Seen Better I love the storyline, the graphics are good, the music a little annoying, there are too many cutscenes and there's too much "dead" time between scenes. I guess for someone who has more patience than me this game would be good June 25, 2012
To simple To many videos , a little outdated , few and very simple puzzles . The hidden objects system is very good June 26, 2012
Started out great...didn't end that way i was very excited about this game. couldn't wait to play it. it started out really great; sombre mood and graphics, even loved how it started to get dark as the "day" wore on, and began to rain. LOVE when programmers include atmosphere as another character(ie cold and snow in dire grove). unfortunately, in the end i was pretty disappointed. the puzzles in the beginning were quite challenging, then they got REALLY easy, then just seemed to disappear altogether. same with the use of "objects". like, oh, that door is locked, and look, there's a key in the drawer beside it. how convenient! :( this game had such potential, and i really wanted to love it. definitely not worth a ce price. maybe wait for the se if you must buy it. Infected. The good, the bad and the fence im sitting on! To be honest Im sitting on the fence with this one. As has been said in previous reviews there are some really nice touches, customising the game play to suit your ability is definatley one of them (although Im sure I played a game recently where that option was available, my memory fails me with the name of that game). I customised my settings, faster hints/skip time (which I didnt need, but it was nice to have the choice!)no sparkles and no black bar hints. HO scenes were interactive and actually helped you along in the game, not just thrown in for a filler. The atmosphere of the game is spot on, deserted almost derilect town, acting and voiveovers were very impressive. The story line is basically save the girl save the world (that sounds familiar, a cheerleader maybe! :p ). I was put off by a few things. When entering a new area/changing scene it seemed to take a long time compared to most games, also in some of the areas the graphics were very pixelated, especially in the park. All the way through the game I seemed to be getting a case of deja vu, I wasnt sure if it was the story line being very close to a lot of movies but I realised it was a game called Small town terrors: Livingston. Both games involved saving someone, viral outbreaks, deserted towns (Livingston did have some zombies which is always nice!) and most importantly collecting things, in Infected you collect coins to complete tasks and in Livingston it was health packs. A nice idea in both games, adds something a bit extra. There were no achievements, which I quite like and im getting used too in newer games. Im unsure of the effectiveness of the SG as I never used it. I found the game to be quite short and I am by no means a fast player, I completed the game and bonus chapter in under 5hrs. I also found some parts of the game, underused, for want of a better word. I like to go into apartments/schools etc and explore the areas, I found that in some places, you went in, completed one task, and moved on. I felt this was a waste of the developers hard work as these areas could have been explored more. All in all it was a pretty solid game with some nice new touches that other developers should take notice off. Particularly the combination of real actors and graphics mixed (im sure there is a very technical term for the effect but im just going settle for weired looking people!) . For me it was a bit too short for a CE but Im glad I gave it a whirl. I would recomend playing the trial as it might not float everyones boat. Enjoy :) June 25, 2012
Another wonderful game! Wow, a great game! The storyline is great, and the graphics are wonderful. The great thing about this game is that you can set it to custom difficulty - there is a casual or a difficult setting, but then you can make your own custom settings, to change how fast the hint recharges, the skip charges and also how much of a glint there is on areas of interest. Another great thing about this game is a new style of HOS - instead of the usual find an object, or move something to find a 'yellow' listing, this game needs you to find objects which then are put aside, and you need to use these objects to then enable you to find other objects. I found the HOS to be very challenging which was a nice change - I admit I had to use the hint a few times, and I was on the casual setting so the hint didn't take too long to recharge. I also found the puzzles to be quite challenging also, and the skip button charged quite fast (I skipped the puzzles as I wanted to have a good trial without running out of time) As with most CE games there is a set point for the demo to end, but I only had 2 minutes left of my 60 minutes, so I'm glad I did skip those puzzles! I will definitely be purchasing this one as soon as the SE comes out. June 25, 2012
Too Much Monochromatic The story line was ok (acutally could have been good) ...but I think the Developer relies too much on the use of Monochromatic (dark colors) to make the games challenging. However I find the use of monochromatic graphics a cheap way for them to try and make a game challenging (?) because you can't see items in HOS....however, it annoys the heck out of me...Instead of really offering better or newer HOS items, they just rehash--to save money and time of developing new graphics...This DOES not Meet my level of what should be in a GOOD Collectors Edition game...for Collectors games they should do better than this....Shame on developers!!!! Shame on me If I continued to buy rehashed monochromatic graphics at CE prices.... Get a grip folks.... June 30, 2012
Utterly despressing storyline The topic matter totally destroyed this game. What started as an enjoyable game became depressing at the end, purely from the storyline - and didnt take long to get there either, as was somewhat on the short side. Lovely graphics and voice-overs. Story flowed well but I had long waits between scenes. No bonus objects or achievements to earn - something i consider a must in CE games. Puzzles were easy, and hidden object games were interactive, which were enjoyable to play. Bonus game was the father's story and i completed it in 1/2 hr, which i don't consider long enough. I'd guess they've left this open for a sequel as the only real plot was to find the girl and solve the mystery of the virus. And perhaps also work out who the other man is - of which you get the girl but that's it. I wouldn't consider this game CE calibre, and have to say I don't recommend purely because you're left with a bad taste in your mouth at the end. June 28, 2012
What can I say... I read A LOT of the reviews and was completely into it! I'm sure I'm not the only reviewer posting about the "Custom Game Options", So I'll skip that part. It is GREAT, by the way. That's where it ends. I just really couldn't get into this one. I am one of the fishies that looks for the unique games to purchase. This one fell flat. The game does not hold your hand. You really need your thinking cap for this one. Last, but not least...Another game where it seems like you spend more time walking to different areas than actually playing. June 29, 2012
Nooooo, Demo's Over!! Interesting story concerning a virus, no ghosts or demons, excellent graphics, the new style HOS require that you find items and use them in order to find all objects, fairly easy puzzles so far, and yes, there is some back and forth, but that is to be expected since you are in an abandoned town and you are looking into a mystery! Enjoy. June 24, 2012
Not my Type of Game. Lasted only 12 minutes in the game. Not my cup of tea. Very poor instructions. Left hanging on what really to do. For others they might enjoy, but not for me. Try for yourself before you make that decision based on some else's taste. I just didn't care for it. June 24, 2012
