How Very Disappointing
You know, the first 2 games in this series were great - these last 2, not so good! I am extremely disappointed with this one however.
While the graphics were as good as usual, Boom Zap should have ended this quest to find Sophia's parents already! Now, it just seems the devs are stretching this out for every penny they can get, and the games are not living up to the quality of the first 2 games.
First, let me say, the strategy guide is a joke, and I really resent paying for a CE with a strategy guide that is less than helpful. Then, there is the fact that you have to resort to USING the strategy guide as often as I did while playing this game. Since I purchased it, I made myself play the entire game, including the Bonus - a serious waste of time and money! And then, once again, the devs have decided to add another sequel: Get it over already, it has become a giant bore!
A lot of the minigames are ridiculously easy, and the rest make no sense at all - so you're forced to just skip them out of frustration!
There are not a lot of HOS, which I like, and they could have put in more than what they did as far as I am concerned. Directions on where to go and what to do next were spotty at best; and there was not really anything to tie the whole adventure aspect of the game together.
I play the first 2 games in this series over and over - the last 2 are like nightmares I would like to forget!
I do not recommend purchasing this CE or indeed, the SE when it comes out - especially as without the sorry strategy guide, I cannot imagine how buyers of the SE will progress!

Drags a bit...however
I have the other 3 Awakening games and really liked them, especially the little dragon. I'm not sure about this one. Graphics seem more cartoon-like than the other games, HOGs are not difficult, switch between voice-overs and none (please do one or the other). Like the little owl and the 3 choices for game play. Story line is getting a bit old.
This game just didn't grab my attention like the others and didn't make me want to purchase as soon as my time ran out. Just seemed very slow and dragging, which may pick up as the game goes on, hopefully.
Haven't crossed this one off my list yet. I will put it in the puddle and think on it a bit, but will probably add it to my other Awakening games. May just keep it in the puddle until a "special" comes along...not sure yet. Thanks for the reviews.

Disappointed
My review is based on the demo, but ten minutes in I was completely bored. Alas, nothing hooked me: not the graphics, the story line, the voice overs, or the game play. I just found myself feeling as if the developers cobbled this together and were jaded as well.
I was looking forward to this installment but it just didn't work for me.
I know some others love the game, but for me it was, unfortunately, sub-par.

Totally too frustrating!!!!
I really enjoyed the first 2 Awakenings. I liked the 3 installment even though I got a bit frustrated with the many mini-games and their complexity. This one is beyond frustrating!!! So much that had to be done didn't make sense at all. The mini-games were totally frustrating and didn't make sense. There was no way to figure out what you were supposed to do unless you looked at the strategy guide, and even then I skipped most of the mini-games. I've gotten to the epilogue but could now care less how this game ends. No game is worth this much frustration. If there is a future installment, I won't buy it. What a way to ruin a story that started with so much promise. The developers must think everyone who plays this game understands their thought processes. Sorry, I am not by any means stupid, but this game made me so angry, I wanted my money back!!!

Loved it!
Having played and loved the other games in the series I bought without playing the demo and as other reviewers have said, I was not disappointed. It is as good as all the others and judging by the bonus chapter, there is still more to come...yehhhhhhhhhh! Please let it be quickly tho...lol.

Awakening: The Skyward Castle CE
Been waiting for awhile for the conclusion of the Awakening games and this one didn't dissapoint one bit.Graphics: Beautiful, clear and perfect in every aspect.Sounds:Voice overs were well acted as well the narration. The challenges :Some of them were not so easy which it was excellent and storyline didn't dissappoint either. The bonus adds another side to the main story.Definitely it was what I expected from the developers they did an excellent job.It was worth the price. If you're a fan of the Awakening series ,you wouldn't want to miss out on this one.

Lesser caliber than prior Awakening games
Jumped to buy this as I've played all the previous games. Expected this game to be along the same lines of mini-games as well as provide a suitable conclusion. Instead, multiple mini-games with runes, very poor instructions on how to play them, talking characters with bad accents that were out of place with the storyline, and, worst of all, a cliffhanger conclusion. Loved the series, but this game was a let down. I'm disappointed but worth playing just to close (kind of) a loop with this storyline.

loads of puzzles
The graphics in this game are gorgeous (like all of them) and the music downright meditative. However I soon realized I was going to have to turn the music down and put on my thinking cap to make any headway in this game. I loved all the puzzles. I just wish the instructions for those puzzles were in the main game and not in the SG. It did become a tad annoying going back and forth to figure out what to do. I also found that going from all the English accents to a skull with a new york one kind of odd and the scatter brained drunken pirate named Jack looked awfully familiar. However the game was long and beautiful. There were a good variety of HO scenes and just a ton of puzzles and mini games. I really like the rays that sparkle when you complete each one.Tons of inventory objects and all kinds of interaction with all kinds of creatures. Very engaging, lots of magic, some challenge in the inventory objects and a good continuation of the story. There were achievements to achieve and a good extra chapter again with lots of thought provoking puzzles. Really enjoyed this one despite some minor annoyances at the lack of direction. If you like a relaxing game with lots of magic and puzzles try this one. I might even replay this one some day.

At last!
I've been a faithful fan of the Awakening games, and even though the last one left me a little bit disappointed, I knew I wouldn't be able to resist the final game...
And it's beautiful!!! I'm in love with it... Beautiful graphics as always and the hidden object scenes are a little bit more challenging, which for me is completely fine and appreciated!
Very happy with this game... very happy indeed.

One of my favorite series does it again!
-Fantastic graphics
-Map with teleport abilities
-Nice nod to the previous Awakenings
-Some of the mini-games seemed very easy but were balanced by much harder ones
-Interactive HOS
-play time was over ten hours for me
All in all, Boomzap has created another fabulous game!
