2013 has given us some real duds... and this is no exception
Gogii games has given us yet another SHOCKER. 25 minutes of the free trial was enough for me.
HINT & SKIP
- in the 25 minutes I played, I did not see any puzzles so no skip recharge time can be given.
- Hint takes 30 seconds to charge.
HOS & PUZZLES
- The HOS were cerainly... different. Is that a good thing? In this case it was not. What Blue Tea Games did so well, Gogii failed miserably. Basically the whole point of the HOS is to find many objects, set in to groups. Once you complete each group, you form an object which can be used in the scene. The last object you form is the object you take in your inventory. This annoyed me for two reasons
(a) the amount of objects I had to find was more than other scenes.
(b) I was getting confused in the scenes.I would click on something that would be a place for a formed object.
- I did not see any puzzles, so I'm assuming this is a pure Adventure HO game.
FEATURES
- A diary. Documents your case findings, who you are searching for, etc.
GRAPHICS & VOICE-OVERS
- Graphics are still good, everything was clear. Nothing to be worried about.
- Voice-overs were your average ones. Nothing too special
STORYLINE
- Everywhere I looked, I saw simillarities. The whole mirror thing; simillar to Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors; collecting pieces of one object every time (the mirror shards); simillar to Dracula: Love Kills. The storyline was nothing special at best.
- The intro confused me. Are we helping the mirror get back what is theirs, or are we saving the person who was trapped in the mirror? I only found out after the intro. Bad move on the developer's part.
OTHER NOTES
- One thing that should be noted is that the game does need some form of Startegy Guide. It really should have been a Collector's Edition first, because I was relyng on the hint a little too much.
- There is no map, which is pretty much an esential to every game today.
So to sum it up: AWFUL. When you combine a bad story with bad HOS in a Hidden Object Game; You're gonna get a terrible finish.

IF ONLY THIS GAME HAD BEEN A LITTLE BIT LONGER....
Congratulations to Gogi Games for at last releasing a Hidden PIECES mystery. I love the hidden pieces and have been waiting for months to see one. Rather than picking up stupid rattles or rulers or shoes, stuff not in keeping with the game atmosphere anyway, you are looking for bits of things which you can use in the game itself. Visual quality was excellent and the only drawback, and I agree with the other contributors here, that it was really short. It is very different (love the train) and I really enjoyed it, except for the length. One more mirror would have satisfied me!! Please please use the hidden pieces again as it's different, sometimes challenges you visually and I just love that sort of HOG.

No boring hidden object scene
Finally another game with pieces of objects to find, I love it!
This hidden object games with the lists are getting so boring.
Too bad there are not a lot of games like this.
The game has a nice nostalgic feeling which I'm sure the older generation like me appreciate.

Mirror Mystery
I have just finished Forgotten Kingdoms after redeeming a bonus coupon for it, and am now wondering why I wasted it. I know we all have different tastes in games but I really wish I had a better view to offer you sorry.

imagination, colour, fun and fantasy in a single game
Congratulations to the designers and artists who developed this game. I play with sound off. I skip the story. What a fun game! No lists of boring objects to find. No tools that I'm forced to steal. No houses I'm required to break into. There may be a bolt cutter on a padlock in this game, not sure about that. That doesn't work in reality. If you have a decent padlock. I love the exciting creativity and use of colour and fantasy as well as each hidden object scene doubling as puzzle sets. The extra puzzles were also challenging. I think I skipped a lot. Perhaps too challenging for an ageing/aged brain. The artwork, the characters, the scenes are exceptional and I'm my granddaughters will have fun sharing this game play with me.

The Mirror Mysteries: Forgotten Kingdoms
This was really a different kind of HO game and it was fun to play. I liked the way you had to look for pieces of things instead of just looking for objects. It was really fun.

Enjoyed both mirror mysteries
The first Mirror Mystery game is one of the very few games I have played more than once.
I love the thought the developers put into this game. It was fun and interesting to play. After a number of years, the usual hidden object games fail to interest me anymore, so it was great to see one so different.

Good, but way too short
Loved the story and the graphic. I LOVE that you look for fragments, as I am pretty fed up by always looking for (pretty much) the same things over and over again from a list. One of the main reason why I ended up buying the game after demo.
Minigames are pretty good and new.
So why didn't I give it full 5 stars? TOO SHORT. Yep, there you got it. In capital letters.
