Fantastic HOPA with A New Twist The opening scene was what made me buy the CE edition of this game, and for those who passed, definitely get the SE edition. This game offers unique features and game mechnics and as story line that you either will love or hate. The story begins with a viral plague that has erupted in a town. Patient zero tuns out to be twin siblings, one has has already succumbed to the virus whilst the other has survived. She carries the antidote and you are hired to find her but there is another mysterious character who is also after her. The plot is certainly different from the demons and ghosts that we have seen and I really did like the way these devlopers integrated real live film footages along with real people in the game. What really impressed me was the option menu which is unique and I believe will be the new trend in games. You are able to adjust game features to normal or advanced or customise all your settings including how fast you want your hint to recharge, your puzzles to be skipped and the amount of sparkles you want. Now that is just so cool , KUDOS to the developers. Game features also include great voice overs that are well acted out and I did like the music which added suspense to the gameplay. The Graphics were not as sharp as I wanted poorbut the complexities that were involved with the game mechanics made up for it. This game is an Adventure/HOG with unique HO scenes which I think will begin a new trend in the gaming community. HO scenes are ultra interactive whereby each item you find is used to find another object. Had the graphics been better, I would have certainly enjoyed playing them more but alas, due to poor visibility, some items were just impossible to find. There is a diary and a map that unfortunately is not interactive. You also have to collect gold coins along the way which you use to purchase some vital items during the game. The mini-games are complex, at least the ones that I did play and instructions are not so very clear. The SG is also different with too many colors, you will understand what I mean when you refer to it. Hard-core players will definitely enjoy this game and I think that despite the visuals, Infected offers a really unique gameplay which will appeal to those who are bored of standard HOGs. This game will definitely bring about a change with standard HOGs and I hope it does. July 28, 2012
Fun and Fantastic! This is a good game.I liked the storyline, it was new with fresh ideas. Music and graphics nice and the live videos in the cutscenes were great. I did find the game conuising at times, lost track of the little girl(just me?). Over all its a good game, supsensful and it kept my attention. Bought the ce and felt it worth the spend. Had to play it straight through to the end! I love a game that gives you customized control over difficulty settings, like glint, skip, hint recharge and sparkles. This one even gives you a variable slider for each of the above! Plus you can set the quality to suit the speed of your computer, and there are several separate sound settings, all with sliders. So far, so good. The graphics aren't bad, the sound quality is good (except for the very repetitious music#, and the live actors and voice-overs are well done. The puzzles are not overly challenging, but the HOS's are extremely interactive, which I loved. This is more of an adventure game with an HOS here and there. This game's real strength, however, is in the story. Kudos to the developer #Go gi Games) for actually writing a story, not just some sketchy outline to string people along through the puzzles. All the puzzles have to do with, and support, the story. It was so compelling I had to play right through to find out what happens. The only reason I didn't give this game five stars was because of the black-screen pauses between each and every scene. Sometimes nearly a minute long, that got a bit monotonous. I'd rather stare at the current scene until the next one is loaded than a black screen. This might not be an issue on faster computers, though. I highly recommend this one. April 30, 2013
My kind of game! I've played hundreds of HO games and I like the combination of puzzle-solving in your HO search, not just spot and click! Makes it more challenging to figure out what you're supposed to do. Not alot of back-tracking either. Graphics are terrific! Good storyline, keeps you interested. Puzzles weren't so hard they made you run for your walkthrough or skip button and just enough actions to complete per screen to keep you on your toes. More, please! July 30, 2012
Terrific! I haven't submitted a review lately, but I just had to review this game. It is absolutely awesome. The storyline is captivating. The fact they use real actors is excellent; making the game very realistic. The voice overs are great. Having to collect the gold coins added a new twist, as you need to "buy" certain items in order to continue with the game. The visual quality of the game is outstanding, and the level of challenge is good as well. I highly recommend this game to everyone July 29, 2012
Compelling I do not usually enjoy this genre, but the role and storyline are compelling. Hidden objects and mini games almost all make sense within the game, more than in comparable games. Sound creates dramatic urgency without the usual spookiness. Believable vocal actors add to dramatic urgency. Typos in the game aren't obtrusive. Like the options to tailor challenge for myself from the outset. For example, I get impatient, so setting the glimmer to brighten sooner suits me well. July 28, 2012
I was expecting so much more... I was expecting a deeper story line. It was kind of like, oh... that's it? The game was too short. I am just really disappointed. August 2, 2012
Awesome Game!!! This game was a must buy for me after 10 mins with the demo! Great graphics & storyline & cutscenes with real people. BFG Can you 'keep em coming?'!!!! July 28, 2012
Not for me I played the demo for 25 minutes and did not like it. The ho scenes has too much to do. It was boring to me. I did not care for the storyline. Its slow when you want to skip scenes. This game I think would be good for beginners. July 28, 2012
Twin Vaccine Anyone have trouble getting this game to run? My screen just pulses, never letting me even add my name. I sent an email to the tech guys. Sounds like you're all having such fun playing! August 9, 2012
