Truly unique and imaginative My review is based on completed game. The first thing I would like to say is that this game has one of the best strategy guides I have ever seen, which not just holds your place, but follows your progress, so you do not have to find the correct page you need. The story, many of the games, and the HO scenes were well crafted, and also quite uinque. The scenery is just beautiful and colorful, and really unlike anything I have seen. The game and epilogue took me about 7.5 hours to complete, and although there is NO MAP, the game is very linear, and there is little bactracking. Once you have completed one section of the game, you leave that environment completely, as you enter the next. Quite honestly, this is one of the most fun games I have ever played, and I was really sad when my journey ended. It is a great stress reliever type of game, fully enjoyable, with tons to do and see. The little bugs you collect, for which there is one achievement, enable the player to really enjoy the craftmanship that obviously went into the creation of this game. There appears to be a set up for a sequel, and I know that I will buy it right off the bat, since I loved this game so much. This game shoud not be missed. I appreciate the work put forth by the developers, who provided some really peacefuil and fun entertainment. Well worth the CE, for me any way. A bit disappointed that BFG put it on sale the day after I purchased, but I am happy with the purchase, nonetheless. October 23, 2012
BOTANICA....INTO THE UNKNOWN...BUT FANTASTIC PLACE! This game is absolutely a botanist adventure even though its virtual! I have been studying plants for three years now at college and this game is the icing on my 'carrot cake'! It has two levels of play. Get to collect achievement icons in the different scenes which are fun to search for because I for one was all into the great graphics. Storyline was super as it was very optimistic of the girl doing her own journey as her father had done for decades. Do not want to do any spoiler alters but this is a HAVE TO TRY IT! ... then it was discounted on todays game!..Double enjoyment! October 21, 2012
Adventure game Compelling game was so sad when I finished it so glad there was an epilogue. Brilliant graphics and the game was not stuffed full of hidden object scenarios which get boring. New games which tested me! You didn't have to keep revisiting areas which can become annoying and non logical. Roll on the next one!!!!! November 7, 2012
Enjoyed This Game! I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were very nice. I play at work, so cannot say anything about sound because I have to turn it off. BUT -- I was sad to see the game come to an end. November 5, 2012
awesome what can I say about this game - one word "fantastic". Did'nt want it to end it was that good - graphics are brilliant. November 4, 2012
Different but not quite up to par for BFG This review is only on the demo, however the demo didn't quite grab me to the point where I just couldn't wait to see what was next. The story line was definitely unique, but the story starts out with what I believe are too many cut scenes. The graphics in the cut scenes are extremely different than in actual game. The graphics in the game are absolutely beautiful. The voice overs are ok. You do have the option to skip all cut scenes, but then you need to fully read all of the achievements the game does offer. The game does offer 3 difficulty levels, I did play on casual and found that at times I was like ok what next ??. You do have a journal with objectives and a non interactive map, but I still found myself reaching for the hint button more than usual. The hint button is very useful however, it tells you exactly what to do next, hence no real reason for a strategy guide. If you like playing a game with alot of aimless searching, then this one is for you. I will wait on the SE for this one and possibly get it with a free code. It has potential, however I don't feel that it is worth the full price, not with all of the exceptional games BF has put out. I would recommend this game, just not this version for the price. My advice, definitely try the demo first. October 21, 2012
Love this game! I love this game. It had lots of adventure and strategy with a break from the doom-and-gloom of many of the current adventures. Lightly sprinkled with HO scenes, and with a wide variety of games and tasks that kept me riveted. Graphics beautiful and music unobtrusive, great storyline with a good lead in to the next in the series (which I hope will be soon!) October 22, 2012
Absolutely Beautiful! What a joy!! If you love The Awakening series, you'll adore this new little gem. Just visually stunning graphics and a wonderful fantasy adventure. It is pretty much the same set up as Awakening with stunning artwork. Love the achievements and collectable lady birds throughout. (think they're lady birds) all the same, just stunning! There is a map but it's not interactive but it seems quite linear up to now. I do find the puzzles very, very easy though but it doesn't distract from what is a stunning adventure. A lazy Sunday afternoon awaits me and i'm going right back to the game. :-) October 21, 2012
Very recommended Adventure Game The graphic very good. The story very interesting and the game very challenging. Like this very much and looking forward to the next chapter of this game that i hope will release soon (to find Ellie) November 12, 2012
If there were only more like this!!! Overall, I found this to be VERY refreshing. It was bright and colorful. I think one of the more original games this year. I like the idea of some sort of otherworldly botanical setting. Yes, I hope this does become a series. But I hope they maintain the integrity that the first one has. I'm glad this wasn't one of the dark, dreary, lonely games that most developers have been putting out lately. It's been hard for me to buy hidden object games anymore because of the direction they've all gone in. So this was a nice change form the worst that we?ve been getting. Ideologically, this was an improvement and a step up from their previous games. It required more of a leap of faith to make this one. They entered a brave, new, and beautiful world with ?Botanica.? I hope they keep it that way. It was fun and I enjoyed the characters in this game. I was sad to see it end. I?m glad that I ventured into the world of ?Botanica.? November 8, 2012
