Strictly Mahjong
Occasionally I love to zone out with a good game of Match 3 or Mahjong. Although at times, Mahjong does tire the eyes after a while, there are Mahjong games out there that not only tell a story but have beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay. This paticular Mahjong game has no story line except that you are invited to particiapate in a world competition, no voice overs and no special effects. What it does have is alot of Mahjong tiles, boards and boards to play. You have a number of trophies to win and each board has certain achievemnts to reach in order to get three stars. Think Fairway card game without all the bells and whistles. The graphics are sharp, tiles easily distinguishable and there is the soft music in the background. After a couple of boards, I was ready to nod off. However as you get through the first round (12 bords in each round), gameplay gets more challenging and if you are a fan of Mahong, I do think you will enjoy the many hours of games to play. SOme boards are timed while others are not. Its not a bad game but as I mentioned, no bells, no whistles, strictly Mahjong for those who just want to play Mahjong.

Different and challenging
I love Mahjong games and I don't think I've come across one like this before. The demo just flew by.
The levels are grouped into various stages of the tournament and you start as a candidate. Each level has 3 goals to achieve, thereby 3 stars to go for. Goals are varied, earn X points, remove all tiles, complete the level in X moves, find X golden tiles, finish within X time. It does get challenging to meet all 3 goals.
If this is the shape of things to come in the other groups, then this will be an amazing game with a strong replayability factor.

Superb Mahjong nothing bad to report!
I love Mahjong but I only actually owned two other mj games, (Quest 2 and Quest 3 balance of life) until I played this one, which I have subsequently purchased after playing the demo.
The music is restful & pleasant & to be honest Id be happy to leave the game running in the background, just to listen to the music! The game play is excellent, a no nonsense mahjong tournament with 3 challenges per board. Some easy, some you need to play a couple of times or so to get all 3 stars for the board at the same time, and a couple of really tough ones! Ive just started on the 2nd tournament so Im expecting the challenges to get more difficult as I go along.
If you love MJ and arent bothered about plots or intriguing storylines (there arent any on this game) then you will almost certainly enjoy this one :-)

Great mahjong challenge!
If you like the challenge of solitary mahjong, then you are really going to enjoy Mahjong World Contest. You will take on many, many different puzzles and challenges along the way, from timing, to taking out certain tiles, to clearing the board in less than so many moves. Each puzzle offer three different challenges, and you earn a star for each one you complete. This is one great strategy game, but I have yet to find something in a casual mahjong game that looks as fun as the games they played in Kung Fu Mahjong, but this one will keep you on your toes. The light sounding music in the background is what you would commonly hear at your local Jade Lantern restaurant. It might explain why I was craving Egg Drop Soup, General Tso chicken, and China Black Tea while playing this game.
The puzzles lay out in many kinds of setups, even a yin-yang. This is the kind of game mahjong players can really get into, and with such great graphics, there most likely will be a sequel. This is simply solitary mahjong at its best. So BFG, where is our casual Go game? For those whome have seen or read Hikaru No Go, you know there is no casual Go game, not the way they play.

Beautiful Mahjong Game
This is a beautiful, uncomplicated mahjong game. The music is very soothing. It's one of those "let me escape from the trials and tribulations of the day" games where you can relax and just play mahjong.
There is a contest aspect to it. The goal is to gain 6 levels of ability, starting with "Blooming Lotus" and ending with "Grand Master." There are also 12 trophys to be earned.

just a normal one
I love Mahjong but I also love the ones that give you a lot of extras, such flipping tiles or sucking all the same ones out like it was in one of those Mahjong games long time ago. I did not play for the full hour because I got bored. You do the normal stuff, match tiles and try to do it in a certain amount of time in a certain amount of moves. The game is not over if you go over the time or moves. There are golden tiles throughout and those are the ones you are trying to match first. Maybe there is more to come but i just was not in the right mood, maybe because my headset broke, so I could not hear the music.

Very challenging
I am a huge fan of Mahjong games, never get bored of them.
In this one for each level you have 3 goals to gain 3 stars which unlocks other more challenging levels as you go on. I love this game for the challenge it presents from the start. You really have to concentrate and use strategy to get all three stars.
However, some of the levels seem impossible to get all three stars, and to me I can't play this game for very long as I get higher in levels because it becomes very stressful in getting the stars so you can proceed to the next level in the contest.
The graphics are great, the music is good but beware it is very calming and soothing music and I find it kind of puts me to sleep. There really is no storyline as it's mahjong, you just have to get through a contest of different puzzles.
I love this game for the challenge, despite how frustrating it can become at times.
I bought this game the moment the trial was over.

Nothing special
I was disappointed with this game. Except for the premise -- entering a mahjong tournament -- there is nothing special or different about this game. There are three tile designs: a traditional, one composed of numbers and letters like children's blocks, and the third set looks like a deck of cards. It was odd playing them. None of them are very attractive or crisp and clear, nor were there any exciting animations or power ups. The music, however, was nice. This one deserves a trial run before purchase or using a credit to be sure it suits you.
