Wonderful Adventure Game I really enjoyed this game. There are no HOS which is fine by me. It was nice and long and the graphics were outstanding. Yes, there was a lot to keep up with, but the map came in very handy as it showed you the objectives for each area. Yes, you had to do the back and forth thing, but with such a wonderful game I didn't mind. Have fun adventurers! September 26, 2012
if you like walking around... this is the game for you... This is one of the games where an interactive map would have been a great help. There is a map involved but it is not interactive. So most of the time is actually wasted on walking back and forth, back and forth, up and down, up and down... again and again. Since most of the locations have the same overall dark look I got really confused. Like 'well, let me think, there was a fitting box somewhere in a dark dungeon but which one was it...' In the end I did not even finish the game since it seemed that I missed one of the book pages and simply did not want to search over all of those locations again. Talking about locations - this game is said to be situated in England - why then get so many details wrong and why do the actors have that broad american accent... The minigames are a bit too easy, even for my taste. The more complicated ones require a lot of clicking action but that's it. Endurance tests rather than anything else. The hint option is not really helpful. All you get is 'well, there is nothing to explore here anymore'. Great. Without a walkthrough I would have been completely lost several times. Sorry, developers, I've played better games made by you. This one did not get your full attention, it feels kind of sloppy. Don't know if I want to recommend it or not. However, the graphics are quite nice and the idea of the game is good, too. So, yes, recommend it for some entertainment. But don't expect too much. September 23, 2012
Gotta support no HOS!!!! I am not crazy bout the creepy vines but I had to buy this one, I have to support devs that put out a no HOS game. I am getting so tired of having to play hos scenes in most of these adventure games. So happy to see finally a couple of pure adventure games come out. I thought this game got better as it went along. I liked the animated pictures throughout. Definitely made you think at times. Please more adventure games BF! October 28, 2012
it was fun and gothic ! I got into it, I liked the graphics, the puzzles and it was lots of fun and enchanting, they did a good job ! October 21, 2012
GREAT BUT TAKES WORK BASICALLY A GREAT GAME, NO FINDING WHICH IS NICE TO TAKE A BREAK FROM. THE ONLY ISSUE i HAD IS FIGURING OUT WHERE TO GO AND HOW TO GET THERE WAS HARD. THERE IS A MAP BUT CAN'T JUMP TO PLACES, JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER. NEAR THE END OF THE GAME i USED THE WALK THROUGH QUITE A BIT. i DON'T USE SOUND SO CAN'T RATE THAT BUT OVER ALL A GOOD CHALLENGING GAME. March 9, 2013
Silly, but fun - good choice for an SE adventure! GF:DS is a fun adventure/puzzle game w/no HOS. The graphics are a little cheesy, but well done - especially the eyes that track the cursor in almost every scene. The map is reasonably concise - 4-5 major areas to explore from a central starting point, so even though you do have run around more than you'd probably like at times, clicking through locations isn't that cumbersome. Really liked the map; it's not interactive, but does help you remember where your outstanding puzzles and tasks are. The puzzles themselves aren't particularly difficult, but if you play on advanced or hard mode, you'll have to work to locate all the active areas in each scene, which makes up for that. SE wraps up quite well, so I didn't feel like I missed anything by not getting the CE. Would definitely recommend this game for a few hours of enjoyable distraction! February 23, 2013
good puzzles and no hidden ojects to bother with nice long game with no hidden objects for once - only one critism the scenes are quite disjointed to at times it was difficult to remember where to go back to and where the different rooms were situated. Good graphics and enjoyed the puzzles, all pretty straight forward. Interesting gameplay and engaging on all levels. February 3, 2013
AWESOME GAME IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE..THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU!!! IT TOOK ME A LITTLE WHILE BUT I DID IT & THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!! KUDOS TO THE CREATORS :) January 27, 2013
Really nice game Lots of fun. Mind you, it took me about 6 hrs to complete. I kept getting lost!! The map is great. The blog is invaluable. This game is well worth buying. January 5, 2013
A lot packed in an SE game! First the pro's and the reason I gave it 5 stars. It was a LONG game. Figuring out what to do next was challenging, even more so if you do not play the easiest level. This is a good thing. Nothing is worse than the obvious. The graphics were inventive and different than the last few HOGs/Adventure games I have played and up to the developers usual standards. But this time there were NO Hidden Object puzzles. I think that is why so much time was spent on storyline. The only negative is that for those who don't like marching around, there was no way to jump, even with a map, from one location to another. Unless I totally missed it. Very good and especially good because I picked it up for $4.99. December 31, 2012
