The beginning of something great... Love this series! It's beautiful, challenging, and engaging. November 26, 2011
Natsfats The first installment to one of the best adventure games on Big Fish Games. I highly recommend this if you enjoy adventure games, there are no hidden objects which I prefer and there is a strong storyline. I liked playing this series in order. Can't wait for the next one. November 15, 2011
Fun Simple Adventure Game This is a fairly simple game with not a lot of challenge. It's a point click adventure where you need to find objects & resolve problems. The storyline is nothing new, the graphics nice, but a lot of the things you need to look for are very small & hard to spot, so not a game for those with poor eye sight. Its main disadvantage is the lack of hints for the puzzles, which are sometimes a little obtuse. Not a long game, would recommend for a bit of light afternoon fun. December 4, 2011
Great game but fair warning.... There are no hints, no skips, no tips in this game. Many items cannot be seen at all, but must be found by simply moving your cursor around the screen methodically until it picks up the name of something you need - then you know to click it. For example, in one scene, you have to find the broken parts of a statue. You can see a few of them, but most cannot be seen at all. Everything your cursor touches in this game will have a name -- solid earth, bush, curb, darkness, etc. Now and then, it will be something other than background (like "round dented object") and, that way, you know to pick it up. If you can deal with a game that doesn't give a whole lot of help, this one is great fun.... I have the whole series and really enjoy the gameplay.... You do get subtle hints here and there, but it's a lot of fun figuring out each scene.... it's mostly trial and error, but do pay attention to the few obscure hints you get. Everything means something in this game. My only drawback is the dream jewels you collect -- there's a lot of verbiage that I find unnecessary as it isn't really a part of the story.... So I just click the jewels three times to collect them more quickly.... Anyway, that's my take on it.... This is a clever, well thought out game -- challenging but not impossible.... Enjoy! One of the best I bought this game back in 4, 2008, this game was my first of the series, its one of the best in BF of this kind, also it was my first truly challenging Hidden object game, the graphics were OK for the time, the music just fine, I think it was beautiful overall. December 31, 2011
My second game!! This was the second game I ever bought from BFG way back in 2007 - scary! Even scarier that I'm still around and I remember this game so well. That is a sign for a very, very good game. Looking back I played this game quickly. I blasted through it within a few hours and although it provided some great challenges and the start of an amazing story, it was too quick for me. Although it can not be faulted at all for the storyline, the graphics, the characters, the cut scenes and the general game play which was very, very fun! This set up a very, very enjoyable series that does nothing but improve as it goes along. January 11, 2012
A Challenge This game is definitely a challenge. I'm no wimp when it comes to HOGs but I had troubles getting through parts of this game. The quality is good and was the non standard in HOGs when it first came out. If you enjoy a challenge from the non standard HOGs then go for it. January 22, 2012
Not what I expected! I had played the other titles in this series and decided to try number 1 and use up a credit. Should have "sampled" it first. Although it looks a bit like the others graphically it plays less enjoyable. Every time you click a dream piece you get a darn pop-up describing it and it halts the flow of the game. After a short while I stopped clicking on them because it was so annoying. Collecting the pieces in fact does nothing to add to the game at all except add points in the end. The game itself to me flows very sluggishly and becomes boring and repetitive unlike the others in the series. Sample before you buy and I highly advise to skip this one and start off with DC2. PART OF A SERIES Based on entire game. PROS: ? Visuals were good ? plenty of scenes and things to do. Music is relaxing and nonintrusive ? Gameplay is lengthy (but I take my time) and challenging ? new obstacles magically appear and disappear as you enter scenes (or shortly after you?ve entered the scene) throughout the game ? Puzzles range from easy to intermediately challenging ? became more thinky later in the game ? Gems are collected and used to create brooches. Finished brooches don?t have a purpose in the gameplay. (I didn?t find all of them and you can?t go back to look). ? No misclick penalties; replay possibilities CONS: ? Visual comments appear when passing over items and were sometimes very annoying. It was somewhat difficult to search for something behind the dialogue box. ? No hint system per se, but inactivity will create a sparkle to get your attention somewhere (sometimes, it seemed to take a long time) July 4, 2012
Dream Chronicles Addict Currently, there are 5 Dream Chronicles games and I became hooked right after playing this first one. I absolutely love the art, the music and the storyline. The puzzles could be a little more challenging, but overall I give this game 5 stars! May 1, 2012
