An Almost Great Game I really wanted to like this game. I really did. The story sounded cool, the music was spooky if a bit annoying after a while. The characters are nicely drawn and the font for dialogue and directions is clear and very readable. So what happened? In a word-playability! The HOG scenes are blurry and oddly colored. The hint bottle refills quickly but it's often hard to see where the hint sparkles are pointing. But the biggest downer for me was the timer! Timed HOGs are frustrating at best, but with it's unclear directions and short duration, it became an exercise in frustration. For all these reasons, I can't recommend this game. Despite it's good points, it's just too fulla problems. June 3, 2012
Dont Waste Your Time on this game! I am beginning to suspect that there is this vault at BFG where they keep very old HO games that have never seen the light of day and on occasion, when there is nothing new to bring out, they dip into this vault, dust off the cobwebs and try to peddle it off rather than sending it to the recycle bin. I suppose strictly HOG games are still in demand, and I?m sure there are many incurable HOG junkies out there who still long for those junk piled scenes and endless numbers of objects to find. Well look no further, if you do have the yearning, this may just appease your appetite. However, in my opinion, I think this particular HOG is seriously a waste of time and space. Time Chronicles deals with time and once you get past the enormously confusing tutorials, you find yourself on a mission to restore the very timeless painting of Mona Lisa. I really recommend that you try the demo just to be able to fully appreciate just how difficult it must have been to have written up the tutorial and story description: Find a Time Chameleon by using a Time zapper to collect Time Traces that will open up a Time portal to travel to a certain Time Frame! Seriously, just how many times can the word ?Time? be used in one sentence! I won?t waste much time on graphics which are just bad and outdated. There are no voice-overs, no journal but you do have a map (actually two maps, one present and one past), did I forget to mention that you also time travel? There are two play modes which are Normal and Casual. Huh? Aren?t they the same? Anyhow, moving along, we then come to the actual game play which is strictly HOG and to make matters worst, your HOS are TIMED. Bet that brings back fond memories eh? I suppose there may be some players who yearn for the frustration of finding minuscule objects against a clock? Trust me when I tell you that glasses will be required. And there you have it, a game filled with lots and lots and again lots of HO scenes that are junk-piled with teeny objects and a story that I still have yet to understand. The worst part of the game for me was knowing that you have to play each HO scenes at different time frames in order to collect all the required number of objects in order to move on to the next location. But you have to hand it to the developers; they were clever enough to add achievements by way of earning gold stars in order to make this game remotely interesting. In my opinion, the highlight of the entire game was the tutorial which made me seriously laugh out loud. Other than that, I think I will spend my time elsewhere today. June 3, 2012
I don't need to play it to know. TIMED. I will never play nor purchase any game where there's a timer w/o option to turn it off. As soon as I read (paraphrased) "to move on you must uncover time traces before timer runs out" I exited as soon as possible (was trapped in mandatory tutorial) and quit the game. Graphics great, could be fun, timer kills it for me. That simple. June 3, 2012
Time chronicles: The missing excitement I have to start by mentioning the music part of the game, it is a repetitive fast paced, I found myself tapping to it with my fingers only to realize time flies when you don't pay attention and this game has a time restrictions...gotta complete the scene in timely manner in order to receive shiny stars... The objects in the scene just lay there, all yawning, waiting for you to pick them up from the police lineup, graphics are ok but not breath taking. you get to play the same scene in different time something that has to do with this special laser looking gun and a plot that didn't speak to me or was all that exciting. Hint recharges quickly, bunch of HO scenes. have no expectations it won't bug to much. I played the demo, maybe will buy if on daily deal. June 3, 2012
Don't time me bro! I don't need the pressure of another job - game might have been interesting if given the option to just play, and not be timed. June 3, 2012
Not dark and dreary, but timed only. I don't buy games without the option of turning timer off. June 3, 2012
Not fun I did not care for this game. I don't like games where all you are doing is searching for hidden objects. Not sure if the game had anything other than hidden objects as I stopped playing after a few scenes. June 3, 2012
Old HOG The concept was slightly interesting, but it did not deliver. It was an old HOG from some years ago with a list of items to find in the present and in the past. There was a timer, but it gave me plenty of time to find the items. June 3, 2012
Tedious This is a very old style hidden object game which is incredibly boring by today's standards. The background graphics are OK but he objects are fuzzy, too small sometimes and difficult to make out taking all the fun out of finding them. I feel as though we have taken a large step backwards in this game. I do not recommend this game. June 3, 2012
wasted potential this game seemed like it had potential and I wanted to like it but after playing about 1/2 the trial I finally gave up. it is all finding things in different places - the time part wasn't a problem but no options to do anything but find things is boring. maybe I needed to play more but I finally gave up. the redeeming quality was the hint button recharged fast but you have to click items exactly which is annoying when you see the object but still can't click exactly in the right spot. sorry but this game is a no for me.
