Good game and not that hard
Not a bad game. Has good voice over and the graphics are also good. The hint button works good if needed. The HOS are different but fun. Have to really look good for some. Have to find house shoes and you get rewards for not using hint button and finding things fast. My biggest complaint is that you are going back and forth all the time to find items to use to keep going.

The Headless Horseman
I have never heard of the makers of this game, but I was impressed! The graphics, the voices, the music, everything was very well done. You get trophies for doing things well, so it kinda gives you an incentive. You won't go wrong with this one!

A good surprise
Ho hum I thought, yet another game based on the Headless Horseman legend.
Yet I was surprised how much I enjoyed the sample of the game we got.
The story carries along at a brisk rate, I enjoyed the atmospheric music and the visuals are moody and set the mystery well.
Some may find it a bit easy & quick to play, but that was something of a relief after some of the games offered lately.

Love this story-FAV
It is about time someone did a game based on this classic tale; always loved it. Detective Crane sounds a lot like Johnny Depp and 1st ghost sounded like Vincent Price...love it!!!
Game is not difficult but challenging enough. I like it when you find inventory and can use the item in close vicinity so you aren't traipsing all over the place to get something done. I like the # of HO games and the variety of them. Puzzles weren't too difficult and I am not a fan of puzzles so this works for me.
The Demo went way too quick and I can't wait until the SE comes out so I can go thru the whole game. I hope the story stays on track and the rest of the game isn't a disappointment. I am ready to complete this classic story and hope there are more like this to come. Thank you BF!

good new game
This game is a must for those who like HO scenes. Overall, it is well done but it did not "grab" me as fast as other games have. There is really no need for a map because you move from one group of small areas to another. This is a very good game for someone who is new to gaming.

REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME
I expected more from this game, even though the demo was not inspiring, because I always think that the first hour can be misleading. In this case it was not. I spent it achieving very little and not getting very far. I should have been warned, but I loved the excellent wide screen graphics, the perfect navigation, which flowed like silk, and I have always loved The Sleepy Hollow Legend.
All of the above still stand, but the game play after the 2nd hr did not improve and by then I was bored. There is little fun factor to this game. It drags on monotonously, with very little or no entertainment value.
The iHOS are a real drag. Some objects are large and prominent, while others are miniscule and the worst ones are the ones which are totally invisible because they are hidden behind other objects. Lot of time spend waiting for a very slow hint button to refill. I got really sick and tired of them and there are far too many. They all have light shafts running through them and of course, some of the items are in the light and I could not see them.
Spent ages acquiring things to open doors or solve puzzles only to find another iHOS behind them. iHOS are supposed to show up on their own, not be hidden behind puzzles. There is a click penalty in them. Listen, devs, I own this game. I payed for it. It's mine for life. I want to play it any way I like. I do not need you telling me "There's no point in guessing" and freezing my cursor. What is the flaming point?
The music was tedious, even depressing. The v/os were excellent. The SG was unnecessary since the chapters are complete in themselves and there are only a handful of locations in each one. The puzzles were the easiest I have ever encountered before and just as dull as the rest of the game. Small children could solve most of them. I did not feel inspired to even bother with the majority of them.
There are achievements and collectibles by way of golden horseshoes, which I was told at the beginning could be used to buy trophies. At that time that sentence did not really register with me for what it was. Why should it? Who ever heard of earning collectibles so that at the end of the game you can buy trophies that you should have earned during the game but didn't because you couldn't be bothered? So, next time you go to replay this game #neeever going to happen#you check out what trophies you earned in the first one and go "Wow, I really cracked this game back then. Look at all the achievements I won." No, you did'nt. You cheated and bought them. Like the stupid Brit law here that allows anyone to buy a Royal Title and have themselves called Lord This or Lady That. Ridiculous.
When you come across a puzzle or an object that needs items to make it function, it does not tell you what you need. Instead it says "I should use something here" or the other one that went "I'll have to think about this". What? WHAT?
Unless you have a degree in Carpentry or a Masters in Engineering, you end up with an inventory as long as your arm, with which you have to run around from puzzle to needy object, trying everything you have and inevitably you have not yet found the needed darn thing yet. So, it's off to the next one. Same thing. Mop my brow and fan my face, I'm out of breath and flat out of interest. Three keys I had, one time, and not one of them opened either of the two doors in the same scene. No wonder it's such a long game.
It took me 5 hrs for the main game #groan# and 1.15 hrs for the BC, which is just another exercise in frustration and boredom and completely belies the ending of the main game, where the Horseman is defeated and banished. These devs decided to invent something that could bring him back so you can defeat him all over again #yawn#, thereby nullifying the traditional Sleepy Hollow Legend..
Having read all the rave reviews here and in the game forum, I was wondering if I am having an off day, or am just tired. Nope. Feel fine and slept like a log. Good job too because I could have dozed of during this snoozefest, many times.
If these devs are not new, it's been eons since their last game because I do not remember seeing their name before and if this is what they have spent all that time on, time to quit and go in another direction.
Dull as dishwater.

A Game above Expectations.
I will say this game has exceeded any game I have played from BFG. The developer Fenomen Games has made a game that another developer has not matched. The graphics are above par. the music is very good. The storyline draws you in so that you want to find out what happens. I Know the story of the Headless Horseman and I enjoy how this has been presented in this game. The voiceovers are really excellent. All in All a game I highly recommend .

Well done all round
Cursed Fates: The Headless Horseman (CE) is an old story with new twists, and is surprisingly engaging.
*Beautiful artwork
*Cut/dialogue scenes that can be skipped or clicked through
*Pleasant, unobtrusive music
*Two skill levels for play
*Achievement awards
*Variety of mini games (although none particularly original)
*HOSs could be quite challenging, with some objects very obscure
No map/quick jump to another area but that's not really needed as the story is broken up into chapters and once an area had fulfilled its usefulness, it's no longer available.
There were few times when the next move was not clear.
Length of game play was also good (several hours).
Bonus game play was also of good length and relative creativity (IME, it's very rare that bonus play is as well done as main content).
Overall, highly recommended.

No new story, but well done!
I don't recall running cross this dev before, but I may have. Nice graphics (a bit fuzzy but passable# and game play. Music does not fit the scene and got boring very quickly. I do like the voice overs #always a plus for me), and they are done very well.
I prefer being able to choose the cursor I want to use, but this one is acceptable. The HOGs are a bit dark and some items are difficult to find, but I do like how they are set up. Also like the need to "combine" items to make something work or to get something else. Games were not difficult either.
This is not a new story, but one that I like. The game was fun. Not a huge amount of running back and forth. You would find a number of items in one location and use them in that location (I liked that).
Don't see that this is a really long game, but hard to tell because the SG stopped working after the first chapter. Even though I know the outcome of the story, I am going to purchase this one. This game did keep my attention and time went by very quickly. Not sure it is CE worthy, but figure I can't go wrong with the sale going on right now. I only graded it down because the story is not new but actually giving it a 4.75.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for it at all. Thanks for the reviews.
