No Hidden Objects, Yay!!! interesting graphics decent ambient sound nice use of video and actors. purchased as soon as demo ran out September 1, 2012
GOTHIC FUN Anything gothic is in my blood, much to my mother's chagrin. And this has great visuals, music and voiceovers that are not annoying or unnecessary. But if you're looking for HO's don't look for them here, at least not in the demo. I finished the demo with time to spare and was left wanting. I have let to decide if I am going to purchase. Could anyone say how long the full game is? That is a big factor for me to know before buying. The strategy guide didn't give any clues as to the length of the game. Like another reviewer, I'd rather wait until the first of next month to buy. But, if you like creepy settings, witches with an attitude, and evil creatures with a long reach, (said not to give to much away) then this is for you. I like all those things, but I also like HO's, which are lacking here. August 30, 2012
Love It!! The art work was brilliant and the story line was alot of fun. This is the first I have actually taken the time to write a review and Im glad I did. The game was challenging but not to difficult to enjoy and was extremely addicting to play, I strongly recommend it, I played the Collectors Addition. I have been a member with Big Fish for ages and this is the only website I use. The staff is amazingly friendly and the games are brilliant, especially this one. Keep em coming. :) August 30, 2012
nothing special I agree with 'been there done that' comment, there is nothing new or special about this game. Graphics very average and it is just a matter of wandering around finding objects. If you like a bit of story or interesting characters, this isn't it. With the high rating I had hopes but was really disappointed. August 31, 2012
GOTHIC FICTION - LOVED IT!! As soon as the game went on sale at 1:00AM, I purchased it. Great developers so the game has all the bells and whistles. There are lots of things to do so take your time. The storyline is spooky-funny and I don't know what some of these reviews are talking about when they say been there and done that. So what!? It's a game afterall and I say buy it! August 30, 2012
Not so fun hidden object game Gothic Saga: Dark Fiction was just to full of fiction, meaning so outragiously not in any realm of being able to concentrate on the bases of the game which is suppossed to be hidden object. The ludicrousness of the game made it virtually impossible to focus on just that. Of course, this is just my humble opinion, I just made a mistake and chose the wrong game. I'm sure to some this is and will always be the best game they ever played. September 3, 2012
JUST misses out on a 5! 4.5 Stars! I'm so sorry not to give this a 5. It deserves it, but there are some things that annoyed me too much. (based on Demo) Good Parts: Brilliant intro, setting the pace for an amazing storyline. As usual, brilliant, realistic, well designed graphics. ERS have a brilliant team. I never thought I'd say this in my life, but I absolutely LOVED the puzzles! They were so much fun and very challenging. Even if I didn't get it first go, I'd keep on playing till I got it becase I loved it so much. My favourite puzzle is the knight and the witch. The gothic theme is presented so well in this game. I especially liked the "mystic energy" Great voice-overs and cutscenes. OK Parts: I am a little tired of ERS's use of ghosts. This game did it well, but I don't think ghosts should be used in another game. Bad Parts: The hint takes way too long to recharge and is of no help whatsoever. This should be listed under puzzle and not Hidden Object because there weren't any hidden object scenes in the game. The main reason this game does not get a 5 is I had to use the strategy guide WAY too much. The main reasons were slow hint recharge ad getting stuck on what to do. All in all, despite this, Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga is still a brilliant game. I guarentee it will amaze anyone who plays it. August 31, 2012
bummer: final cut does not working illogical, to expensive, and bummer, for unexplained reasons final cut (end game video) will not trigger. poor performance for a 'collector's edition'. really very frustrating September 8, 2012
Great Gothic game Played the demo and decided to buy the game. The story line is nothing new, and the game is nothing impossible, but I liked the artwork and the many puzzles, and overall thought it was a fun game. So far, this game is worth the money. August 30, 2012
way over done to the point its annoying I never made it past the first section. This game just annoyed me for some reason. For example I always accept the custom cursors but not in this game--the first thing I did was turn it off. I just wish there was a way to turn off other "features" as well. The animation was over done. I admire the developers attempt to make the game feel more alive, but in my opinion they tried too hard. The game took so much extra effort that it took the fun out of playing it. October 25, 2012
