Good HOG with a twist After playing the demo, I found this to be an interesting game with a unque story line. The graphics are excellent, the hidden object scenes are clear, with the objects large enough to find. The music is unobstrusive and the game is mysterious without being goulish. I still have to make up my mind whether or not to buy the CE or wait for the SE, but either way, this game is definitely a buy for me. June 28, 2012
Covered the basics Graphics in this game were stunning, and catered for widescreen, but everything else was somewhat average. You had a choice of 3 levels to play in both main game and bonus chapter - my review is based on 'hard-core' level. Hidden object games were slightly interactive, with objects clear and easy to see. Puzzles were rediculously easy. There were no bonus objects to find or achievements to earn - something i like to see in a CE game. Also a lot of running back and forth between scenes which gets a little tedious. Hint button wasn't active, but strategy guide was easy to use and follow. Game length was okay - but would have thought it would have been longer as the game was quite large in size. Game story flowed well, but didn't have you wondering what came next. It also followed what seems to be the current trend of being somewhat depressing. Bonus chapter was a reasonable length, with a little extra task of using your 'senses' for some scenes. Whilst the main story is of 'her' view, the bonus chapter is 'his' story - which of course we already know the basis of from the main game, so felt a bit pointless. Whilst this game was enjoyable to play, and I would definitely recommend it - I would tend to lean towards the SE version instead. June 30, 2012
Very different and very good game I bought this game, played in the casual mode with music turned off. The hints were very generous. The story is different from the run of the mill games. It starts off sad, but has a happy ending. The HOG scenes are easy to find, a little more difficult as the game progresses. Many many different scenes and very well done. I liked the game, it was a nice change from what we are used to getting. The game is very long, so there are hours and hours of play. June 29, 2012
Decent game, just not overwhelmed Demo only review. Not commenting on story since I skipped all cutscenes. Adventure graphics are fine, nothing spectacular but nothing too awful. The animated dog at the beginning creeped me out, it was so close to being realistic yet so very far. It looked ok, but the motions were all off, like something wearing a dog skin to throw you off guard. HOS graphics the standard 'painted' set of objects. I don't prefer this set because the realism is pretty low, which makes it harder to recognize things, so they are made out of proportion and bigger than they need to be to show the details. Clues were good, no bad translations or misnaming that I noticed. Puzzle play was good; beginning puzzles were easy, but I'd expect that. They were enjoyable types and didn't repeat yet. This game got a 4th star because it had a jump map, which is necessary in an adventure game and should be encouraged wherever possible, and no voiceovers, which are terrible and should be discouraged. Or at least, if you must have voiceovers, an option to silence or disable them should be included. I guess some people actually like them. :) There was nothing truly bad about the game, but I didn't find it spectacular either. Better than the recent average, definitely. Would probably buy the SE. Lots of fun for your dollar! It's a very long game, lots of puzzles, hard ones, good graphics, old style, not too modern, but a good gothic story. It was worth the money ! Some problems with the arrow, and grabbing things, but it was not major.... July 3, 2012
Great Game playing and Fun. I enjoyed playing this game, story is interesting , graphics are great, will buy. June 30, 2012
Was sad when my hour trial was up! I enjoyed this game! I would have rated it higher but it was challenging enough I didn't get very far in the trial hour! That was great. I will definitly buy this game. Wish there was a selection between Intermediate and expert. June 29, 2012
Now I want to buy it Well I finished with the free part and it was really good. So now I guess I'll have to buy it because I wasn't ready to stop. It was getting so interesting. July 4, 2012
hidden object fun house a must keep game, please keep it up. June 28, 2012
Great game! It was such a great game overall that I'll only tell the cons: - the usage of several similar items in the Hidden Object scenes, for example two locomotives, two binoculars... My cursor froze just because I thought the game had a glitch when it was just bad scene planning. - some of the objects were reeeally hard to see and find due to the similar colour with the background and/or being actually too hidden behind another object Other than that I can recommend it! Great puzzles, awesome visual quality and so on. October 25, 2012
