Wonderful After the demo, I definitely want to purchase this game. It really pulled my heartstrings. I'll just have to save that dog! I can't wait to play the full game. June 30, 2012
Best game in a while There have been some real good games lately, but this one is the best I've played in a while. Definitely a buy! The story is about the family dog being taken away by wild, evil dogs. Of course, you've got to find the pooch. I was impressed by the graphics, the snow scenes are awesome. Good cutscenes and the characters look kinda cute. A good mix of HOS and mini games. HOS were fair and not that difficult and the mini games aren't that difficult either. This is just a real fun game. Good map and 3 levels of difficulty. Hints recharge fairly quickly. The game does play widescreen, regardless of what one reviewer said. It's obvious when game play begins, just give it a minute or two. Good length too. Good job developers and BFG. June 29, 2012
Incredible Game This game has everything: good storyline, good graphics and audio, different types of puzzles to solve, not just HOS. The puzzles range from moderately challenging to difficult. For me, the story is very important, and this game did not disappoint. Strange, large dogs have been attacking people near your town, and then they kidnap your dog, in front of your children. You set out to rescue your dog, and end up being an investigator. The Strategy Guide is a good one, with pictures and instructions. The map, not so helpful, until you get farther into the game. Hints are usually helpful, but not always. There is a journal which is interesting, and not intrusive. i.e. it's not one of those that pops up unexpectedly. You choose when- or even if- you read it. EXCELLENT GAME This is an excellent HO Game. I have purchased over 300 games from Big Fish and this one ranks up there with the best of them. I would definitely recomment this game to everyone. I could not stop playing this game until the finish and thoroughly enjoyed each and every minute of play. Great job writers! Keep up the good work and bring us some more great games soon! Covered the basics Graphics in this game were stunning, and catered for widescreen, but everything else was somewhat average. You had a choice of 3 levels to play in both main game and bonus chapter - my review is based on 'hard-core' level. Hidden object games were slightly interactive, with objects clear and easy to see. Puzzles were rediculously easy. There were no bonus objects to find or achievements to earn - something i like to see in a CE game. Also a lot of running back and forth between scenes which gets a little tedious. Hint button wasn't active, but strategy guide was easy to use and follow. Game length was okay - but would have thought it would have been longer as the game was quite large in size. Game story flowed well, but didn't have you wondering what came next. It also followed what seems to be the current trend of being somewhat depressing. Bonus chapter was a reasonable length, with a little extra task of using your 'senses' for some scenes. Whilst the main story is of 'her' view, the bonus chapter is 'his' story - which of course we already know the basis of from the main game, so felt a bit pointless. Whilst this game was enjoyable to play, and I would definitely recommend it - I would tend to lean towards the SE version instead. June 30, 2012
Loved it! This was such a fun HO game! Enjoyable storyline and mid-level challenge. Awesome! July 4, 2012
Very different and very good game I bought this game, played in the casual mode with music turned off. The hints were very generous. The story is different from the run of the mill games. It starts off sad, but has a happy ending. The HOG scenes are easy to find, a little more difficult as the game progresses. Many many different scenes and very well done. I liked the game, it was a nice change from what we are used to getting. The game is very long, so there are hours and hours of play. June 29, 2012
Wish it was better, doggone it! Just finished the demo & because the game involves dogs, i'm wishing i loved it, but so far i'm only hoping to love it later. The story begins in a town full of dog lovers who are in a quandary over a pack of canine type beings that have been attacking, stalking, killing, & even puppy-napping, for reasons we must learn. It isn't presenting as gory or Dark & Eerie; more of a mystery adventure so far. The intro involves a human & said canine types that are cartoony, and not even good cartoony. Thankfully, upon entering the game the graphics were pretty nice, even tho characters appear to remain on the primordial edge of game graphics, giving it a dated look. I haven't noticed much as far as atmospheric sound fx, & music isn't intrusive. The HOscenes are minimally interactive & not difficult. I've only caught a couple of puzzles thus far, easy also. Typical 3 modes of play, hint, journal, & a map that takes you there. Haven't had to check out the SG yet, as gameplay hasn't been tough so far. I'm intrigued to know what these "dog like creatures" are & how they are being manipulated to do their dastardly deeds. But, tho' it seems like it probably provides some decent entertainment, Fierce Tales is coming across as too average compared to some of the amazing games that have come around lately, so i'm passing on the CE, & will check out reviews by folks who finish the game. Then maybe the SE. June 28, 2012
Decent game, just not overwhelmed Demo only review. Not commenting on story since I skipped all cutscenes. Adventure graphics are fine, nothing spectacular but nothing too awful. The animated dog at the beginning creeped me out, it was so close to being realistic yet so very far. It looked ok, but the motions were all off, like something wearing a dog skin to throw you off guard. HOS graphics the standard 'painted' set of objects. I don't prefer this set because the realism is pretty low, which makes it harder to recognize things, so they are made out of proportion and bigger than they need to be to show the details. Clues were good, no bad translations or misnaming that I noticed. Puzzle play was good; beginning puzzles were easy, but I'd expect that. They were enjoyable types and didn't repeat yet. This game got a 4th star because it had a jump map, which is necessary in an adventure game and should be encouraged wherever possible, and no voiceovers, which are terrible and should be discouraged. Or at least, if you must have voiceovers, an option to silence or disable them should be included. I guess some people actually like them. :) There was nothing truly bad about the game, but I didn't find it spectacular either. Better than the recent average, definitely. Would probably buy the SE. zzzzzzzzzzzz this was 1.2 gb's of boring! glad I got it as a free collectors last week, because I would have been upset to spend money on it. I don't know why it got such high reviews. I should have listened to out back aussie , the review was spot on! graphics- poor music-blah. I played this game once could'nt wait to finish so I could delete it. Major disapointment! ps, the map is no help to those who like maps it just lets you jump to another locale it does'nt tell if there's something to do. It did have nice mini games, just to few of them. July 4, 2012
