Outstanding!!! Well, I played and bought the CE, but I repeat: it is a game that really worth it! When is an excellent game like this, I like to play the bonus and have the SG! Help solve the mystery of the murder of three women! Excellent cutscenes, very convincing VO, appealing story, perfect graphics, great animation and soundtrack, gorgeous locations, colorful and neat in details. Three modes of play. Two kinds of HOS: find 10 of the same type (hammer, chains, etc, and some you have to assemble before) or objects by the shape (and also are interactive - finding an object, leads to another object). Mini games different from the usual, such as the Scarecrow, entertaining but not very challenging. Hint also different: instead of "fill", you will finding peacock feathers in the game, and each one is a hint. In addition you have to collect coins, with which you will buy tools at the shop, and, of course, the pages of the diary of the killer. A highly well developed game, with many many things to do. Will certainly holds your interest and curiosity! I had a great time! August 3, 2012
Fantastic Game Play! Another awesome HOPA from my favorite developers. I actually bought the CE edition and for those who passed, do not hesitate to get the SE. This is one of those games that offer you the great value along with a very entertaining gaming experience. Once again we have a mystery to solve where you are asked to investigate a series of deaths of young woman and find out who the killer is. There is a sinister family involved and a dark secret to uncover. Although I thought the graphics were good, resolution was off at times and cutscenes did tend to get blurry at times, nevertheless, I loved the artwork, sound effects and great voice-overs that brought life to our characters. The music feature is a wonderful surprise and I loved the fact that you have a selection of tunes from a jukebox and can change it throughout the game. This is a HOPA that offers you everything; heavy on the adventure, a variety of HO scenes that differ from the ones we usually play and many unique and fun puzzles/mini-games to solve. Game features and mechanics include a diary and a hint system where you can increase number of hints by finding fans hidden in the HO scenes. There are three modes of game play, and you collect coins that will buy you items and tools that you will need during gameplay. HO scenes are different from the standard HOGs and very interactive. You either find several of one paticular item or use one item on another to complete the scene. Overall, I quite enjoyed the gameplay, there was just enough challenge to get hooked and I also found the story intriguing. It was not the best we have seen from these developers, but it certainly gets 5 stars from me on the mechanics alone. August 3, 2012
Just as good as the first time I really like this game. This is the second time that it has been on BFG and it is as much fun as the first time I played it. I find it relaxing and not to much of a challenge. If you are looking for a fun, basic down to earth hidden object game then this is the one for you. You have to use the objects you find in order to find other objects which makes it a lot more interesting. The mini games are great fun. Altogether this is a must buy game. I highly recommend this game to anyone no matter what skill level they are on. August 3, 2012
Excellent puzzle/adventure murder mystery I found this game simply amazing. I was hooked from start to finish, as I love a good murder mystery. You play the detective who has to unmask the murderer of three women, in and around the grounds of the Conti mansion. There are great graphics, many locations and an absorbing storyline, as you constantly find yourself one step behind the murderer, who is keen on stopping you in your tracks. There are many unique and interesting puzzles, of varying levels of difficulty, some easier than others, but good enough for all players. The HO scenes are refreshingly different and you have to usually work out how to get/free some objects, so it presents you with a challenge, You do have to think how to use/combine some of the objects you find which adds to the satisfaction, unless you prefer to be spoonfed in which case try something different. But for the great majority of players this will be an excellent experience. My only regret is that I did not get the CE version. I want to see more of these type of games on the market, keep them coming ERS. December 27, 2012
A Game that is hard to stop playing I am still playing this. It is very hard to stop playing as it is very compelling and interesting. I am enjoying it as I play several games at one time. August 3, 2012
Hazy Days Under Italian Skies BASED ON COMPLETED CE GAME This game takes us to the Italian countryside and the estate of the wealthy CONTI family. It seems the maid has found a KILLER?S DIARY, and that 3 women have already been killed. The STORY continues as we work our way through each of the 3 Conti brothers? personal rooms in search of a MURDERER. But a lot is left unsaid, all is not what it seems, and the only EVIDENCE we find are CORPSES. Much is implied in this story, and it?s a good idea to check the NOTEBOOK regularly, or the tale just kind of runs off without you. But it is a GOOD STORY and well worth the bother. This game offers a GOOD BALANCE of HOS & PUZZLES, leaning more towards the puzzle side, but it is also VERY MUCH an ADVENTURE game. There are many things that must be found, fixed and unlocked by good old fashioned point-and-click. The HOS come in 3 types, MULTIPLES, PROGRESSIVE SILHOUETTES & INTERACTIVE LISTS. Each scene is visited twice. Within each HOS are 2 COLLECTIBLE FANS, these give you EXTRA HINTS. If you miss them the first time, they will still be there for the second visit. Also COLLECTIBLE are GOLD COINS, but you need these for items you must buy in GIOVANNI?S SHOP. If you?ve played the other Grim Facade games, you?ll recognise the family resemblance. I like that the store is more than a simple buying of a couple of items this time. Giovanni has a jukebox and a pinball machine which we?ll make good use of. As you?d expect, the GRAPHICS look GREAT, and can?t be faulted (unless you?re into photo realism I guess). The HOS are CLEAR and the OBJECTS cleverly but fairly hidden. The ATMOSPHERE of this game is SUPER. The AMBIENT SOUNDS plus the sunlit LOCATIONS give an excellent impression of lazy hot afternoons under an azure Italian sky. Some of the MUSIC is great, some less so. All of it becomes repetitious eventually. The ending is final enough, although you may be a bit confused by it. Motivation is not at all clear. This is partially answered by the CE BONUS CHAPTER, but not completely. So I don?t think that this is any less of a game, and I think it?s BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY. June 24, 2013
The Diary and the Maid is the way this is played.... Oh heavens this game should recieve a higher rating! ERS takes you outside the box in this adventure. The clues to the murders are in the diary and the conclusion of the story. I recommend the CE version since the bonus content definitly reveals the murderer. It was thrilling just like the other Grim Facade games. September 11, 2013
ENTERTAINING AND BEAUTIFUL From the opening scene outside the gates of the village to the deepest reaches of the exclusive villa, the artwork , animation, detail and audio effects were captivating. There was a lot of effort put in to creating the feeling of roaming through an old world estate looking for clues to who has been murdering the heirs and why. There were also some fun touches like a little pet dog that belonged to one of the murder victims who helps you to find your way to certain clues. I was also impressed with the extra game content that became unlocked after completing the main adventure. A continuation of the main adventure that helped to close the loose ends. It was very detailed and deep, very well planned and carefully constructed. I was pleasantly surprised. August 18, 2012
A Great Game !!! Very good storyline. Not to easy. Fun mini games. HOS are good and different. You need everything in the HOS to complete it. Happy gaming fishies......Verry good game. Bought it right away..... August 3, 2012
ERS to the rescue!! there is just something about the artwork from ers , I can't resist it . they have the best mini games. I have to admit I liked the first grim facade a bit better, but am so glad they gave this sequel. ERS might be a bit harder for the beginner cuz the hints are vague , you really have to work at them, which is what I look forward to in all thier games. A nice blend of HOGs, with shadows, inter active and junk piles. thank you ERS saving my credits for the next one! August 23, 2012
