An Adventure Game This game was interesting in the way that it didn't have HO scenes per se but you did have to find objects to use later. The use of real people was done well and it had a mysterious storyline that kept you strung along. This wasn't exactly the most fun game I've played but was pretty good. May 13, 2012
TOP OF THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A must have game ,Truly the best those GUYS @ ERS know how to do it ! Need more !! THE puzzles were so cool , loved the creepy atmospere.,the scenes, nothing here to disappoint anyone..I haven"t seen anything this good since Ravenherse. May 15, 2012
A new genre! This is an exciting new development with HO's, actually there are none! The game is pure find and do, I am loving it as I get a little tired of "finding things" in still life scenes. Try it out, you'll love it! May 14, 2012
Action in the everyday and then ... This game is quite good - it follows the Ers tradition to a T. Or should I say P. Real voices, believable tasks, and then some ... but you have to play it to find out. Story line moves on logically - I am enjoying this game which I am still to complete. May 14, 2012
More imaginagion. Really great adventure game. I love that it doesn't rely on a bunch of HOGs. In fact, there isn't a HOG in the whole game. Any more, I view HOGs as being a bit lazy in game development. There are many games out there where it seems like you're just playing the same game over and over again, with just a bit of change with the storyline. I will almost always buy the game that seems to have put a little more effort in their development. May 17, 2012
Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about! ERS has done it again! This game and others of this quality is what got me hooked on HO/adventure games in the first place! Live action actors with believable voice-overs, gripping storyline and 'put on your thinking cap' minigames...Bravo! May 14, 2012
Not a favorite. I do not give very many negative reviews but this game is not worth the time invested. The story is very difficult to follow. After playing the entire game and the bonus game I still cannot give you a plot synopsis. I found the sound track very annoying. Shrill and repetitive. On the plus side the ghost graphics were very good. The games were not hard and were mostly just tedious. I had a difficult time deciding where I should go next after accomplishing a task and found myself asking "what now" a lot. Personal taste aside I cannot recommend this game for any skill level. MORE GAMES LIKE THIS ONE PLEASE! At last, a new Adventure game! No hidden objects here, just a lot of investigation required to find objects, one at a time, to perform certain functions such as open a lock, break open a wall, get something from the bottom of a well, etc. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a hidden object game as a means to relax and while away the time, but I love a good Adventure game that challenges the mind and carries me away from daily life. . Loved the graphics here, the music was so-so. Recommend this game to all the dedicated Adventurers who enjoyed playing Syberia, Myst, Amerzone, and other classics in this vein. By the way, all of the mentioned classic Adventure games are sold right here on Big Fish Games! I was tickled to find them here in Windows 7 format since all my old Win 98 games would not run on a new computer. Why not go on a new Adventure today and try Dark Alleys, Penumbra Motel CE! You wont be disappointed! May 27, 2012
Great Adventure game with no hidden object scenes I liked this game as different from the usual games which are full of hidden object scenes. With this game you pick up items and you use them all. Was a great challenge and once you get past a few glitches it was a fun game to play. I think most of the glitches have now been fixed. May 19, 2012
Well....it's different! To begin with, I'm a hidden object addict who loves the hidden object scenes in a hidden object game. This game has NO hidden object scenes...at all...not one. I knew this before I played the game. I knew there was stuff to find as you rambled around that would enable you to go forward in the game. There were hidden objects to find...sort of. Most scenes contained at least one inventory item that would be used in that scene or another...either before or after playing the scene you're in. The story is a usual one....you have stopped for a moment and allowed a young girl to get some snacks...and she's kidnapped..and you have to rescue her from an evil-looking fellow. The scenes are well done...I played in casual mode, as I'd never attempted a game like this before. There were sparkles to lead me to areas of interest and I found them helpful. There were real actors in the game and they did well...the dialogue and characters were in sync so the words didn't continue when the character stopped "talking". There is a great deal of running around to do, so wear your hiking boots. There are creepy skeletons, deserted buildings...and just about every door or gate you encounter is locked..lol...but we expect that in a game like this. The puzzles were good and they were fairly frequent. I didn't utilize the hint system much. I got bogged down a bit from time to time and did use the strategy guide much, much more in this game than any other I've played. I think that's just because I wasn't familiar with a game that is all "adventure" and no "hidden object"...as this was my very first one. I'm sure those who play adventure games all of the time would call this more of a hidden object game...so I really don't know which category it should fall into. I got three evenings out of this game...about 7 hours...but I'm one who doesn't rush through a game...so others may find they can finish in less time. My 7 hours included the short bonus play that is available after completing the regular game. The music wasn't great...it was rather light-hearted...I would have preferred something more eerie, as the locations were spooky and I would have liked some spooky music. To me, the soundtrack reminded me of the sort of music you hear when watching a silent Charlie Chaplain movie...not appropriate for this game, in my opinion. It wasn't unpleasant...just not what I would consider the best choice for this game. So..is it a hidden object game?...No..not the type I always enjoy. Is it an adventure game?....Yes...you have a goal and must sally forth, using what you find to help you out to reach the end. To me, that is an adventure game. Was it fun to play?....For the most part, yes.....it was creepy and I love creepy. I got to play some puzzles I hadn't seen before and I enjoyed interacting with "real" people. Would I recommend the game to folks like me who really prefer the more traditional hidden object game? No. Would I recommend the game to folks like me who might try an adventure-type game for the first time? Yes, I would..and I will...but only to those who won't miss the hidden object scenes. I enjoyed it...you might, too. Don't let the lack of hidden object scenes let you miss out on a pretty darn good game. May 16, 2012
