Rite of Passage: The Perfect Show
nice for a try
it is a quite long game for a SE. The storyline is fine, you need to find the missing kids. There were sometimes that I didn't know what to do next, and the hint was helpful.

Yep this was a great game, Graphics were excellent, storyline was very good, the music was nice to listen too and the Puzzles were clever. It took quite a while to complete this game and I enjoyed every minute. I would be quite likely to buy more games from this series when they come along.

Above average, but disappointing; the next game in the series, Child of the Forest, is much better
The Perfect Show is a fun game and above average, but its current 4.5 rating and strong sequel had my expectations sky high, so I was let down.
The next game in this series, Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest is one of the most well-made HOPAs I've played. From the interface to the minigames to the animations, the design is thoughtful and attractive and high quality. So I don't want to badmouth these developers. They went on to make a really impressive game after this one. But The Perfect Show was disappointing.
Several of the Hidden Object scenes in this game looked pasted together from stock photos. Not all of them, but this is a major pet peeve for me. I think a Hidden Object game should have appealing Hidden Object scenes.
It was particularly jarring because most of the settings and characters are well illustrated, and the puzzles look good. But then a low quality HO scene would take me out of the story. The plot is a very typical HOPA missing persons mystery which has basically the same explanation behind it as the last three HOPA games I played.
The minigames are a little more original and challenging than most, but not too difficult for casual gaming. I did find it irritating, though, that puzzle instructions consisted of diagrams and one or two words rather than written instructions, which meant that sometimes figuring out how a minigame worked was tougher than actually solving it.
The era of the story was hard to get a sense for; the villain drives an old-fashioned car and there are rotary telephones around, but modern items appear in the HO scenes. That lack of clarity added to the feeling of carelessness created by the subpar HO scenes. There's also no map, but I didn't miss it.
I'd recommend playing the demo and deciding if this game meets your expectations before buying. And I do recommend the sequel highly.

It is a long game with lots of things to do. An unusual story.
Not too difficult. Especially if you cheat a bit with the hints.
The graphics were excellent as well as the sound.
I think most players will enjoy it.

The Story is the Game with Excellent Artwork
Initially was not too keen on story line involving abducted small children. Thinking Developers could have selected some other ideas, however, since I purchased the game a while ago and recently had a chance to play, decided to leave a more positive review.
Game was fast moving which I prefer, also creative and held my interest. Gameplay for me was about 6 hours, however, I take my time, enjoy the artwork and listen/read every conversation. Hidden objects were on the smaller side.
Mini-puzzles and cut-scenes were very well done as was the artwork and graphics. What was obvious to this gamer is that a lot of work and talent went into the game--thus making it "The Perfect Show" indeed.
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

This game keeps you interested, the different kind of puzzles and trying to find that mask in every scene.Takes the ordinary to a new level...longer than I expected for a se game which is few and far between these days.Worth the money and especailly the price of the week!

Try the trial first
So I found this game to be a little on the boring side. It has a good plot line but nothing we?ve never seen before. There is a lot of back tracking. The game took me around 5 hours total game play time so it?s a pretty good length. I just could not get into this one at all so I suggest you try the trial before buying. Hope this helps and good luck all.

Could Have Been Better
This would have been a buy for me, except for the long time it takes for Hints and Skips to fill up.
I recently purchased a different game where you are allowed to custom set the recharge lengths. This is something I'd like to see with every game in the future.
With this one, the Hidden Object Scenes are too muddled for my taste, and waiting around for Hints to refill is not my idea of fun.
The mini-games employed diagrams to explain what needed to be done, which wasn't enough instruction for me, in some cases. And again, sitting there waiting for the Skip to fill is not enjoyable.
Were it not for the excessive wait times, I would have bought this one, for sure. There are a lot of cool things about it.
Developers, please treat the players like adults and let us determine how we want to use Hints and Skips.

SO BORING I QUIT 3/4 THRU
I really tried to like this game but in all honesty, I found it so boring that I just couldn't finish it. The music alone will lull you into a state of drowsiness and then the story line will put you to sleep. The graphics are dull, dull, dull. The voice overs were hilarious due to their poor quality, unless you like everything stated in a monotone. Only one puzzle posed a slight challenge to me, but by that point, I really didn't care enough about the game to work on it very long. There was a LOT of running backwards to either retrieve or use items, which I absolutely found annoying. I like a game that draws me into it's "life" and keeps me moving along because I just have to see what's around the next "corner." This is not one of those games. It felt like a job to me; a job I didn't bother to complete.

Not for Me
Before playing a game, I now read the reviews. So I just can't see why anyone would recommend this game. Its alright for a beginner, but I didn't care for the graphics, going back and forth to the same location, or even the storyline. I deleted with three minutes left on my demo. Just not what I would have expected after reading the reviews. Maybe I was playing a different game?
