best game based on Pride and Prejudice ! I like Pride and Prejudice book very much and I like this game - graphics interesting and there are such entertaining moving effect - I would recommend to try it to all funs of this story. July 31, 2012
Jane must be turning in her grave I was unhappy with this game from the off because it loaded each scene so slowly, but I love the book, so I persevered. Then the Darcy men in conversation at the ball referred to the "cute" girls and my eyebrows lifted. Not in period, surely? The crunch came when one of the HOD scenes called for me to find the "Lighter" which turned out to be a Zippo with a regency lady painted on the front. That was all for me, I'm afraid. If you're going to base a game on a famous book, you need to stick more closely to the plot. July 26, 2012
Nice try, but NO. I'm a fan of Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice and I've played other games that have been based on that story...with that said, this is a better game based on the novel but still not a good game. The characters are prettier than the last game but the costumes are not the acurate time era, the story is very loosely based on the real novel and the graphics are highly ameturish. The game itself is boring and the items one has to find are difficult to see and you need to use the hints to find them after awhile. Just not good enough. July 25, 2012
Depends upon your level of patience Another book...oddly done. This one is a trade off on preferences. The graphics for the story are presented in comic strip form and people talking are on the screen surrounded by blackness instead of being in a "normal" setting. Now, if you can get past that, you get some lovely graphics for HO scenes and interactive scenes. You hunt for fragments of the items you need until you have all the parts, then they assemble themselves and go to your inventory. The rooms scroll from side to side although not all at the same pace. The living room moves quickly but the next room moves at a snail's pace. There are puzzles sandwiched among your search for pieces. The one with the balls of yarn is quite unique. The game has only one mode of play; you can choose your sound, cursor and whether or not to skip the tutorial. There are a great many pop-ups including ones that tell you you have clicked on something that is not useful. These do get to be annoying eventually. If you can get past the petty annoyances it is a really cute and challenging game. I finished the demo but probably won't buy because I don't really care for FROGs. I recommend you play the demo. Tedious, below average graphics, and way too much leading Did they dig this game up from 10 yrs ago or something? It's an insult to anyone who's played a few games, and to Jane Austen. Played 10 min of demo and that's all for me! You don't need hints, the areas in which to act are highlighted, you get a shadow of what you need to find. In sum there is no challenge and very crude graphics. Skip this one! July 25, 2012
Didn't Like At All Really disliked this one. Only played about 15 minutes, and that was enough. Had a terrible time finding the hidden objects--had to use the hint almost as soon as it recharged. Not for me... July 25, 2012
HO HUM Graphics were cartoon like. Game play was boring. This is definately not up to Bighfishgames standards. Deleted after only playing for 8 mins. July 25, 2012
Victorian England?!?! How could they get this wrong? In the Big Fish teaser/ad for this game it says that this is set in Victorian England. How did someone get this wrong? Jane Austen died 20 years before Victoria became Queen, so Pride & Prejudice could not possibly be set in Victorian England. In fact, it's set in the English Regency (which lasted from 1811 to 1820). The drawings for the game were beautiful and generally accurate to the time period. I like hand-drawn artwork in games, so this could have swayed me. However, I found the game play frustrating. The search & find silhouettes were hard to recognize, especially because the 'Parts' screen automatically disappeared from view. That meant I had to keep clicking on 'Parts,' then trying to find a piece from memory.. After 15 minutes, I'd had enough. If you want a good game based on a classic novel, try Murders in the Rue Morgue or The Great Gatsby. Both are far, far better than this one. August 21, 2012
Read the novel I knew something was off when the opening cut scene showed Netherfield for sale. Bingley rented the house and was worth 5 thousand a year. It also made me cringe when Darcy referred to Jane Bennet as "cute". Navigating was just awful with the side scrolling and some of the objects were very hard to see. Game play was slow and if you click on something that was obviously out of place, a window pops up saying you don't need it, making you go back a couple of minutes later to pick it up. Furthermore, the game kept on freezing. Huge disappointment after 13 minutes of the trial. Read the novel (or watch the movies) instead. Or better yet, have the devs actually read the novel before making a game. July 28, 2012
Not so good. I don't think it's the game as much as how it is presented. Played about 30 minutes and totally lost interest. Maybe the programers need to give this game a second and third look. Sorry BF not a good game. July 25, 2012
