Excellent HOG This is along the lines of the classic hidden object games, but has a little something extra special! It's challenging, but not to the point of it making no sense. The visuals and scenes are gorgeous. It has a great fun factor with all the different fantasy creatures you come across and have to "deal with". The interactive map is great.. not TOO easy, but very convenient.. and the Extra Game play is definitely worth the price of the Collector's Edition. I've played hundreds of HOGs and this by far has been my favorite one to this date! I've played lots of great ones (ERS Games are usually my favorite), but have never been SO impressed by a game that I bothered to write a review for it. Bravo!! December 25, 2012
Finished Game Review I really enjoyed this game and the different puzzles to solve. Great story and don't forget to take pictures. I will play this again. I don't give out many 5 stars, but this is a fun enjoyable game. GL Fishes enjoy! December 23, 2012
Enjoyed it very much. I thougth it seemed familiar, than I remembered one of the Big Fish survey I did a while ago just called Cinderella. I gave that a good review and I made it a little farther in this 1hr trial. I like the fairie tale story games with a twist. I'll have to get this game to see how it plays out. Not as challanging and detailed as the Dark Parables games like Red Riding Hood Sisters or Exiled Prince but it's seems like it will be a sweet fairie tale love story. December 14, 2012
Place the Object-style HOG is fun and challenging Great for newbies or younger players on the Casual setting, interesting on the Advanced. I didn't play Hard. Depending on your level of experience, I recommend this game. As usual, one must find keys and play mini puzzles in one scene to obtain tools to use in another scene. The graphics are excellent and clear. The storyline may be interesting, but is merely an adjunct to the game and not informative so I skipped it to get back to game play. I can see that some would be put off by the Hidden Object style which requires placing objects in appropriate places in the scenes BUT if you find the style challenging and interesting, this game is for you. I played the demo on Advanced (or whatever is between casual and hard) and enjoyed my hour. Hard might even be more fun. It's certainly not the most difficult game I've ever played; it falls more under the category of light entertainment for an expert but great fun for the new or younger set. December 13, 2012
Cinderella in disguise? I just finished my hour on this game. I thought it might be a good one for a young girl. I don't really like games like this because it was too childish. The graphics were ok , but I don't like hidden objects that you have to find a place for. I won't be spending my money on this one, I'm sorry to say. December 13, 2012
OK Adventure Game Beautiful graphics and music. Ambient sounds hit and miss. Puzzles easy to moderately difficult. Great map that lets you teleport. Good strategy guide, with text and pix. Very good hints, both inside and outside HOS/puzzles. I have every game Elephant has ever produced for Mac's, and have played each one over and over. But I won't buy this one. The storyline is childish and insipid. The gameplay is easy to moderately difficult. I recommend this for beginners and children. December 13, 2012
A refreshing fairytale This is based on the demo but I did just purchase it and look forward to continuing the game. Graphics are excellent and voice overs are well done. Storyline is a refreshing little love story which is a change from alot of the scary thriller types that I like also. It has a map that you can jump to and from locations which is a big plus in my book! A well done game that gets two thumbs up from me and a fantasy fairytale that is great for all ages. Just Awful I finished the demo in such a short time that it makes me believe there is no real length in game play with this one. The HO's - you have to find where things belong, but nothing I experienced was challenging at all. It may be a game a young girl could enjoy, but I don't recommend this game. December 13, 2012
Really cute fun game Played half of demo so far. While it is not my type of game, I found it to be fun. Enjoyed the HOS with finding what goes where. So much more fun than just finding random objects. The hint button is very helpful. Don't know why others didn't like this game, but do agree a young girl would very much enjoy this. This Slipper Doesn't Fit Me. Just because I didn't like this game, it doesn't mean you won't. This is a gentle game and the "bad guys" aren't scary at all. Your mode of transport is a UNICORN. That should tell you what you need to know. Here is the lowdown on the technical features of the game: a. The Voice Overs are OK. b. The cinematography and "set design," as I like to call it, were more than OK. Some would say it's beautiful: Bright and clear, inviting and enjoyable to look at. c. Puzzle not challenging. d. HOGs were easy (too easy for them to be considered challenging). They were very clear and do have a twist: you are given a selection of items and need to place them where they belong in the scene. Other takes on this style show silhouettes and you must find the item and then use it to help find the next item. This is not even that difficult. You are given an actual picture of the item, and only need to place it. It isn't required in order to progress to the next step. e. To Do's/accomplishments: The accomplishment is to take a picture of some of the exotic "fairy-tale" creatures you encounter. It's not much of a challenge: your cursor changes to a camera when you're supposed to take a picture. Once you've accomplished this you're done. There's nothing else to it. And, if you miss your chance, you can't go back. f. There are no achievements, something I always enjoy, like, not skipping a puzzle, or finding three items in three seconds. Of course that's not possible with the style of HOG in this game. That brings up another point: while the difference is enjoyable, its too much of a good thing. Maybe a few of this new style of HOG would be good, interspersed with the old, more familiar style. This is ALL of the one, new type and it gets old quickly. There was not sense of urgency, nor any sense of accomplishment. I played a CE and the difference, from what I can tell, is a bonus chapter along with the typical wallpapers, etc. AGAIN, MANY WILL LOVE THIS GAME as attested to by the very high ratings for it. I didn't want you to discount my review as biased because I think I have made fair and objective points about the standard parts of the game. Consequently, I will say only now that YES, I prefer darker, scarier, entries in the HO, Adventure, Puzzle world of gameplay and this isn't that. As another reviewer put it, "this is about a damsel in distress." That's just not my thing. I can't recommend this. Not because it's not "my thing," but because it really presents no challenge. It's not a stretch. And, yeah, it's unicorns and puppy dogs and it's a Julie Andrews' song. April 23, 2013
