Having a hard time understanding this one Graphics are great. I really liked the first one but having a hard time getting into this one because it seems harder. Seems like I cannot figure out what to do next. Must be me. The puzzles do not give much directions and not many HOS. I'll keep pussing thru. February 16, 2013
A-ONE, TOP NOTCH, SETS THE STANDARD, NONE BETTER BASED ON GAME PLAY IN 2nd of 3 modes What is not to like about this game? The problem is what to play next that will compare.... From start to finish the action is plentiful, fun, unique, and completely in sync with the storyline. The design, artwork, and every last detail is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done, cohesive, and original. Fairy tale themes tend to be a bit syrupy for my tastes, but not so here. Very cool. Absolutely brilliant game. Hats off to the team that brought feast o' fun to life! Even at the opening HOS to go through the schoolyard gates was a dramatic attention grabber and the action never stopped. I had more fun playing all aspects of this game than any other in the past year. If you like Adventure, iHOS, MINI-GAMES, sinister bad dudes and some fun thrown in this is a don't miss. GAME CONSTRUCT -------------------------- MAP=Yes. Allows Jumping to locations already visited JOURNAL=Primarily Reference STRATEGY GUIDE=Tracks with game so no searching for the right page accidentally picking up unwanted hints BLACK BAR=A least in Advanced mode provides info with gratuitous hints. HINT=Didn't use, don't know. iHOS=Very clever, very different, very fun MINI-PUZZLES=Varied in level of difficulty, clever, fun, and original COLLECTIBLES=YES. Fairies, cleverly hidden in plain sight ACHIEVEMENTS=YES, the usual length of play, accomplishments, speed of play, .... GREAT, GREAT, GREAT GAME. Just as it is after finishing a terrific novel, now to find one that will capture my interest as much as this one did...... February 3, 2013
Bucking the trend of "GREAT!!" Reviews for this game I played the entire game, not just the trial. I found this game to be super easy and I am not a great gamer. I can't for the life of me figure out the warning about needing to be 14 or older to play. The plot was easy to figure out the the ending is only a sequel for the next installment of the game. For $13.99, I was seriously disappointed. Seriously,. February 10, 2013
Very disappointed after previous in series I really like this developer's artwork, but really did _not_ like the games in this one because the instructions were unclear. I've never used the Skip button to get past irritating or impossible mini games so often before. I feel this was a bit of a waste of money. February 9, 2013
Just don't get the hype I read the reveiws when the game first came around, sounded good to me. Played the demo and thought it seems like a nice game. beautiful graphics and music. Well, after buying and playing a bit more, the story became so ridiculus it took alot away from the game as a whole. This is the first time I have found this in a game. Graphics were the only thing that kept me playing. I found by nearly the end I couldn't wait to finish.(gotta finish cuase I paid for the game) . Well No playing bonus content it probably would just be more annoying story line. Uninstalled without even going to the bonus. Just not for me. February 17, 2013
Something new! In this game you travel back forth to different times and dementions. There is a choice of 3 levels of game play. The hint button is just that, a HINT. There is a guide a a jump map which are useful. The HOS are a bit more demanding that some and there are not too many of them. I found some of the puzzles to be easy and then others were a bit difficult to understand. The mix of challenge was enjoyable. Good news--the skip button is ready when you need it! The story kept my interest and the fact that there was new and inovative puzzles and all the features listed above makes this a game I want to buy. February 3, 2013
Enchanting Game Remembering how much I enjoyed the Otherworld: Spring of Shadows, this sequel takes up where we left off, once again protecting young Fiona from the evil Fey know as the Shade. Our adventure continues as we search for Fiona's missing Teacher who seems to hold the answers as to how to stop Shade from taking over the world with his dark Magic. At first I found the graphics to be a bit off, much like illustrations from an old fairytale book. I remember that the graphics from the first game to be much better than the ones I encountered here. As the game continued, graphics got better and I do love the artwork in some of the scenes. The voice-overs are very well done as is the music and ambient sounds that do enhance the overall game experience. Gameplay includes three play modes and there are a list of achievements as well as collectables. There is a journal that also outlines tasks as well as a map that will allow you to travel to locations. An entertaining HOPA with great puzzles and interesting mini-games that do require some elbow grease. HO scenes are interactive and items easy to find. Overall, an enchanting story with entertaining gameplay that I am sure will please everyone. I found myself totally emersed into the story and am a big fan of fairytales and fantasy. Will be enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon with this one. February 3, 2013
Wasn't expecting to be this disappointed! Sometimes sequels fail to live up to the standards set by their predecessor, and when they bomb spectacularly it's always like a little punch to the gut. I couldn't wait to play the second installment in the Otherworld series - I was enchanted by the grown-up fairytale presented in the first game - but this one is dull as dirt. The storyline is silly and uninspired, the games are either absurdly, childishly simple or come with frustratingly vague instructions - either way, they weren't even a little bit enjoyable - and, as has been said before, you spend all your time running back and forth to complete boring tasks. I spent an hour waiting for the game to become more like the charming, engaging Otherworld of the first game. It never happened. And I'll never get over this tendency at BFG for disappointing sequels to get exceptionally high ratings. Why?!? February 11, 2013
Bird phobias? Beware! I just finished the demo and I am going to buy this one! So much to do you can't get bored. First of all what beautiful graphics, even the dark scary scenes are well done. Everything about this game is different, most of the puzzles are new and challenging but you can skip them. The HO's are different, some of them list finds, some of them are a series of riddles that you must figure out what they mean then pick that item, and one of my favorite ones in the beginning was to find crows hidden in a gate. Great story, achievements and 60 faries to find! February 3, 2013
Ho Hum I loved the 'other" Otherworld "game so was looking forward to playing this one. I found the mini-games to be either extremely easy or absolutely behond my IQ to figure out. Even after using SG(which I hate doing) some of the mini-games still didn't make any sense. I played through the whole game, only because I'm stubborn but put it on my list of "don't bother replaying". February 20, 2013
