a lot to offer Quite a bit of work went into this game and I always appreciate that. There were achievements galore and collectibles also. There was a mystery achievment where you had to make each owl hoot. It also showed your objectives as they were introduced into each scene. There was a diary that you actually had to use to complete puzzles. And some of the mini games were new and fun. The story starts out on a blimp which quickly crashes and you find yourself in some kind of ancient ruins. And that's where for me, the storyline gets a bit wonky. Although I did like how you placed missing peices into circular objects in the wall and they showed a cut scene wth more of the story. The story itself was interesting enough but it just didn't seem to jive with these live actors. But honestly I've played a lot worse games. This one had enough plusses that a kind of odd storyline could be overlooked. i really liked this one. There were also lots of extras. Really well put together package and some value for the money. AWESOME GAME...BUT... LOVED THE GAME..LOVE THE 3 BEYOND OBJECTS TO FIND..EXCEPT 1 MAJOR ISSUE..WHEN COLLECTING THEM THERE IS NO WAY TO COLLECT THE OWLS..YOU CLICK ON THEM & ALL THEY DO IS "HOOT HOOT" NUT OTHERWISE VERY WELL TOLD STORY & GRAPHICS WERE GREAT March 5, 2013
NOT MY CUP OF TEA!!! I love Hidden Object/adventure games and I consider myself to be a bit of an expert as I have been playing for quite a number of years and was looking forward to playing this one, but I did find the HO scenes too crowded and would have been nice if the map had been interactive as there is a lot of going backwards and forwards. I found the game to be very slow and a bit muddled, on the plus side it has beautiful graphics and a very good storyline but unfortunately was not my cup of tea. February 19, 2013
Dumb Game Based on playing the demo only, this has got to be one of the dumbest games BF has offered. Really bad story with corny dialog. Barely average artwork. HOS and puzzles are standard fare and easy. I can't imagine paying the CE price for this dog. I wouldn't buy it if it was the deal of the day. January 28, 2013
Not for me I'm afraid Postitives: Yes, the graphics are great. There are collectables, which I enjoy. But I am afraid that I found the dialogue irritating and over long - simply holding up the action, and the cut scenes, giving the background to the story, felt like padding. The HOGs and games were too easy - I kept getting 'achievements' for completing a HOG in less than three minutes. So I won't be buying. January 27, 2013
It's alright... This game I found had too many HOS games. My biggest issue was the huge amount of chit chat that couldn't be skipped. Some can, but a lot can't be. A bit different in that its not really spooky. Got bored quickly having to find shapes to fit objects, and the puzzles were too easy. Each scene had a blimp/grenade you had to find, plus a dozen butterflies throughout the game (who knows why)! Not a bad game, but there's far better available. January 28, 2013
Not recommended I have not finished the game and already I am looking for another one to play. I found this irritating and in the end kept returning to the hints just to hurry it along. It goes on too long and there are too many things one has to find before you can move forward at all.. each time you arrive in a new scene it requires any number of items that are not in your itinery and have to be found, despite the number of items you already have. For this reason the game seems too long and boring February 9, 2013
Didn't grip me in the trial and therefore no buy for me. The game starts with the advice that the game is best experienced with the sound on, something I can't confirm. I tried it with sound on and with sound off and the experience didn't change. In fact, I found the sounds annoying if anything. At first constant wooshy sounds, interrupted by loud bangs and the usual jingle when after I found something important. When you get into the jungle there's hardly any sound at all, which for a jungle is a bit unusual. From the title I was looking forward to a great expedition, but no, very early into the game some red fuzzy entities appear and tell you to hand the relic you found or else. These I found really annoying, because they whoosh through your screen for what seems to be ages until they disappear and you can get on with what ever it is you need to do. Really frustrating. The graphics and artwork aren't exactly the Creme de la Creme either, so I'm really not sure why this mediocre game was launched as a Collector's Edition. In the Hidden Object Scenes you have the find the usual items with some items being interactive and at the end of each one they added a bit of poetry in a futile attempt to make it a bit more interesting to find the last item which is also happens to be the only useful one. To that add some stupendously easy puzzles and boredom is guaranteed. January 27, 2013
Thank heaven for the mute button! I agree the graphics are nice...but that is not enough to carry this game. To start with, the voices are the worst I have ever heard! The heroine sounds like a 3rd grade school teacher reading a story, and after I heard the captain doing a laughable Walter Cronkite impression I had to hit the mute...also, when the heroine is giving some exposition, she says she has been "journalling"...there's no way that's a word! So, I was not off to a good start right away. The story itself is okay, although sort of disorganized (is this a sequel or something?) and I got the feeling that the devs added a lot of frills to pad out the actual play. You get to collect butterflies and blimps, and possibly other things..not sure, as I only discovered those things by accident. There is an owl in practically every scene, although I'm pretty sure owls don't hang out in the jungle. I thought they were gonna be collectibles, but they were not..so go figure. There is a map, but it is not a transporter, and there is a LOT of traipsing back and forth. The journal has the story and, for some reason, a play back button for scenes that are not important, and also has a list of your current objectives. One other reviewer said that the hint told you exactly what to do, but I found it only pointed the direction or indicated an area that you could do something to...it does reload quickly though. I did enjoy the HO scenes with some interactive items but overall I did not enjoy the game enough to lay out the expense of a CE. I thought it was too disjointed and silly...sorry. January 27, 2013
interesting game Aspects I liked: Interesting story map good assortment of HOS and puzzles enjoyed the riddles at the end of the interactive HOS Aspects I found less appealing: Scenes were far too busy Sound became so annoying I had to turn the volumn down could not jump from the map I do think many gamers would like this game.
