Beautiful but...
This game has top notch graphics, a lot of different locations to explore and has an interesting, not too mellow, plot line. Another nice thing is that the bonus level is a separate game in itself, which gives a pre-sequel to the main game.
On the not so nice side, the hidden scenes are very repetitive (not so much as once you have to move something around to find the object you seek), and the puzzles are way too easy. I cannot stress that part enough. In every single puzzle, it is very clear from the start what you have to do in order to solve it, and the actual doing it is more technical than cerebral. It takes away the pleasure to be able to solve them, and ultimately to finish the game.
A little thing that needs improving in my view is animation: it could be more fluid, both in the cinematic scenes and in the puzzles.
Overall, it is a decent game but if you are looking to something more than just a story told with beautiful graphics, don?t buy it.

Blue Tea are upgrading their approach.
The game is shorter and takes up more space... so the animation quality has improved.
Strategy guide has no locations for morphed objects, but the hint meter fills up faster.
The bonus adventure for the Collector's Edition is a great prequel.

Not just a game, but a BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE
This game was a new experience for me even though I have played hundreds of BF games. Story was exciting, Graphics were beautiful, but my Greatest Surprise was the SOUND/AUDIO; I rarely if ever play with the sound turned on and had played this game nearly through before I just "Happened" to turn on the sound. I was overwhelmed to say the least, so, so beautiful, both music and voice overs. As soon as I finished I immediately replayed the game with the sound TURNED ON. What a totally different experience. I literally 'fell' in to the game world. Wonderful, wonderful experience, but now my game expectations have gone to another level.
BIG KISS TO THE DEVELOPERS!!!!!!

Too much money too little game!
The graphics were fabulous and the game was exciting even enjoyable but the game only lasted me a few hours (around 4-5 hours) and bearing in mind some games take weeks to complete, even with the bonus game it was over in a flash. Not worth 2 credits, no way, in fact paying 10 or two credits was a real rip off.

Beautiful Visuals!!!
I enjoyed this game and could not stop playing. The artwork is excellent, I love the detailed scenes and the hidden objects. I liked being able to hit the hint button whenever I needed to. The story was interesting and great for people that like fairytales. The game is a bit dark and mysterious, but still cheerful enough to be fun.
The only "faults" I could find is that the character's mouths aren't well synchronized to their speech and that sometimes it was hard to combine a hidden item with another, even if it was the right one. You had to click on a certain little spot, or the items wouldn't interact.
If you like a mysterious and dark fairytale with excellent artwork, this really is for you. By the way, the bonus game included in the collector's edition was just as excellent as the main game! I thought it was very original and I loved it. Great scenes and fun tasks!
If you enjoyed "Witch Hunters - Stolen Beauty" you will like this game even more.

DP #4: Cutely dressed Sisters vs. Mist Wolves
Review based upon completion of the game plus bonus.
The fourth game of the series brings back all the elements that I loved: Beautiful graphics, FROG scenes and a twisted storyline made up of Rotkppchen (Little Red Riding Hood, Grimm Brothers) and The Boy who cried Wolf (Aesop).
The Good:
+ beautiful graphics
+ great video cut scenes
+ FROG scenes are harder this time, with some items not being so obvious
+ they spared us the trademark Giant Spider this time around
+ fairy tale match-up riddle
+ morphing objects...
The Neutral:
o ...were sometimes tiny and time-dependent, which isn't really necessary
o there could have been more and varied riddles
The Bad:
- lots of senseless to-and-froing
Bonus Content: The story took me about one hour to complete. It ties in with the story and plays before the events with the Riding Hood Sisters. The rest is the usual (wallpapers, saveable soundtrack, some concept art and puzzles that are repeated from the game) stuff you are getting with a CE.
Bottom Line: If you loved parts 1-3 you will love this game too. Next one should be Aschenputtel (Cinderella).
P.S.: Those wolf pups were really cute.

A good addition to the Dark Parables series
This a good, though not great, addition to the Dark Parables series. For the most part, it's well done, it just has a few flaws compared to the previous ones. However, it's still worthwhile and enjoyable game, provided you either like fragmented object hidden object games, or liked the previous games in this series.
Much like the previous games, the graphics are beautiful, and the music is well done. This time, if the title doesn't give it away, the parable/fairy tale is Red Riding Hood, with the typical twists these games add to those stories. You are again the detective from the previous games, come to solve a mystery. It's fairly enjoyable, though not quite as much as the previous games.
This one seemed a lot shorter than the previous ones. I was able to solve it within one day, playing on and off for about four hours. It's also easier than the previous games in the series, especially the mini-games within the bigger game. You can see some of the uniqueness from the previous games in them, but they aren't quite as clever and are definitely much easier. And, despite the fact that the artwork is still beautiful, the anime-like dressing of some of the sisters was a detractor. I don't remember anyone seeming quite as anime in previous games, but I felt a few of them would have been perfect in something like Sailor Moon with just some slight changes to their outfits. Sorry, but I have a hard time taking a sisterhood brought together to defend the land from mist wolves seriously when they're running around in big pigtails, tiny shorts/skirts, belly-baring bustiers/tops, and over-the knee boots. Sure, some of those could have been used without issue, but put them all together and it becomes a bit silly.
Even given the issues, it's still a good game, especially if you're a fan of the previous ones. The bonus gameplay is also well done in that it brings a bit more depth to the story, but isn't necessarily a must play to understand the story. The other features with the CE are extra mini-games, artwork, and the other typical things that you tend to find with CEs these days. And just like the previous games, there are hints as to what the story for the next game in the series will be.
Ultimately, this one may not be worth the CE to some, given the shorter length. (The bonus gameplay doesn't add much extra game time.) The previous games are certainly better. I hope the next one goes back to the excellence of those! But I'd still recommend the game, and if you're a big fan of the Dark Parables series (which I am), I'd also recommend going ahead with the CE version.

Same old, same old
I was hoping for something interesting and challenging. Although this proved to be a typical Blue Tea Game, it was the same old, same old, same repetitive HO quests and a lot of chasing around. Really wish this had more meat to the story and the challenge, but it didn't.
Not sure I think this is worth the CE cost :(

Dark Parables Wins Again!
Since my 1st Dark Parables game, I have never been disappointed. I haven't played the Bonus Game yet as I did want to submit my ratings, late as they are. Intricate work on every piece and part of the game. Such detail. The Artwork, including the music is supreme. Well done Steven Zhao and your team. Next one, bring it on. I buy these without question as I am guaranteed best quality in every field. I am so happy Big Fish Games decided to try your games, years ago and the demand just gets bigger. Thanks BFG.
