Let's kill them all! I would give the game 4 stars for the graphics and puzzles. The backgrounds are very detailed, sometimes a bit too detailed so that it was quite tricky to find the morphing objects. But one gets used to the rich details after playing a while so that wouldn't have bothered me too much. The puzzles were fun to solve, not too hard, not too easy. The same for the HO scenes, I didn't use the hint button very often. However, there's a big, fat "but" which makes the game really questionable for me: at one point, the game leads you to decide which one of two warring tribes you want to extinguish. I would always consider the annihilation of a whole tribe an inappropriate feature in a game that's clearly addressed to younger players, but to make the player decide which race to kill makes this especially gruesome. The pictures of battlefields filled with countless dead animals and bodies, in pale, washed-out colors, significantly decreased the fun for me. I think there would've been plenty of possibilities to depict the war between two tribes in a less explicit and cruel way. Without that element and with a less brutal story, the game would easily reach 4 stars since it's technical realisation is clearly above average. Because of the very good realisation (except for the story, obviously), I'd recommend this game for adults, but not for teenagers or children. February 24, 2013
Enchantia Not So Enchanting! I know that alot of people will probably disagree with me when I say that this game is truely a mess. A storyline involving fantasy fiction that takes us to the world of Enchantia that is being threatended by the Phoenix Queen who has just escaped 500 years of imprisonment. She is very angry and now seeks a powerful relic that will reinforce her strength. and give her the power to reduce the world to ashes. The game is a hopeless effort to dazzle us with overbearing sounds and visuals that are all in a disarray. The graphics are blurred and the artwork is really over the top. Game features three play modes and unfortunately you have sparkles unless you play Hard mode which eliminates hints and skips. Voice overs are relatively good and you have a basic tutorial that will speak to you which is new. The game is a FROG and a warning to all, for those who enjoy looking for miniscule parts hidden in over-crowded scenes, than this will not only challenge your eyes but will cause mild dizziness and slight nausea. Game features a task list and a mapp (or mystical compass) that will transpot you to areas of interest. There is no journal and basically you wander aimlessly picking up objects and using them inother scenes. One hour of game time was enough to bring on a mild headache and a reluctance to pursue this torment of a game any further. The only thing I can to the developers is nice try but perhaps we need to lay off the 'coffee' before we do the artwork. Also need to work on cleaning up the graphics. Better luck next time but sorry, it's a definite Pass from me. February 14, 2013
Much Better Than I Anticipated! Let me start off by saying I don't review every game I play, but only when I find I have something to say afterward. In this case, the negative reviews and the solid 4 star rating put me off at first, but I picked this game up on the BOGO sale on a whim. I tend to favor fantasy style HOGs, and even though this game is a FROG I decided to give it a try anyways. I'm glad I did! Some of the reviews I read mentioned a confusing story, but I found it to be exactly the opposite. I was engaged the entire time, which is unusual with many of these games. It did become slightly tedious with all the same round "keys" I had to find slots for, but there are far worse offenders in other HO Adventures. I'm one who loves having to remember where I've been in a game, and needing to at times to go back and revisit areas. This game did that expertly. You didn't have to do too much, but there was just enough to keep me wondering and remembering the scenes for the entire game. The puzzles were few and far between--there were far more fragmented object scenes. When there were puzzles they were fairly simple. I would have liked to have seen a little more difficulty here, but I don't think it took too much away from the game. There is a bonus chapter in the collector's edition which adds a nice background to the story that I appreciated. The main story is completely resolved in the main part of the story, but having the extra was nice! All in all, I was very happy with this game. I wasn't expecting a lot, just something to do with an afternoon, so I was pleasantly surprised. If you're a FROG fan, or a fantasy adventure fan, this game comes highly recommended! Magnificent! Gorgeous artwork with epic story! It was really amazing to see a such high quality game. Artwork: Spectacular scenery and gorgeous jewels inlaid items drive you into a fantasy world. The scenery like the elven homeland "Rivendell" in LOTR. Story: I really love the story. The story of most HOS game I have played before were too short, simple or even nonsense. The story told with th world setting of "Enchantia" is just grand and epic. In the Enchantia, there's different races and they all had their own stories or problems. They can be treated independent but actualy they are part of the main story. Just like our realistic world! The story of dwarf even made me had cried 2 times. Even the story content is profuse, you never feel the gameplay is paused by the long-winded words. Story content are not forced to read in dialogue or movie, but explored by yourself from the scenery. There's even Characters' profile in bonus content for you to go through the world of Enchantia more if you love the story. Gameplay: There's many characters and you can talk to all of them. But you never forced to talk or any important information will be missed if you skipped to talk. For the player who just enjoy the game, you can just enjoy the game. There's objective reminds you what should do next. There's even a choice for you in the game, choosing which gang (Horse or Wolf) you would like to help. That's creative in hidden object game instead of a linear gameplay in a planned story. I would like to have more "decision making" in the game. I do hope it will be a serial and look forward to the next chapter! April 24, 2013

Not the best by Blue Tea, but a good game for the most part! While this isn't the best Blue Tea game out there, it's not quite as bad as I was afraid of from some of the reviews. I would honestly rate it at 3.5 stars, but obviously I can't actually do a half star in the rating above. It's not quite as well done as some of the Dark Parables games (not counting the most recent one - it's about as good as that one), but it's a relatively good game. Much like the Dark Parables games, it's a fractured hidden object adventure game, so if you don't like fractured hidden object games, I would say this isn't the game for you. First off, the graphics are quite nice, and are pretty much as nice as you would expect from a Blue Tea game. Occasionally, they aren't quite as clear as some of the other games, but I can't say I found the graphics to be terribly out of focus as some did. They are fairly colorful, but no worse than some of the other fantasy-genre HO games I've played. Frankly, I prefer occasional slightly out of focus colorful graphics to occasional slightly out of focus dark and gloomy graphics. Only a few times did some of the fractured pieces I was looking for in the hidden object scenes not match what was shown well - I would say maybe three or four pieces in the entire game didn't look a lot like the picture, but it was close enough that I was able to guess at the piece in the scene. I never had to use a hint to find any of the pieces. The animation isn't quite as good as some of their other games. For the most part it's as if just bits and pieces of a still picture were animated, mainly faces, which can look a bit odd at times. That being said, some of the animated scenes are better than others. There is an awful lot of dialogue in this game, which is one of the flaws. The story is good, but I don't feel that quite so much of it needs to be done in dialogue. And since the voices don't always match up to the mouth well, it's not as enjoyable to watch as it could be. The voice acting is also only so-so - the phoenix queen is a bit overdramatic (which isn't exactly a new thing to this genre), and some of the others are just there. However, I've seen worse in other games, and it's not too hard to ignore the issues with the speech. I could just wish there was a bit less dialogue and more of the story given in other ways. The rest of the sound (effects, music, etc.) is nice - pleasant, not obtrusive, but nothing you'll be wishing you had on CD later on. The mini-games (beyond the hidden object scenes) are enjoyable, and relatively typical for this developer. They're not exceptionally hard for the most part, though there are a few with some more challenge than others. There's no journal in this game, just an interactive map, which is a bit of a disappointment and might make the game a bit more of a pain for some. Some of the choices you can make and things you do in this game may also upset some people - it's not constantly a happy, happy, joy, joy game. But it's not necessarily any worse than many movies and books out there, and is certainly more pleasant than the story in many of the horror-like hidden object games. It is less pleasant than many in the fantasy-genre, though. You have to put things in exactly the right spot in this game, which may be frustrating for some, especially when you think you are putting it in the right spot. This doesn't necessarily apply in the hidden object scenes, just in the placing of objects from your inventory. The gameplay also doesn't seem as long as some of the other Blue Tea games, but it's not exceptionally short, either. It just ends up feeling a bit underdeveloped, ultimately. And the bonus gameplay really is a bonus - it's not just a continuation of the storyline, so that's a good thing. Ultimately, this game may not be enjoyed by some, but I got some entertainment out of it. Would I pay full price (even game club full price) for it? Possibly not, but if you can get it on sale or get it for free (which is how I did it), I'd recommend it. Again, Blue Tea has better games out there, but this one isn't necessarily bad, either. Give it a try! February 17, 2013
Really Disappointing Blue Tea Games, you should be ashamed of yourself. You can, and have, done so much better than this. Poor graphics are a jumbled mess. HOS are find bits and pieces in that big jumbled mess. Personally, I really dislike this kind of HOS. Voice overs are irritating. Music and sound does nothing to enhance. Too many cut scenes. Too much time wasted. I found this game quite irritating, and will not buy it. Please do the trial first. Then decide. By the way, why are the 5 stars always displayed first on the reviews. You have to press most recent first to get a balanced review. February 14, 2013
I'm in LOVE!! I love the games by this developer! All of the HOS are of the fragmented variety and everything is used in the adventure. Story line: evil queen/goddess returns to lay waste to the countryside. You must stop her or all is doomed. It is 1 AM here - I played 15 minutes and my pillow is calling me. When I get up, I am definitely buying!! February 14, 2013
Baffled by negative reviews...this one's a winner TITLE?Enchantia: Wrath of the Phoenix Queen VERSION?Collector's Edition (full game) DEVELOPER?Blue Tea Games GENRE?Fragmented Object Puzzle Adventure (fantasy) STORYLINE?The Phoenix Queen feels that the various races of Enchantia have abused the land, and that it is her duty to cleanse them from the world so that life may begin anew. It is your task to stop her and save the races from extinction. OVERVIEW?Having read the other reviews, I'm utterly baffled. Some people gave this game negative reviews because they don't like FROGs, which is like ordering lasagna with mushrooms then complaining because you don't like mushrooms! One person protested that they'd never heard of this fairy tale, as if originality should be penalized. Several mentioned "blurry" or "grainy" graphics; they were certainly crisp and clear on my MacBook. GAMEPLAY?Standard Blue Tea point 'n' click adventure interspersed with FROs and puzzles. The storyline unfolds through a mixture of cutscenes and character dialog, some of which is a bit long, but there are subtitles so you can click to continue once you've read the text. There are many items to collect, both found along your way and through the FROs. You can also collect enchanted objects (the ones that morph). INTERFACE?The map is actually a magical compass which transports you between the areas of Enchantia. Within each area, there is no map, but since each area is limited to a few "rooms," you don't need one. The hint meter shows you specific items in the FROs. I didn't use it in the adventure part, so I can't speak to how it works there. TECHNICAL?No issues. GRAPHICS?Extremely colorful, well-drawn, and incredibly detailed. Classic Blue Tea graphics. The FROs are quite ornate, and the pieces you need to find are well-integrated into the scene, making a nice challenge and giving you time to enjoy the scene itself. I think I used three hints throughout the entire game, all in the FROs. CUTSCENES?There are two types: narrated storyline and character animation. The narrated storyline is done in a more monotone palette, as if you're viewing a manuscript. The character animation is quite lifelike, the animation itself smooth. MUSIC?Orchestral and appropriate to the scene. There are some quite dramatic pieces and some haunting melodies, depending on which part of the game you're in. Very well done. SOUND?Ambient sound really stood out for me. There were lots of atmospheric sounds that were reminiscent of Myst: low tones that played on your emotions. You almost don't realize they're there, but they have a huge effect. Game sounds were appropriate and not annoying. VOICEOVER?Quite well done, I thought, without melodrama. SUMMARY?Writing this review without revealing too much was difficult. When I look at reviews, I ignore the stars and actually read what each person says. Hence my "overview" comments. I feel that a lot of reviewers panned this game unfairly. I thought the storyline was original, which is a rarity these days with the plethora of puppetmasters, disappearing relatives, snow queens, and dissatisfied ghosts. I happen to like FROGs, as I'm sick unto death of junkpile HOGs where you acquire a knife, use it once, then stupidly don't get to keep it for the rest of the game and have to keep looking for new knives (or other sharp objects). For once, I'd like to keep the bloody screwdriver/knife/hammer I worked so hard to find! Whereas the items you find in FROGs are unique and for a specific purpose. Lastly, Blue Tea never releases throwaway games like so many other developers I could name. Clearly, a lot of time, work, and attention to detail went into every aspect of this game from the storyline to the artwork to the music to the programming. Compared to a lot of other games I've spent $13.99 on, Enchantia was a steal. I thoroughly enjoyed it and feel I got my money's worth. My only caveat would be the long dialog, but you can skip through it. I recommend this game and rate it 4 and 1/2 stars. February 21, 2013
Enchantless! Just finished this game. I must say I was way disappointed. It dragged out to long. I saw the map at first and it had many interesting locations on it but you only get to go to a few of them. I thought it was very childish like cartoon. Storyline like LOTR theme. Characters looked silly and where annoying. There are no HOS just fragment find to create an object which where too hard and had to use the hint button as some items didn't even look like the ones you had to find. There was too many of these and they became a chore not fun. Random clicks helped, then the pointer bursts into flames for a few seconds!! When doing a mini game you can't access the strategy guide and if you need to look at it you have to click the back button and access it which wipes your progress in the mini game which automatically resets. The bonus chapter in the CE sends you 500 years into the past to revisit the same scenes doing some of the same puzzles as in the start. February 23, 2013
