Ok but not worth being a CE Bought this game as it was in BFG half price sale. At first I didn't like it, but it grew on me. Having bought it I then found it quickly became quite dull. I like the linear game play; no need for a map as not running back and forth. Music was nice and added a feel to the game. Storyline silly, but that's what I expect from a adventure/HOG game. Not the worst CE ever, but my gripe was way too many HOG scenes, hardly any interaction in them and 'why keep taking the cursor for over clicking' when nearly all the objects were hidden behind other objects, in gloomy half light and were nigh on impossible to find? This was irritating, and it happened over and again! Good level of challenge, and you can combine objects which isn't seen often in these kind of games. I feel HOG/adventure games have moved on since this kind of game play thankfully. Would suit newcomers to this genre. Hint system was excellent, didn't need SG at all. January 6, 2013
A Bargain for $10 I agree with Rebr2009, except I am buying the CE with the special that runs out today. Thoroughly enjoy playing the game!! January 6, 2013
Sephira Good old fashioned story. Graphics good. I really liked the music. I have only played the demo and reached the end in 50 minutes. The puzzles are, so far, easy. I did not have any difficulty with the HOG and found all of the combs. This is a pleasant game and probably worth the $9.99. I am still trying to decide if I want to buy or wait for the SE. Very Good Game!!!!!! I played the demo and I have to say its a great game. The grafics and characters are amazing. It follows the movie of Sleepy Hollow with Johhny Depp. The HOS were great. I love the collecting of horseshoes. The HOS were not so hard that you wanted to give up and the games were not so hard that you wanted to kick the computer. Never heard of the developer but they did an amazing job! Great storyline!! You go to Sleepy Hollow to solve the mystery of the headless horseman. I won,t get into the story as I do not want to spoil it for you. You have to try this game. I will be purchasing this game. If you like the movie of Sleepy Hollow and The Headless Horseman then this is the game for you!! Happy gaming fishies....... January 8, 2013
Anachronisms abound! Since when was there Photographs or Vinyl records in 1790? The best thing that I can say about this game was that at least it was short! This game was TRULY HORRIBLE! I love scary things and to me, the headless horseman is one of the scariest, so I was SO excited to see this game! I tried the trial and I thought it had potential and would surely get better. HUGE MISTAKE! If you like trying to find invisible or tiny objects and having to go on pointless missions, then this is your game.... As for me, I hated it!! The hidden objects, which I usually find entertaining, was frustrating because the size or color of the object that you were supposed to find was often not the same size or color of the object that they showed you. The hidden object list were a little better, but often they were either in shadow as to be invisible, too small for the human eye to see, or behind other things. If you tried to click around in frustration, the cursor would fly apart and it would tell you not to guess, but you usually had no choice! The tasks were either so easy that it was insulting, or they made NO SENSE whatsoever! For instance, at one point, you had to put a retort (a beaker like object) in the fire with some sulfer on it. I had the retort and the sulfer, but I could not put it on the fire. I went into the next room and talked to a ghost and got another object that was not related, and then suddenly, when I went back into the other room, I could put it in the fire. STRANGE!!! Some of the items that got into your inventory were called "strange object". At one point you look for a "symbol" which turns out to be a fleur de lis. SO, it has to be done in their order and in their perfect spot and you have to figure out what they are talking about! Oh and add to it that things don't make sense and there is no reason for half of the things that you do.... I was rooting for the horseman to lop off my head by the time it ended, and I could not even bring myself to play the bonus content, it was just terrible! Save yourselves $10 and send me a thank you! I literally fell on this sword so that you don't have to! You're welcome! January 7, 2013
Easy Game for HOS addicts Beautiful graphics. Great voice-overs. Excellent strategy Guide. Lots and lots of HOS. Easy puzzles. Objects in HOS are well camouflaged, which is a plus. However... The story/adventure got lost with all of the HOS. You have a fire to put out, but before you can put it out, there are several HOS. You are asked to hurry, so you can save lives, but again, you're too busy doing one HOS after another. Those lives are lost. This game also has items from other time periods. A record player in the 1700's? I recommend this game for those who love HOS. January 6, 2013
I wanted to like this- I really did, but couldn't This game fell flat for me. Maybe I have played so many exceptional games recently that this one just couldn't stand up. As an experienced player, there was just no challenge here. The puzzles were easy, and the hidden object scenes were simply piles of junk to sift through. The voice actors were mediocre at best, and despite trying my best to be involved and engaged it just didn't happen for me. -Nice graphics -Two difficulty settings, but there are sparkles in both settings -Easy puzzles -Trophies to buy from collecting horseshoes -Achievements to earn -Junk pile HO scenes -Locations of puzzle pieces (handle for crank) are illogical and often just plain silly -Dull game play that seems to muddle through what is a fun story January 9, 2013
Mediocre No Map. The game play is repetitive. February 16, 2013
Very Impressed- WOW! From what I gather, this is a new developer, and their first game has amazed me! (based on demo) Good Parts: Amazing storyline- I had never heard of the Sleepy Hollow legend prior to this game. Set in 1799, you must uncover the person behind a series of brutal killings, in which all of the victims are beheaded! Great HOS, very challenging and 2 types. Some had clues with words, others with pictures. Some word clue HOS had extra step objects. I preferred to play the picture clue HOS. Great graphics, everything was clear and modern. Great voice-overs. Achievements. Hint/skip recharge speed is good. Strategy guide is helpful. Throughout the game you could collect horseshoes, which could be used to purchase "trophies" these included magnifyinh glasses, a rifle and a portrait. Able to combine objects from your inventory. OK Parts: Sometimes in the game, I had trouble figuring out what to do next. I was constantly referring to hints and/or the strategy guide. Bad Parts: I didn't like the puzzles. Skipped all but one. Despite the demo going through chapter 1 and a bit of chapter 2, the demo strategy guide only included the walkthrough for chapter 1, meaning the strategy guide was completely unavailable to me for the last 15-20 mins of the demo. #At the end of the demo I had 10 minutes remaining on my 1hr free trial# This is. simply put, a brilliant game. I was happy to play the trial and may consider purchasing the full version. One thing- Due to pictures of headless people and the nature of the storyline, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under 13 years of age. January 9, 2013
Great Game. But why the horseshoes? I love this game. I beliecve it's a good adaptaion of the Tim Burtan's 'Sleepy Hollow'. My only gripe, and it's minor, is teh golden horseshoes. I worked hard on getting all 73 of them and still I couldn't by all the things in the office. I can only play the main game once but on teh bonus game I can play multipule times to get them. Still though I worked hard on find them and got a bit upset that I didn't get to buy all the items. Oh well. Like I said it's a minor gripe to a GREAT GAME!! I would recomend this game if you are or not a fan of this legend in any type. January 7, 2013
