Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga Collector's Edition 4 5 155 155
Not so fun hidden object game Gothic Saga: Dark Fiction was just to full of fiction, meaning so outragiously not in any realm of being able to concentrate on the bases of the game which is suppossed to be hidden object. The ludicrousness of the game made it virtually impossible to focus on just that. Of course, this is just my humble opinion, I just made a mistake and chose the wrong game. I'm sure to some this is and will always be the best game they ever played. September 3, 2012
Poor: Story, graphics, game play, navigation, dubbing... Disappointing Adventure game with no HO - which would be appealing if there was any interesting plot or game play. I bought this because I like adventure games and wanted a break from HO. There were so many rave reviews, but I wish I had started from the poor reviews first: eye opening. This game is jarring on so many levels. Set in England? Yeah right... Yellow American school buses, US road signs saying 'route 999', steering wheels and driving on the wrong side, architecture which feels American, not an English accent in sight, no school uniforms or children remotely dressed as though for school. Did I have to walk to and fro and to and fro and to and fro? Yes and it drove me bonkers. Any problems with the game? It seems resource heavy on my laptop and not as responsive as other games which have better game play and graphics. Also it crashed part way through. Opening / closing the story book was a bit slow. Did it feel spooky? No. Not helped by poor dubbing of actors, poor casting, poor scenery which did not feel school-like, and monsters that looked a bit 'arcade-like' with brash colours and pointy teeth. Storyline? The start of the game feels rushed and only makes sense if you read the journal to pad out the beginning of the story. And the end? Well, if you have the standard edition you are going to get a short abrupt ending which hits you like a slap in the face. The end. At least with CE you get to play out a bit more of a story. However, by this point you want the game to end, but feel obliged to play because you've spent extra on the CE.... Did I care what happened? Not really. Who do I think will like this game? Peeps who are not so much into storyline and just want an adventure game of medium difficulty. If that is all you want, then this will fit the bill. If you are someone like me who is more story line driven, I'd recommend you give this a miss. How on earth is this getting 5 stars from people ...? Maybe they need to play more games for a more balanced comparison? December 9, 2012
bummer: final cut does not working illogical, to expensive, and bummer, for unexplained reasons final cut (end game video) will not trigger. poor performance for a 'collector's edition'. really very frustrating September 8, 2012
I Think We've Moved On From This Point............... Oh dear. Just when the CE games were getting better an old chestnut like this appears. Tired theme. Tired challenge. Nasty graphics. Come on BF you can do better! September 5, 2012
Same-o, same-o Okay, evil witch, save the kids, dark nasty vines. Puzzles that are way too easy and not very clever. I'm surprised that BigFish would consider this a collector's addition. Notice to all you game developers....give us different story lines. How about making the intro a part of the puzzle? Lay hints in the intro and story line that would help with puzzles. I don't need a lot of HO, a couple but tie them with puzzles. And please, be clever. Go back to Madam Fate and look at their puzzles. They were innovative and interesting. August 31, 2012
Convoluted This is the only game I have ever reviewed. I felt I needed to because it was so awful. Too many rooms, convoluted plot, too much going back and forth, no continuity. Very sad I wasted my credits on this game.. September 18, 2012
More Adventure than Hidden Object A little disappointed! I was looking forward to actual hidden object scenes but it was just adventure and puzzles. Not what I was expecting or thought I was paying for. Categorized incorrectly!!!! Not a favorite. September 1, 2012
Waste of time Might be O K if you like gothic that makes no sense. No H O and not my kind of game.Boring August 30, 2012
No hidden object puzzles Not a bad game. Kind of fun, but not a sinle hidden object puzzle to be found. September 23, 2012
