A suprisingly good game ! It would be great if Big Fish would reveal the game developer in the marketing copy for each days new game. Those of us who play regularly know who the top developers are by now. I almost always buy the CE each week but I also always read the reviews first. The reviewers are very honest and I find the reviews generally helpful. However in the case of this game I think the reviewers have been overly critical. This game has alot of the content and features of the better CE games. Good solid story line, great graphics are just a few. I like the game content to be logical and I enjoyed how the things we were collecting had meaning during the game. (ie. helping the five girls, collecting the twelve keys, obtaining magic skills ). All of those actions tied into the ending and I find that rewarding. The biggest weakness I see in this game is the lack of voice overs. We are past the days when reading the story copy is exceptable. They could have used the usual diary or book if they did not want to do voice overs. Voice overs when done well do bring a personal touch and set the mood for a game. But while this game lacked that finess it did hit many other high notes. I enjoyed it very much and I do recommend this game. August 17, 2012
An ok game I can't say anything about the sound because I didn't have it on, but the graphics were great. I was able to see everything clearly. The rest of the game is ok. I think I might buy it just because it I rather liked playing it. I only played the demo but I thought she was an odd sort of bad witch, she never seems to do anything other than try to scare you. Absolutely Spellbinding I can't say enough good things about this game it has everything a great game should have. It has a great story, mind blowing graphics, great puzzles, great atmosphere and great game play. I really enjoyed every minute of this game and it was hard for me to stop playing and this is one I can honestly say I really hated to see end because I was having so much fun. The bonus chapter was really good as well and overall the game was a very good length and it had more twist and turns and surprises than I have ever seen. You are able to gain special abilities that will help you throughout the game with each ability you are able to unlock hidden areas, freeze things and so on. The graphics are beyond gorgeous it is really something to see the art work is so detailed in this game that a couple of times I just sat there staring at my screen and taking in all the beauty of the artwork. This developer knows exactly how to deliver a awesome game and I am so hoping we will see more from this developer they are simply amazing with their games. This is definitely one of the best that I have played this year. It was fun from start to finish and always surprising and really kept my interest from the start. This is one nobody should pass up it has it all and without a doubt it's absolutely spellbinding. August 19, 2012
No CE material This review is from the demo only because I won't buy it, at least not as a CE. These days a CE needs more than just some wallpapers and sketches. There is a lot of running back and forth right from the start. No map, not to talk about interactive. Not even a journal! I always turn the music down, so I can't comment on this. Here even the sound got on my nerves from the very beginning and I had to turn it really low. This owl is just awful. No hint system to talk of. Outside the HO-scenes the hint button is not really helpful, it even sort of led me astray one time. HO-scenes are okay, but for the "interactive" bits you just have to click on the sparkles and the item will be revealed. All in all, this game leaves a lot to be desired. August 17, 2012
confusing mess Really wasn't crazy about this game. I kind of couldn't wait for it to be over. The graphics were beautiful but very hard to figure out at times and inventory items didn't always seem to make sense where they ended up being used. I did like using the "special powers" but there was so much back and forth, back and forth that it just took a lot of the fun out of it and made it a bit aggravating. I wish there was a map. This game was only ok. August 23, 2012
Beautiful Game! Opening with Rimsky-Korsakov's "Night on Bare Mountain" is brilliant! The music sets the tone and promises a level of quality that I believe is met in the game. The graphics are beautiful. The items in the HOSs are in agreement with the time period of the story. A thoroughly pleasurable experience playing this game. August 18, 2012
Really good game I can unreservedly recommend this game. Three levels of gameplay mean you can set how easy or how difficult you want it to be. The plot is nothing novel (visit long-abandoned institution in order to foil evil plans of antagonist) but the storyline has enough of a twist on this basic theme to keep it interesting. There is a nice balance between puzzles and hidden object scenes, and the artwork is simply exquisite. If you're worried about occult themes or horrific imagery, don't be; the only really spooky/creepy image is that of the witch in her real form, but there isn't any blood, violence or gory images. Well worth the money for a Collector's Edition. Try the free hour first and see for yourself! August 17, 2012
Stolen Beauty-C.E what i like about this game is you have to play all of it untill you can play any extras. the graphics are nice they go with the style of the game.some one says it loads slow must be there pc.on mine its fine , theres plenty of H.O , theres quite hard mini games well i thought they where i just skiped them.this game if your good with games like this then wait till it come out with no extras but if you need lots of help then get this part where you get an extra game and help.am gettng this one.the ony think i found the graphics are a wee bit small.but i all ways say it knot up to me if you like it with all the extras then buy it.if knot then wait till it comes with out any extras the choice is up to you.please dont let otheres put you off with out trying it for your self. Interesting if uninspirering I've only played the first 19 minutes, and have bought it. The strategy guide is helpful, which is important to me. It didn't take a long time to load, that is usually more my computer's fault if it does load slowly. Voice overs would be nice, but, they are an extra luxury. I'd rather the game works well, than have VO's. Both cost money, I'd rather it spent on the game than bells and whistles. August 16, 2012
Top Evidence Develops Cumbersome Game Played the demo until I could get the little bear his drum. Didn't want to leave him without his toy. Would rather Beta-Test and leave feedback, however, as other reviewers stated--"been there, done that" in terms of dark story line and giving chase for whatever the reason. Please don't get me wrong--the artwork is breath taking and a lot, a lot of work went into this game by Top Evidence Developers--however, a game is supposed to be fun, maybe creative, has a little something that grabs your attention. This game just did not do any of that for me. I believe the game appears cumbersome is that this game is meant to be played rather slowly and comfortably which, by the junk pile hidden object scenes and other cluttered scenes, is the only way the game can be played. I turned down the owl/background noises and the sounds kinda then blended together rather well. All in all--If there weren't so many other games like this and also if the hidden object and other scenes were cleaned up, the game would merit more stars. Enjoy! - Mama Mia - August 17, 2012
