Great Game A very good HO game, the graphics are good and the music, in fact everything was. Like the idea of the riddle you have to solve to get your item, also after you complete the game you can choose on extras to play the HO Games again and also the puzzles. This worth the CE price as it lasts a long time February 1, 2013
Well ... definitely not a worthy archaelogy dig ... I love archaeology very much and looked forward to playing this game, as it gave the impression of an adventure game. However, I just couldn?t get a grip on the story. It lacks smoothness. You really just play one scene after the other without really moving forward and the game has certainly no adventure factor at all. Nada. A straight HOG. The graphics could have had potential, because the locations are nicely drawn, yet I do not appreciate grainy graphics at all, as it gives a blurry look and also makes it hard at times to find or identify objects. As with meanwhile almost all CE you?ll have to collect blimps and butterflies, the map I have found a bit mediocre, but helpful (although you don?t really need one). The iHOS are standard, and again, this grainy look - considering that I finished 3 HOS in a row under 3 min. each (one even under 1 min.), you can imagine that they are simple? Very few mini puzzles, and yes, they are ok but not outstanding. As a ?helper? to shoot down objects you have a bow/arrow in your permanent inventory. Two modes to play, standard and expert. Now, the cut-scenes (not during the introduction, but later on during the game) I have found really really really bad ? and I started skipping them. What really unnerved me (in particular at the beginning of the game), that it shows you about every 2 minutes that you have to fulfil a task, that you achieved the objective ? ahhh?. and this black banner is rather large and stays on for quite a while on your screen, absolutely unnerving! The only thing I appreciated about this game was the woman?s voice: a clear and smooth voice. But the rest? Well, having played recently two excellent games, this one is definitely a no buy. Very standard and certainly not worth a CE. It?s actually a pity, as the story line could have been good, it?s just badly told. And the game is most certainly not an archaeology dig, that would knock you off... giving you the thrills, as you have discovered the worlds biggest treasure ever found. It's rather like building a sand castle, and I guess that would be even more fun. I give it a 3-star; the developer made an effort, but simply missed the goal. January 27, 2013
An Almost Terriffic Game I've played 40 min. of the demo and am considering buying but....The story is nothing new but well done with just the right amount of suspense. I found the music annoying but keeping it low did well as background. The graphics are well, sorta cartoonish (except the HO's# and many #especially aboard the airship# are dull colored and sometimes hard to distinguish items or areas. But hint recharges qickly, enjoy collecting golden blimps and the tutorial is actually helpful! The VO's are a bit over acted but given the eerie storyline, they work out fine. I'm gonna finish the demo and decide. The guide is good but doesn't have photos of puzzle solutions #so far) but does keep your place when closed and reopened. Give this one a try and weigh the pros and cons and you may find that it's a keeper! January 27, 2013
Riddle Me This Things that stood out about this game : ~ loads of achievements & items to collect. My favorite being the 40 golden blimps. Yea I'm a fan. ~ riddles within the HOS - This is the first time I've encountered this and it was REALLY fun. ~ pop-up objectives and completion of objectives messages. I find this very helpful. Other than that, everything else was OUT OF THIS WORLD! :P January 27, 2013
Amaranthine Voygae: The Tree of Life Collector's Edition Amazing graphics, interesting details, excellent music, intriguing sound and VO, nice cut scenes. Interactive HOS. Mini games are not difficult. Interesting locations, you never get bored. Two play modes. Many many items to collect: The game has 6 chapters, bonus chapter, bonus mini games and 20 achievements. Should have Stuck to the Original Atlantis Idea ... I think everything that needs to said about this Game has already been said, beautiful Graphics, etc. The Hint system was excellent (shows you where to go next if you get stuck). My only objections is the Storyline didn't really grab me at all. I excepted a much better Story than what was presented. Also no Screensaver? You would expect at least one to be offered for this price. Would I play it again? No. February 17, 2013
Worth purchasing I usually don't like purchasing HO games, as once you have done them, playing them again is just a memory challenge but this one seems different. There are a lot of extras to be played after the game itself is done. Storyline is a little thin but cinematics are easily dismissed so you can get on with playing. Nice challenges. February 7, 2013
Dissapointed After seeing good reviews and the screen shots, I was looking forward to playing this one. However, I've been left wondering if I'm even playing the same game! The graphics were really fuzzy, were the cut scenes. There seems to be rather a lot of them too, but maybe it was just because the poor quality was bugging me. The hidden object scenes were poor quality graphics wise too, but still very easy. I think I got my "10 objects in 10 seconds" in the first or second scene. The puzzles were also far too easy for me, all bog standard ones that we've all seen before, and required very little thought to quickly complete. I also found objectives constantly popping up, even though it was pretty obvious what to do next, and everything I clicked on gave me exact instructions what to do as well. I know the sparkles debate goes on, but if I choose the harder setting which specifically states there will be none, that's what I expect, why offer it then not deliver? Big intrusive sparkles over every hidden object screen, which on top of everything else, made me feel as if I was playing on a very easy difficulty level. The music and sound effects were good, and would have gone well with the settings had the graphics been better. There are also achievements and collectibles, which I also like. The story line could have been interesting too. Such a shame, could have been a good game, but let down by poor graphics, far too much 'hand holding', and little to no challenge during game play. good, easy, but gets boring has voice over but a lot of talking and video. The game is quite easy. the HOS are easy and the puzzles are not challenging at all. Has some flow but too much talking and the game is too easy to get into. Not bad. Good for a beginner. May 4, 2013
WOW !!! I purchased this during the President's Day Weekend Sale. Wonderful piece of work! The colors, puzzle mechanincs, transitions, sfx were all hats-off. Lots of stuff to do. The only thing missing is a zip-map to facilitate quick travel, but the map used here will get you through. I missed 1 blimp, but managed to snag the other 39 plus the 14 red butterflies. I watched the bonus "making of" and "pre Amanthine" videos. There was no sound for either. That's ok...I can get over that, but this should be addressed. I love this game! February 21, 2013
