5 Stars To The Standard Edition GAME SUMMARY & BONUS CONTENT REVIEW Redemption Cemetery With Adrenaline! Having witnessed a gangland shooting, you are grabbed and knocked out. You come to and discover you are being buried alive in ?Redemption Cemetery?. Escape is only possible by putting three lost souls to rest. We have a helpful raven to assist us, an ever-evolving figure in this series. As you?d expect from ERS, you have the highest quality hand drawn graphics, good sound, and smooth gameplay. There are two different types of HOs, list and the more complex silhouettes, where you must find one item before you can find another, until you finally get the inventory item you need. There are also dozens of tiny mini-games, rather than just a few hard ones. I liked this addition. You must keep your mind flexible, because you are never too long at any one thing. However, the game has none of the ?bling? usually expected of a CE game. No morphing objects or other collectibles, no achievements, even the raven is too solemn and silent to be a sidekick. Bonus Content Review *** The bonus game lasted just over an hour for me, and I don?t play quickly. Despite its short length, it covers a lot of ground. A brand new quest, all new locations, all new HOs and puzzles. And it really was kinda fun. Other than this we have the usual only. Strategy guide (not, in my opinion, needed), wallpapers, concept art, etc. I can only give this content a three, there?s just too little for the extra dollars. This a really great game and I highly recommend it ? as a standard edition. I am sorry I bought the CE, much as I love the game. April 20, 2013
Ghosts & Gangsters? Pretty Cool. Based on the demo: This game starts out like an old gangster movie, complete with Tommy guns, bad guys who sound like Jimmy Cagney/Public Enemy, and You as the poor sucker who witnessed the dirty rats pull off their crime of abducting the rich guy's daughter for ransom. As they're about to do you in, things take a turn, & your spooky adventure begins. Ok, i was hooked by this time. Cool live acting & voice got me first - old time gangsters is a fun change, regardless of whether they're alive or... . I like the adventure play with minimal HOscenes that are not typical - they involve finding objects to interact with other objects, which adds interest to the gameplay. Puzzle/minis are easy so far. Some inventory items combine with others for use when needed, & so far it seems like you dont have to wait forever before you utilize your tools. Graphics are quite decent, & music seems appropriate & unobtrusive. Needless to say, as a Redemption Cemetery game, you're moving into the ghostly realm to free souls & solve an injustice, & the game seems appropriately darkly atmospheric. You will be instructed to collect specific objects to help you thru the game, so watch for these. I liked the 1st R.C. game, but wasn't thrilled with the 2nd. Even with only demo time, i'm liking Grave Testimony, & appreciative of the devs recent moves toward highlighting adventure play more, & HOS less. Challenge level can be tweaked with 3 modes of play, but i don't think this is a tough game regardless of your skill level. It seems like a fun, entertaining game, good tho' not great, & i'll get it, but may wait for the SE unless further reviews convince me that the bonus play is necessary to the storyline. Seems like fun, so enjoy your gaming, folks! August 2, 2012
R Rated Opening scenes really grabbed my attention but know that this game is not for children. Although it is not graphic enough to make you jump out of your seat, it is not for the faint of heart. There is physical violence, and the narrator gives vivid descriptions of some of that violence, like saying that some people were buried alive. Narrator sounds pleasant enough; the actors' voices sound forced. Artwork depicts the gangster era of Al Capone and Bugsy Siegel, which I like, but the actors? wardrobes have a few too many modern touches. Puzzles were varied but very easy. The story seems well-crafted and if you don?t mind the disturbing scenes, it looks like a buy. But because the puzzles are not very challenging and there is little chance of not knowing what to do next are the reasons for me not giving this a 5-star rating like the prior 2 Cemetery Redemption games. Great Game, bit easy I am a fan of this series, loved the graphics but found the game easy and it ended too quickly for me. good for beginners or fans, I did purchase it and going to play it in hard mode now August 2, 2012
Excellent Game, WAY too short! Puzzles are too easy but the game is awesome! This game is stunning, unfortunately it was WAY too short! I was done with it in less than 5 hours (and I am a slow-ish player). To be fair, I have not played the bonus game yet. It just seems like, for a CE game, it was REALLY SHORT! Had it been longer, it would have been an easy 5 star! The story is just neat-oh! Also ***Here is a Biggie*** The puzzles are really not puzzling at all. That is unfortunate because the game is really amazing! I so wanted more! I usually play through most of the puzzles and skip a few if they are way too hard or don't make sense. All of these were super easy. None of them had me puzzled at all. I think a 10 year old could wiz through these. I really do love the game! The premise is awesome and the graphics are excellent! Even the voice overs are good! WOW! I want more, but .... it was over so quickly. :-( I would recommend this game, but maybe as a SE not a CE. ***Spoiler alert*** The shark is Super scary! Wanted to give it 5 stars but... Let's be clear: this is a really good game. It uses video with live actors to great effect, the puzzles are challenging but not too much so, what you have to do makes sense within the game. Some particular likes: the HOS where you had to find outlined objects with one leading to another. The change of scenes in the different sections. Loved some of the visuals on the pirate ship. BUT where the game failed the top notch for me was the music. The sound effects and voices were fine, but the music was repetitive, added nothing to the gameplay and was just plain irritating. ERS could do so much better here, especially as I have a feeling that I've heard exactly the same stuff before in other games of theirs. It seems such a shame they put a lot of effort into actors but neglected the music. Still, if you turn off the music, you still have a great game which is fun to play. The bonus chapter also impressed me as it was much longer than I expected. Highly recommended if you turn off the music. September 17, 2012
too easy...? I played the game in expert mode with my fingers crossed that I could figure out the games without the directions. Oh boy! please everyone, play the game this way....the games are overly simple and that's why it lost a rating star. some puzzles didn't even require to be moved. (eg. move one lever out of three and you completed the puzzle#. the other disappointment was the third soul. I found that chapter very short and uninteresting #on the ship) Good thing I had the bonus chapter! #2012) August 23, 2012
WHAT A HOOT! I really liked the stories. You can't beat gangsters, witch hunters with fake mustaches or a dead pirate. Graphics, VO & HOS were good. Some of the HOS's were "find what is this shape" & then you had to use it to find the next thing, My only negative criticism is that the puzzles were way, way too easy. So not challenging. Other than that, I liked this game & recommend it. It made me laugh in places, always a good thing. August 22, 2012
Excellent game--first one that's excited me in a long time This is the first game in a long time, a very long time, that I actually was excited about. After the demo, I raced to buy it. Great opening, great use of film and voice-overs. Clear graphics, logical game play, plenty of different challenges. The only minor comment I have is that sometimes the instructions on the puzzle games weren't clear--but luckily, the game had the "skip" option. And not only was it a great game--it actually was FOUR games! Three stories in the original game, then the bonus game. All of them were interesting. And all the graphics were top-notch. The hints were handled well. I enjoyed having the crow be of assistance. This is the first game in so long that I have played all the way through without switching to another game due to boredom or something else that didn't flow. I'm almost finished now, and can honestly say that this is one of the best games I've come across in a long time. August 21, 2012
My Fav hidden object games I liked the first one better, but this is good as well. The puzzles were not bad. I would recommend this game to others. August 23, 2012
