So far so good Played the demo and loved it. The story is really different from the usual. Not too many hidden object games to play. Easy to figure out, but that doesn't distract from the fun of the game. I want to buy this game to see where the story goes because it definitely held my interest and curiosity.. December 23, 2012
Gloomy, but captivating This game is very gloomy and creepy especially at the beginning. But it was the storyline that pulled me in and I had to buy. Graphics are somewhat washed out, but it fits the story and places. Lots to do however HOGs are very repetitive. This game as already mentioned has one of the best stories. It has a map, not interactive, but it helps you with figuring out where to go next. It is of good length and the bonus is just as good. I just wish, being a CE, it should have had a few more bells and whistles, but nevertheless, good game, never got boring. December 24, 2012
Voice From Beyond? Based on trial 2 levels, casual & expert I turned off sound because I found it slightly annoying, but that is personal taste Clear graphics, however, I found the characters somewhat stiff when they moved Interactive HOS and not too many of them, which was a plus for me Fast hint button, another plus Map, not interactive though. so a fair bit of back and forth You have proposed to your girlfriend but have to delay your wedding because someone breaks into your house and destroys a photo album of you both. Then a note arrives from your girlfriend's brother, begging her to come back to their childhood home. The only problem: he has been dead for fifteen years. Of course you both go... Interesting game with just enough creep, good variety of puzzles, and enough of a challenge to keep me playing the full hour. A buy for me! December 23, 2012
Lake House: Children of Silence Collector's Edition Exciting, entertaining, kept me interested. December 23, 2012
Relaxing interesting game A very smooth game, relaxing, not real hard but holds your interest. Graphics are good and I liked the story line. Puzzles are pretty easy but does not take away from the game. I played the complete demo and will buy the game. December 23, 2012
Locks, keys and statues This is an average game with a simple plain gameplay. It does not really feature anything new. The storyline felt very artificial and farfetched. The entire gameplay is about finding locks of all kinds of shapes and putting them into right places to unlock even more keys for other locks of other shapes. HOSes are simple but impossible to find in the expert mode because they do not sparkle and you have to simply click back and forth to find where they are. Very trivial game that takes you back to 2009 with all its features. February 8, 2013
Nice! Well, everyone else has pretty much said it all. Excellent graphics and game play. I liked the combo HOGs for a little change now and then without being over done. Music is nice, games simple. The only thing I really did care for is the SG, and this is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. I really don't like to decipher a picture and try to figure out where something is in a scene. I much prefer written instructions, or at least a little written instruction. Anyway, this was a very nice game. Looks to be a nice length as well. I need to think about this a bit before I decide to buy or not...mostly because of the SG. I'm sure I will probably end up getting it anyway. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for it at all. Thanks for the reviews....Merry Christmas! December 24, 2012
Really enjoyed this game! This game was one of the few that kept my interest and I finished to the end! In my opinion, one worth purchasing, as it is one I will enjoy playing again! February 20, 2013
A wonderful experience in the derelict town of Riverdale This game was simply amazing! I just loved to explore the abandoned town of Riverdale and I felt completely enthralled in the story. This game has no bad or annoying things about it at all. The graphics were wonderful, the music was really soothing, the characters were interesting, I felt everything that the characters were supposed to fell for themselves. My favorite character was Tommy's manifestation to Henry. It was an amazing character and the voice work was impecable. By the end of the game, everytime I saw the mask, I was really creeped out and just wanted it destroyed once and for all. There weren't too many hidden objects scenes and the items were easy to spot. I loved the bonus chapter, I felt that it was a perfect epilogue for the story and the rain effects were supreme. Other thing that I really liked was the "Trivia" section, it was really interesting and fun to read those informations regarding "Children of Silence". Overall, "The Lake House: Children of Silence" has not only a utterly touching and wonderfully told story (as well as a magnificent presentation), but it also has a great adventure to offer you and I think you will definitely remember this game for quite a long time. The Lake House - children of silence - is tops This is the best HOG of the year -- and of 2012, too. The coolest thing is: once in awhile, I actually had an object in inventory when I needed it, which is a big "hurray." And it's rare that I want to watch the skip scenes but this one captivates. Fun from beginning to end. And the ending gave me chills. January 20, 2013
