Perfect Adventure This game has a great storyline, which is involving right from the start. The graphics and colors are just gorgeous, and the puzzles were interesting and varied. The trial time zipped by! I will be buying this super-fun and different game that kept me fascinated the whole time! October 21, 2012
Very good game Based on the demo, it's a very interesting end fun game, it goes fluid and smooth along the playing, with soothing music and challenging puzzles and minigames, the story is grabbing and takes you in the midst of the solving mistery; bright colours and sunny ambiance makes thi CE a sure buy! Happy gaming! October 22, 2012
Really not sure I normally like these games straight off but I'm really not sure about this one. It's a nice game, nice graphics, alternative style of HO (definitely liked that) and a decent story line. My indecision about the game stems from the fact that there was so much running around. I actually forgot about the story at one stage and had to go back to the journal to remind me what my goal was. Some of the puzzles were very easy, others needed a little more thinking about. Also, there were an awful lot of cut scenes, possibly too many. For me, they detracted from the game and caused it to lose the fluidity the game needed. I've never used the guide so frequently or clicked the hint button so much - and that was in the casual mode. I would recommend this game but perhaps not the CE version. I'll have to think about it for a while. October 22, 2012
A Beautiful Mesmerising Game I could only have been half a minute or less into this game, when I knew I had to get it. The etherial world of Botanica is mesmerising. The beautiful colours, the strange creatures that live there, it was stunning. You are playing as Ellie, a young women who goes through a portal into this magical world, in search of her father, who is a Botanist. On the way she meets up with people who oppose Queen Cassandra, who need her help. There is a nice little twist in the story. I thought the puzzles were excellent and the hidden object scenes had interactive parts to them, which I really liked. There is a little beetle to find in each scene. Also there are achievements to aim for. I got three at the very end one for completing the game! I would have liked the characters to have been more animated than they were. However, the music was beautiful and fitted in nicely. There is also judging from the tale going to be a sequel. I can't wait. Thanks BoomZap for a glimpse into the beautiful world of Botanica! A rare "buy before finished demo" for me I play a lot of BFG and buy quite a few, but rarely do I get into a demo and know I need to buy the game right away. I really enjoyed this one. Beautiful graphics, music not annoying, none of the scary/dark/freaky stuff but a nice storyline too. I felt some of the ending coming before it got there, but it still didn't spoil it for me. There is a huge open end for a sequel and I liked that too and look forward to it. This game (with the bonus) took me over 6 hours. November 5, 2012
Surprised...its great! I really didn't think I would like this game..the description didn't grab me, but I decided to try it anyway. It was a good decision. I really enjoy this game, the graphics are good, the storyline is very interesting and there is a good level of challenge in the game. November 1, 2012
Awesomely Fantastic!! I was intrigued the moment the "menu page" loaded. I heard the opening theme, and it was beautiful music. The lead character in this game must be pretty special to the developers because her "likeness" is in almost all their games. The HO part of this game is fun, easy to find. The mini-games aren't difficult. I think I only used the ingame strategy guide once. The graphics are great. As a musician, I tend to pay more attention to the soundtracks of a game. The soundtrack fit the landscape and storyline. Play the game and have fun. October 26, 2012
A Wonderful Break from the Mundane I am not a person who ordinarily submits reviews, however, this one left me feeling compelled. I am a person who usually plays HO games non-stop for a couple weeks, then gets so fed up with them I have to step away for a few months, but this game was oh so different. I usually quit playing because it is always the same - some ghost or haunted town where you have to "save the day". This game was totally different. Has a refereshingly new storyline and "Avatar" like scenery. Even the soundtrack fit and didn't annoy me. Some of the mini-games were the same old same old, but they were all reinvented in some way to make them feel new and fresh. Game also leaves an opening for a part II which I hope is in the works and I won't have to wait too long for it. Timeframe was good - nothing irritates me more than playing the hour demo and being really into it so I buy the whole game only for it to end a half an hour later. One of the goals is to finish in under 5 hours I believe, and it took me 6.5 and I'm an old pro at this stuff. Great game and very worth the time and Big Fish credits. GREAT JOB GUYS! Very Creative! Botanica is really impressed me by their beautiful world, which is something I'm looking for after playing too much dark and creepy HOS games. Botanica has good Storyline with different kinds of puzzles. I really love their HOS, which we have to do two or three steps to find the Objects. It's really fun! Some puzzles are really hard and challenged to solve! The voice actors are... alright. In my opinion, the voice actors are not good. This game is really worth for my money and my free time! What a great "Hidden Object" adventure! Fantasy and adventure with unimaginable planets, plants and creatures we have been given yet again with this game. I purchased this game on the video alone and was not disappointed. Sharp and clear graphics. Some hidden objects are a little difficult to find. The music was pleasant, I did have to turn it down. The puzzles are challenging and because of the achievement awards, I tried not to use the hint or skip buttons even though this game took me over 8 hours to play in casual mode. I haven't as yet played the bonus game but I am sure it carries on with the same fun that I have enjoyed playing it so far. At my age of 63, I finished this game and felt like a youngster again. In my youth, I was never able to do picture sliders, but recently, several games had sliders and I persisted with it until I had it solved, And boy, did I feel proud of myself. I don't want to give anything away so I will just add that this game is a winner with me. October 23, 2012
