A Bit Disapponted I bought this CE with the bundle since I had missed this entire series, and I played them in order, one right after the other. I thought the first game was the best since it had a spooky atmosphere, an immersive and decent story, and had enough challenge to make me scratch my head in some places. The second was not far off in quality to the first. This one was really quite a disappointment: it was really easy. As an intermediate player playing on the most difficult setting, I maybe had to use the hint once or twice, and very importantly for a CE, it only lasted me a little over three hours including the bonus material. It seemed like I played the demo, bought the game, blinked, and it was already over. But also, I thought the storyline was pretty poor. It seemed to have very little sustenance to it, glossed over a few elements, leaving some loose ends hanging, only to end abruptly. I got the impression that the dev pushed this game very quickly out the door, which is a shame because they could have done more with the setting, the time period, and the fact that the first game at least was far more mysterious and had an interesting plot twist. I figured out who the baddy was 1/3 of the way through the story. More irritatingly, the way the story ended, it also would seem that the bonus material is needed to flesh it out, as little as it does, however, the game is so short in general, I am not sure I can recommend the CE as worth the extra cash you have to pay for it. The game seems to take place mainly in Montmartre between 1890 and 1910 since it is mentioned that the Eiffel Tower is new and you can see one of the famous moulins in the game, but nothing about the artists who were integral to the bohemian atmosphere of that area around that period of time. It is also not exactly the most logical place for a high born, "innocent", decent lass to set up her home, since it had a pretty notorious reputation, but nevermind. So to summarize, if you like Montmartre and the Bel Epoque, this game might be good as a short SE, but I do not recommend it as a CE. November 1, 2012
Looked forward to it but wasn't terribly impressed I love Shadow Wolf games, but this one was too short, not very impressive places to visit and simply just OK. The bonus section was long, with lots of HOs. If you like Shadow Wolf games, I recommend it, but if you have never played them, I suggest you play the previous two first. October 28, 2012
I liked the Graphics and Storyline, BUT The Graphics were good....not a lot of use of the "grey color" I have come to hate in searching for hidden objects in some games....and the Graphics themselves I liked... And the story line was pretty good.... I probably could have waited for the SE, althought the Walkthrough did help me a lot figuring out where to go next....Overall I thought the Game was Good But not Great.... October 26, 2012
as always: great game ! As I expected this game did not dissapoint me: on the contrary, at least as good as the other two games of shadow wolf mysteries. Nice graphics, good puzzles, great same recognisable music. I recommend this game, because it's fun to play with the werewolves ! October 18, 2012
Oh My Goodness! I just finished this game and loved it! Not being as experienced as some of you folks, the challenges were just perfect for me. Since many of you have written such excellent reviews and gone into great detail, I willl reframe from doing so. Let's just say, I'm sitting here waiting for another one of the Wolf Mysteries to download. That kind of says it all. Oh, and thank you ever so much for your input. Sandra October 19, 2012
Based on Demo... THUMBS UP I enjoyed everything about the demo from graphics, SFX, puzzles (on the simple side, yet great variety), H0G, voiceovers... Definite BUY. YAY, GREAT JOB, DEVS & BFG! :) October 18, 2012
ANOTHER SHADOW WOLF MYSTERIES WINNER!!! Like its predecessors, Curse of the Full Moon and Bane of the Family, this game is magnificent. Animation/VOs - Very well done. IHOs - Clear, some small objects, repeated scenes Be sure to scan all scenes for objects outside the HOs. Annoying factor was the repeated "Ahhh" everytime an object is found outside the HOs. Music - Alternated between lovely Parisienne music and blood curdling wolf howls. Hint/Skip - Slow to recharge. Hint does not act as a guide. States look elsewhere or wasting time. Puzzles - The usual variety, some easy, others more difficult No map that I could find but there is the SG which I used quite often. :-D Prepare to do a great deal of back tracking. No misclick penalty Annoying factor - Bath house full of smoke. Had to use a fan to clear it away to find silhouette objects. Bonus game play was wonderful. Wasn't going to play it at first but I'm glad I changed my mind. If you've played the first two in this series and enjoyed it then you will certainly enjoy this one as well. For those of you who haven't, I recommend playing Curse and Bane first. Get all three and happy gaming!!! October 24, 2012
Really good Lovely storyline, many and intriguing puzzles, nice graphic, no issues or bugs or glinchs, maybe not as long as it should have been 4 the good quality of the game and the price, but its a good game to try and buy...... also good at the extra part after ending the main story October 22, 2012
REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME ERS have some of the best graphic designers in the business and in this game they were superb. Sharp, clear and well defined with rich vibrant colours. A feast for the eyes. They must have done something with their programming because unlike their other games, this one ran so much better, about 75% better. That was a huge plus for me, as I used to dread the sluggish mechanics, the lagging and floating I have experienced in the past. The story is, as is to be expected about the werewolf again, and I don't see how anyone could have expected anything else. I must just say that that werewolf is a work of art. So sinister, savage and beautifully drawn. The iHOS are not piled on, but just the right amount to make you forget about them till one shows up. However, they are really lovely and easy to do. No junkpiles, dark corners, or miniscule items. A lot of fun The voice overs are perfectly in synch and well done.. I have only afforded the game 4 stars, however, because there were a few occasions when it lost momentum and became a little tedious, so I started losing interest. But it soon perked up again and I got back into it. It is not exactly an easy game, but the challenge level is somewhat less than usual, but I like that. The puzzles were really simple for the most part, but I like that too. The BC is an integral part of the story, as the main game ends up in the air, so I do not know how they are going to justify the SE, unless they slightly change the ending of the main game. I loved the Parisienne music. On a loop, true, but very effective, keeping me reminded of where the tale is taking place. It took me 5.5 hrs to finish and I hazard a rough guess at about 4 of those hours, I really enjoyed. Good work ERS. October 19, 2012
donna i like this game a lot it keeps your interest not to many object games i like the puzzels better than the hidden object October 18, 2012
