game getting a bad rap for no good reason. I purchased Shadow Lake as a CE, something I rarely do since I do not find most of the extras to be worth doubling the cost. My feeling is that Shadow Lake suffers from being an MCF entry. Consider MCF history. Most everyone loves Madame Fate which by today's standard is a run of the mill game. Return to Ravenhearst broke new ground with the inclusion of live actors. This was continued with Dire Grove, 13th Skull and last years Escape game. My feeling is if Shadow Lake were the brainchild of any other developer, more players would be raving about it. We come to expect new and better things from MCF. There is a lot of hype prior to issue because it only issues one game per year. There is much to admire about Shadow Lake. I find the story compelling. The hidden object scenes and the puzzles are well done. The live actors add to the development of the game. Overall my thought is that gamers should not expect the folks at MCF to reinvent the wheel. This is not my favorite MCF game. Yet it is superior to more than half of the new games that have been released in 2012. December 26, 2012
Another MCF winner! I have played so many of the MCF games..I particularly loved the Ravenhearst series with each one getting better and better. I'm always happy when I can find a series that continues its story line the way that one did. I thought Shadow Lake was just as good as any other MCF game that included live characters..just as entertaining and interactive. The best part about MCF games is that you never seem to get "stuck" because clicking the hint button gives you a clue as to what you have to do next and I'm not always able to figure it out on my own so it's much more enjoyable to not have to stop to go look up some walkthrough to help out. I love it and I'm ready to play it again! February 1, 2013
