Excellent Sequel! Worth Buying the CE!
Awakening: The Skyward Castle Collector's Edition is a hidden object/adventure game that takes you back into the story of Princess Sophia, and the obstacles she must overcome to return to her home and people.
Let me say, I love this series of games. This game picks up right where the last one left off. There are achievements, as in the earlier games. The artwork and music are beautiful, the games are fun, and the story is quite engaging. The hidden object scenes are interactive on this one, and are very enjoyable. The puzzles are entertaining, but not difficult. The bonus content was fun, and I would say, worth the expense of getting the CE if you really like this game. There is also a series of one of the mini-games included to play.
I played on medium difficulty, and finished the main game in around 4 - 4 1/2 hours, which is lengthy for me. The bonus episode I completed in just over an hour.

EPIC CONCLUSION ???
I LOVED THE GAME. Its worth the high rating.. But the BONUS GAME, ( called the EPILOGUE on the screen) is only a sneak preveiw of the next episode and not the conclusion to the story as expected. SO WHY ARE WE PAYING COLLECTORS PRICE FOR IT!!!!

There"s No Place Like Home.
Finally, Sophia can come home and is able to defeat the evil wizard. The witch knew that Sophia would be the one to save her people. She still has her two little helpers, Ren the owl and her little pocket dragon, and they are quick to help her out when needed. Has to find items to turn those that have been turned to stone, because they are magical, back into a living person. The visuals are clean and crisp and beautifully colored. Sound is not over powering. Just the right amount in the backround. Ren actually speaks in this Awakening. Nice touch. Games and HOGs are challenging but not overly so to make you frustrated. The storyline flows from one scene into another very smoothly. I loved the first three Awakenings and am not disappointed with this one. A beautiful ending for a wonderful and beautiful game. Sophia is finally Home.

Boomzap does it again!
I have all the games in this series and play them over and over again. Its difficult to find superlatives to express what a great series it is and the final one doesn't disappoint. The mini games are great, the HO are not frustrating but not too easy. The graphics, colour, music is first rate. And I love the pocket dragon and the owl. I'm so sad its the end. Perhaps Boomzap will come up with another great series like this???

The wait is over!!
I have been waiting a long time for this game to come and I am not disappointed. I have all the others in this series. I didn't even bother to play the demo!
Excellent graphics, sound and story. first class BoomZap.

Other games better
I purchased this game without playing the demo based on how much I liked the other Awakening games. This one had too many things that annoyed me and I learned that just because you liked one chapter in a game series, you may not like subsequent one. You couldn't always interact with something until you interacted with something else first in a different area which created a LOT of going back and forth. That made me wander around wondering what I missed only to find out I was just in a room a few minutes ago and was unable to interact with the item I needed. That made the game feel like it took forever. I actually gave up towards the end because it was no fun going back and forth between 4 rooms for an hour! Many of the mini games were poorly explained. Some had a simple sentence (do A to get B), your actions with the game reflect the instructions, but the desired result is definitely not happening. Skipped through several of those. Try the demo before you buy if you played the other Awakening games and like them

Not the ending I was expecting
OK, let me start by saying that this is EXACTLY the sort of game I love, I have played the first 3 games all the way through and was looking forward to the last game and seeing how the story ended in this game......
That didn't happen.
Either its one of the worst endings I have ever seen (cliff-hanger) or there will be another game, there are several unanswered questions that leave you wanting more, something that should not happen in " this epic conclusion"
Having said that, if this was a game that you were expecting a sequel for, or the first in a series, it would be quite satisfying, the graphics are stunning and the characters are (for the most part) entertaining (I found one of them annoying and weird)
The game play is a little hit and miss, the HOG scenes are stunning, the mini games are, in the most part, enjoyable if not a little too easy (I personally HATED the "arrange the gems so they don?t appear twice in the same row or column and the "guess the pattern") But the biggest thing that bugged me was one of my pet hates, you are in a room one side of the map, to enable you to continue you need to interact with or retrieve another object, that object is the other end of the map, you have to cross the map, get the object then return to where you were in order to use it, this happens a lot and sometimes there doesn?t seem to be a valid reason why you would think about doing so.
Overall I enjoyed the game, have played it through twice (on medium difficulty and hard) and completed "epilogue", having said that, it was nowhere near as good as the first three. Even though this is the "final game" I would expect there to be another and would urge Boomzap to think carefully about what mini games they include and the game play (I don?t want to be going backwards and forwards so much)
If you are interested in this game I would either wait for the standard edition to come out or get it when the collectors edition is on offer, I don?t feel that the extras included in the CE warrant the extra money

Not as good as the previous one
I was so looking forward to playing this but after about an hour I realised it wasn't as good as its previous edition.
I just got bored.
The previous game was so humble and personable. I really got into the characters and got immersed into the storyline. This one however made me feel very cold towards it, almost as if the game had been developed too quickly.
Not that impressed unfortunately and very sorry to say.

Should have waited for SE
Have done all other Awakening of the series and was happy to see this. I really enjoyed the other 3 games. Was a little dissappointed with this one . The game became tedious, difficult at time with no logic as to where to go and what to do next and even though there were some new puzzles some were frustrating . .It was as if was just jumbled here and there. Most of it was great Perhaps the old saying "less is more" would have worked with the series instead of keep dragging it on. Wait for the SE. I know I should have.

This is NOT a conclusion!
Review based upon completion of the game plus epilogue with 36 achievements. Rating Bars are true for the main game - the epilogue would get 2 Stars overall, and 1 bar for Fun Factor and Storyline.
This is the supposed conclusion of Sophia's story. She went through three games to find her people, so it was time for the end. However...
The Good:
+ graphics much better than the third game
+ 43 achievements
+ 87 minigames that are mostly ridiculously easy
+ decent game length (main game: 5:56 hours and 3:06 for the second try)
+ well written strategy guide
The Neutral:
o some strange voices
o some minigames repetitive
The Bad:
- this is supposed to be a conclusion???
- one in a row and column minigames tedious
Bonus Game:
Is this some joke that I don't understand? In a game that is supposed to be, and I cannot stress this enough, a conclusion, the epilogue ends in a major cliffhanger!
The rest is 15 bonus nonograms - most of them can be solved in about 10 seconds, and about 5 wallpapers and concept art. I did not bother to listen to the soundtrack.
Bottom Line: The non-epilogue ending is the much more satisfying of the two - so avoid the CE!
