Has anyone noticed ... ..that the games done from TV shows don't seem be as exciting as the shows? This one is no different except that, for me, it's the worst of the lot. There are two scenarios; you choose which one you want to play first. I picked the lost toy one. The colors were dark, with a purple cast to them. The people were like cut-outs on a stick moving in and out of the scenes. There are no voice-overs; you have to read the dialogue at the bottom of the screen and the conversation goes one and on. You could not navigate anywhere without the map to click on. Some of the puzzles were so tiny it took forever to finish them. (matching pills) and the other one I found I finished but nothing happened so I fiddled around with it for a while longer and then just skipped it to get it over with. The story was lost on me and failed to keep my interest. Casual and expert mode, a large inventory, a what-to-do list, a hint and a skip. A penalty for over-clicking in HO scenes. It made me wonder if anyone played this game at all before they released it. July 8, 2012
Far From Wowed Me - The Demo Time Was All I Could Cope Of This There are 2 episodes. The first being "Forgotten Toys" which must be completed first as the episode "A Brush With Death" is locked until you play the first episode. There is no widescreen so depending on your computer if you don't want "black bars" may have to change your resolution settings which I had to do to get the game to fill the screen. No voice over The graphics are a cartoon cardboard cutout type style. 2 play modes - Casual and Expert. Casual takes about 30 seconds and there are sparkles. Expert takes about a minute and no sparkles. I played in Expert mode. HOS (hidden object scenes): Found by word list. Brings up a box in the center of your screen. You will also see occasional ghostly images. Sometimes one of the words in the list is hidden behind fog, and when you click on the ghost, it will be revealed quicker. If you have no hidden words to reveal, you can also use the ghostly image to refill the hint if you have just used it. I also came across find so many of an item. There are puzzles and the skip takes about a minute. Map: You do need the map to travel back/forth as you can't get anywhere without it. At the bottom of the screen above the inventory is a "clues" list that will tell you exactly what you should do next. My overall impression of the game: Well for starters no voice over for a SE version game usually doesn't bother me but do prefer it, I would think though for a game being based on a supposedly popular TV show would have well done voice over to it instead of these cartoon cardboard cutout looking characters that constantly pop in and out of the game with annoying text boxes that you have to click through. The reason I say "supposedly" is because I've never watched this TV show. I also couldn't get into the story. Made no sense to me. The HOS I didn't like how a box would be brought up and the HOS is in the center of the computer screen. Made me feel as I was playing in "window" mode. I wouldn't consider these what I played of this game Sanford & Son junkyard however this box set up made some of them really small and very dark areas. To my surprise only used a couple of hints. I also didn't care for the constant "hand holding" being told exactly what to do . I do like to try and figure out for myself. If I can't then yes I'll use the hint. The puzzles I only came across two: Create a picture by turning the knobs which I found annoying. I skipped this. A match up the pills which was easy and did that one. As for game length: Since there is no walk through for this game as of now and not sure there will be one so I have no way to gauge it to give you an idea even of how long the game is. I'm also not sure why the Big Fish here has this game listed under "adventure" as what I played of this seemed to be more HOP (hidden object puzzle) cause you do need the map as I mentioned. There is no "wandering around" and again at least what I've played of this. Sorry Big Fish and developer but the best I can do is 2 stars for this game. Definitely not one of the worst I've downloaded but I've downloaded much better than this. Sorry but I wouldn't purchase this as Catch of the Week or Daily Deal either. This far from wowed me! As always, definitely give it a whirl and decide for yourself. July 8, 2012
Awful Hidden Object Game Hints were not clear. Going back and forth on this game was good. It seemed it was trying to play out like the tv show. Could have done a little better or not at all. July 10, 2012
oh dear... totally dreadful, poor graphics, weak story, horrid hogs..just bad... July 9, 2012
I wanted to like this game! I love the series and really wanted to like this game but... While the graphics are pretty good and the soundtrack is ok, the storyline is lacking severely and the game interaction is poor at best. It would have been much better if they had used voiceovers particularly if they'd used the actual actors. Overall, it's a very poor game. August 8, 2012
Wanted to Like it, but..... This game just led me in circles over and over again. I deleted the trial without completing it. Sorry, but this one is a thumbs down for me. July 15, 2012
Badly done This game has poor graphics and a not-so-great storyline. It's modeled after the poorly done TV show about a woman who can see ghosts and tries to help them "go to the light." I was bored after only a few minutes. July 14, 2012
Ghost Whisperer Not explained well with what is going on. No explantion as to the hidden objects July 13, 2012
Very Very Childish I found this game very childish; ?OK I now just tried the hour trial? BUT it was Not Good at all I couldn?t understand the playability; when I came to your man's bed OMG every time I picked up a bottle of pills the inventory kept popping up as it didn?t have to because the place was counting down in the place itself July 10, 2012
Not the same! I was a fan of the TV show, but not this game. I was very disappointed. It is quite simple, too much talking and not enough action. The graphics are ok, but old school. and the story moves too slowly. HOGs are difficult to see and so are the ghosts that you need to find within the HOG. Games are very easy. Might be a nice game for a beginner, but not challenging for me personally. Thanks for the reviews. July 8, 2012
