etc..with good graphics and simple puzzles, if simple puzzles are your cuppa. My biggest disappointment was in how short the game was. I got the impression that the devs were trying to finish it up too quickly, so the next installment could be made. Not worth the investment as a CE. Maybe part 2 will be longer with a bit more to it?

Half good
This is a very good production with live actors and artistic rendering of real scenes. Too bad it was also supposed to be a game. The game part was poorly designed with some really dumb object usage and inconsistencies. The HOS were interesting, I thought. At least in the main game, they are all interactive - not so in the bonus chapter. Speaking of the bonus chapter, it is a prequel to the main story, and there are some inconsistencies. One really good thing is the customizing of difficulty - something that all games should adopt.
It's really too bad that this wasn't a better game after all that effort in production. I can't recommend this game, particularly at the CE price
