Ridiculously dark you can hardly see the hidden objects so how are you going to find them in the first place. Awful December 19, 2012
POOR ATTEMPT SAVE YOUR $$$ FOR ANOTHER GAME. DARK - EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT COLORS OF GRAY. I STRAINED TO ENDURE THE WHOLE HOUR OF THE TRIAL. SORRY THIS ONE JUST ISN'T WORTHY OF $1. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! December 20, 2012
wolves everywhere As another reviewer said, you will love or hate this game. I loved it! This is only the 3rd game of the horror genre that goes on my favorite game list. In fact, I rarely buy them and if I do I'm usually dissapointed. But, although this one does lack a hint system outside the HO scenes and those are often dark, I completely enjoyed this one and couldn't stop playing. What most endeared me was the wolves that popped up everywhere and the acting. Unlike most of these games, Ashley delivered such lines as "Oh, Grandma", with believable emotion. The game was challenging but that will add to its ability to be replayed. The story was great, with a surprise, involved ending. January 17, 2013
REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME - 9 CHAPTERS SE Animation/VOS - Good but not much of either. Rather disappointing. HOS - More of these than puzzles/mini-games. Scenes are murkey, gray and foggy inside and outdoors. Objects are small. Misclick Penalty - None Map/Compass - Tutorial states interactive but it did not transport for me. Perhaps I did something wrong. Journal - Records photos, Ashley's thoughts and discoveries, grandmother's notes, etc. Hint - For HOS only. Fairly fast recharge. Inventory - Lots of items and no place to use them. This game was a letdown for me and it wasn't what I expected. I started out well enough then got bogged down and needed help. Went into the forum and found a player's walkthrough (with a sense of humor) which I had to read and make notes to finish the game. It was tedious. If there is a sequel to this, I certainly hope the devs make much needed improvements. January 3, 2013
Awesome adventure! This is probably one of the best adventure games I have played in years! If you like super easy hints and maps that move you instantly this is not the game for you. There is no instant gratification in this game. It is all about using your brain. There is a map that tells you where you still need to find things but that is all it does. The only hints are in the HOGs. A couple of things threw me as being odd like using a stone instead of a sledghammer but for the most part it was really cool. This is a game where you actually have to think! The ending was a little too easy as compared to the rest of the game but still nice. I would definitely recommend this game to those that like to play but not use a walkthrough to cheat. It is extremely cerebral in some parts and a lot like being an actual police detective. They don't get any hints! Why should we? December 28, 2012
Short but worth it Really enjoyed this one. Yes, as some reviewers have pointed out, some of the HO are small, BUT that is the point - they are hidden! :) It is a bit dark, but that made it challenging. I enjoyed being able to gather so many inventory items, and loved the fast pace. Only negative for me was that it ended too quickly. I think this is a great game. December 23, 2012
Could have been a good game Review based on the demo which I did finish. I liked the storyline and it did grip me in that I was interested in finding granny..lol. What let the game down was the very dark graphics and constant tooing and froing to find the HOS which would give you the item you needed to move forward. There were a lot of HOs which I don't like but they were quite challenging because of the dark, grainy graphics. Puzzles, what very few I remember were very easy. The map was useful in that it showed you where the HOs were and unfinished objectives, but not transporting which wasn't actually a problem because very few locations. The game is worth a bonus credit if nothing else you want to play. December 20, 2012
Hidden object plus a few puzzles This was a little challenging .... one of those games where you aren't really enjoying it but still want to see it through. Some of the actions required made little sense. The art work for the hidden object scenes left a lot to be desired plus they were too dark. The hint button was only good for the HO. The map was the only way to figure out your next move at some points but it wouldn't jump you to another spot. It is one of those annoying games that sends you 3, 4 or more scenes back for a HO. Story line did not have a surprise ending. It became very lame in the epilogue which made the whole thing a waste because the story line is important to me. This was just barely a OK game. It was OK I liked the game, but I do not know if i like it well enough to buy it, It was challenging in some areas and easy in other areas. HOS was to dark, so if you wear glasses that may be a problem. Map was ok but left you hanging at times, not showing any activities to do. So one had to search around a lot. The hint button I detested, it only gave a general area of the object and was only available in the HOS scenes. Some will like it. some will not. This is one game that is an individual choice. Did the Beta Test As far as I can see they didn't improve the graphics darkness quality in this game. I did the Beta test on this and this was the one point that I emphasized, it was just too dark; you couldn't see items that you were looking for and it would be too great a strain on the eyes. Also the scenes were too grainy. I do wear glasses but with this game you would need night vision goggles in order to do anything. December 19, 2012
