Just like so many others
When I decided to take on this casual building game based on a very important time in China's history, I expected something pretty amazing, but what I got was a frustrating recycle of the Roads Of Rome with an Asian paint job. We have a desperate emperor looking to defend his country from northern invaders, Mongols, instead of Germanics, a young man trying to prove his worth, this time an architect, instead of a general, and a princess caught up in the middle between her family and the man whom loves her.
This strategy building game runs pretty much off the standard formulae for these kinds of games. Build your work camp, send working out for supplies and build places to get or make supplies, farms, sawmills, quarries, hunt for treasures, and deal with bad guys or exotic creatures. This time, the creatures that have the little workers running in fear are dragons. While this is a nice change from the regular Western-style building game, there are many other kinds of games out there like it, and they all have one main thing in common. That timer! It seems that they give you more tasks to do with each new level, yet the same amount of time to do them in. If some of these gaming companies could tweak that, maybe they might sell more of these types of games, and then those whom test the games might buy them. As for me, I'll be leaving Building the Great Wall of China aside for now. That timer was the joykiller for me.

Excellent game !
It's really a very nice game; 15-minute demo and conquered I buy it without any hesitation !
The graphics are beautiful, Asian music soft, pleasant and not embarrassing at all. Nice also 2 modes of games available : timed or relax. Of moreover, it is nice to take part in the construction of the Great Wall of China, it is not given to everyone !!!
In conclusion a excellent time management game as I like, the same level as the series Royal Envoy and "Roads of Rome", to be classified in the forefront of this type of game!

not bad but not great either
You need to get all resources to build the wall. You need to plan before you make a move. It's similar to Northern tale but that one was heaps more fun.
This game is not bad at all but not that great either. The objects were tiny and lots of times the screen goes dark - I know it's night time but what's the point of going into night mode when clearly the workers cannot stop and must keep on working for us to get the 3stars? Having said that it is quite challenging to get 3stars on all levels. Clearly it's not as easy as it looks. A good TM game.
Not buying this - there are better TM games than this. But give it a go....still great fun for an hour.

Could have been improved, but not bad
I agree with other reviewers that the main frustrations are:
1. Inability to queue tasks
2. No timer on the buildings so you don't know how long until goods will be produced, which makes it hard to manage your time in what is after all a time management game
And I personally didn't see the point to the dragon. It comes across destroying your buildings but there isn't any strategy you can use to combat this, you just have to keep mindlessly rebuilding.
That said, it's enjoyable enough.

I've Played Better
I was excited that finally BFG had a time management game that fit my taste, but I was quickly disappointed. This game is very challenging, it only gives you one opportunity for speed on certain boards (which it, OMG, needs on all boards). The assignments are spread out all over the board. The characters run very slow and at some points, the game is boring because you are waiting for them to get back to the house to start another task. There are simply not enough power/speed or extras to help you along on this game. I recommend it, but only if you have nothing better to do.

It isnt my favorite
I get so excited when games like this come out and expect that I will buy it before I try it. This one however was slow. You cant pre click so you have to wait until someone is back home before you can assign another task. It was alright but I was easily able to get three stars on each level I played in the trial. I still enjoy this type of game over any other so will most likely still buy.

Another excellent builder-type game!
I'm a sucker for any building game, but I thought this one very enjoyable. I got halfway through the game during my hour demo with three stars on all levels so the challenge isn't there as much as it is for other building games and it seems short, but the interesting storyline more than mades up for that with me. At the beginning of each level, a synopsis of what to do as well as another part of the storyline or an interesting fact is added to draw your interest. I thought the four minigames at the end of each section were cute. Easy, but cute. The only fast clicking I found was in defeating the dragon that shows up on most levels, but it was still doable.
At the beginning of the game there is a setting where you can determine the crispness of the graphics. I set mine on the highest level so the graphics were perfect for me. The accompanying music is peaceful and enjoyable as well. If you love building-type games, give this one a try. Overall a great game!

Enjoyable TM Game to Past the Time Away!
This was a fairly relaxing TM game. It was not difficult at all. For those who just want to past the time away without having to work your fingers to the bone and tax the brain for strategy, this game will do just that. It's not a difficult game and you will quickly pick-up strategies to acquire 3-stars. There are mini-games -- shoot the dragon, find pairs of the same card -- all very easy. The game is not difficult and I don't think it will be a long game. I played for the 60 minutes demo not realizing the time was up. Looking forward to finishing the game.

Boring
I have most all of the TM's for roads, houses, and royalty - likely my most played genre all though good ones seem very few and far between these days. This one seems no different for the most part, not much story line either. The workers are really small as well as the mouse over info.
I do like achievements, but do not like to land on that page after every board.
Come on BF - give us another "Promised Land"

Way Too Easy, Not Worth The Money
This game seemed like it would be fun, I love TM games; the graphics are good and the goals are similar to other builder games. However, it is way too easy to meet the expert time goal - for anyone who likes a bit of a challenge in these games, this game is not for you!! I could have completed many of the levels twice in the time allowed, and although I only played for the one hour demo and didn't buy the game, I get the feeling that if I did purchase it I would finish the whole game very quickly - I think I was almost halfway through when my hour was up.
