Different but in a good way!! From the first moment you start playing you will notice that it is different from most games. It moves along at a nice pace and is not difficult to follow. The help button is very good. The games are fun and challenging and different from most games. You pick up a little companion as a helper. The graphics are beautifully done and sound is good. The storyline takes place in Notre Dame cathedral and is very interesting. I liked the game from the very beginning and it just got better the longer I played. I hope you like it too!! The Sequel Even Better than the Original 9! I rec'd this HOG for Beta testing. I played about an hour, when the program says, more or less, if you want to play again to beat your time, go ahead and play it. I yelled out loud! I didn't even get back to the Stonemason shop. I have to buy this to finish this great HOG. With many creepy gargoyles (alive!) attacking you. You get a cute little monster to guide you, too. Buy it! You'll love it. February 11, 2013
A new twist on an old tale Overall I found the game enjoyable at times, but it never really grabbed me quite like the first one did. With that said I would recommend this game to beginners or intermediate players. If you are an expert at HO and adventure games then you'll likely benefit by waiting for the SE to come out. The BC was okay, but I didn't think the CE was worth the extra money I paid. There are achievments to be won, but most of them are your standard achievments like; completed 10 HOS without hints, completed puzzles without the skip button. In order to get all the achievments you'll need to play the game in each mode of difficulty, meaning you'll have to play it 3 times. I thought that was a little excessive. I will not be getting all the achievments. One time was enough for me. March 9, 2013
Adventure in Paris The game takes you all over Paris. You are a detective looking for a missing girl. Lots of HOS that are interesting. March 5, 2013
Boring The game is ok just not much story or excitement. The ending sucks February 26, 2013
The dark side of not having so much fun Game quality, puzzles, and HOS were great, but the storyline--ok. The bad thing was the first half of the game was good, but the second half made no sense. The sequence of events was so whacky there is no way I would have been able to muddle thru w/o the strategy guide. As it was, I could not finish the game because the it drove me nuts trying to second-guess what the main character was supposed to do. Sorry, this is one of a very few I did not like. Whats not to like? This game has it all! Acheivements, beautiful graphics, wonderful music, and a cute little gargoyl to help you investigate. During a festival all the buildings gargoyals came to life and kidnapped the mayors daughter. Everyone thinks it was part of the festival so you must investigate without alarming anyone. Many different rooms and buildings to investigate, many items to collect and use throughout the game with challenging puzzles and fun HO's.This is a must buy! February 16, 2013
FANNNNTASTIC.... What i love about this game is the background sounds: Wind Wispers... Very easy to play and just enough HOS (very easy) to keep into the game. The only ''bemol'' is the end...it just stop abruptly...that's all folks...that's it...end of game. Glad to have the SG, and the map #that will brings you directly# love that. The game excellent. Wish I'd waited for SE Debated between a 3 and 4 but had to round down based on the very weak bonus game. Recommend the SE rather than CE. The strategy guide really isn't needed because the interactive map will tell you where you need to go next. That's actually a life saver in the regular part of the game because you will spend your first 30 minutes moving from space to space without accomplishing anything beyond noting the lock, key, emblem etc you will need to open whatever. By the time you find whatever it is, you'll have long ago forgotten where it goes. The story is weak but I really don't place a lot of emphasis on that. I like good game play and after buying the CE spent the next 30 minutes regretting my purchase but then I actually enjoyed things as I finally began to find the needed "keys, etc.". The puzzles were okay; some easy but tedious; others were actually challenging. I skipped one because the third time I did it I almost got it but was one shy and just didn't have the interest to try again. The next time I skipped one was in the bonus game and that was because it was easy but tedious. While there are achievements, they are lame. Reminds of the awards you'd get in elementary school for just showing up or participating cheerfully. No morphing objects. As I said, the interactive map is great (you can jump to location) and that is really all the help you need. Recommend waiting for SE but well worth a sale or coupon purchase. By the way, the first "9" is better. And bonus game on this lasted about 30 minutes and was a prequel so definitely just a filler. February 18, 2013
Fantastic game!!! Great story, beautiful graphics, HOs with interactive parts, archievements, map to jump from scene to scene, 3 modes... Thats what I need for a great game!!! February 10, 2013
