The good and the bad...
The good is that we lovers of the MKftP and Royal Envoy games are always waiting and hoping for a new version/title in this genre and this game fits right in. I liked the Asian flair to the game and thought the graphics were cute.
The bad is the following:
you can't queue up tasks, something I appreciate when given
the production buildings don't show a timer bar. this is unusual and you don't know how close they are to producing the next batch in order to help you plan your strategy.
you can't cancel actions once they are set. very frustrating.
and one last thing, small but also unusual, is that when you clear a blockage (fallen tree or boulder in the way), you don't gain any materials.
It just didn't grab me and I cannot recommend.

A true Resource Management game
I want to bring to your attention that this game is NOT a click-fest type of game. If you try to collect every resource that drops, you will fail. You cannot preplan actions and preclick resources to be picked up when a worker is available, you have to have one available. You cannot undo your actions. There is no timer for the buildings to know when the next resource is ready, you have to get a feeling for it.
You just need to study the level BEFORE you start, find out what the "choke points" are, what resources you will need and when and then execute the plan. Then you will be a "great leader" and win the three stars.
By the way of example, in the beginning you usually need wood to build your buildings, but later you don't need any wood. Don't bother gather it! It is a waste of time. Sometimes you have collected so much food that it is enough to build the rest of the wall, don't bother to send your worker to collect more food.
I am half way through the game and got 3 stars on each level easily with plenty of time to spare despite the pesky dragons and that I am not that fast in clicking them away.
I thought that the above could be of help in understanding and enjoying the game.

Excellent Time Management Game
If you like "My Kingdom for the Princess" series and/or the "Royal Envoy" series, you will like this game. There is no untimed mode which may annoy some, but surely the aim of this game is in its genre "Time Managment"
Some of the players who have made comments also complain of the fast clicking required in places, well I'm not exactly a spring chicken and I didn't have any problems with it. The graphics are good, the sound is good and the level of challenge is also good.
For me, this is a great game, full of challenges and could certainly not be classed as boring.

Slowest TM Game Ever!
This is Roads to Rome on Valium. My extreme disappointment stems in part from the fact RtR is my favorite game and I thought I was finally getting a new one.
The strategy is exactly the RtR formula, so after playing the demo, I purchased the game thinking it would eventually get faster as the levels progressed. It doesn't. The little guys do not move any faster on level 40 than they do on level one, no matter how much you curse at them.
There is virtually no strategy in terms of resource management - the only challenge is to not strangle your cat while watching the builders WALK slowly back and forth from site to site.
There is only one mode of play, no advanced option, at least none I could find. I got 3 stars on almost every level on the first try. The ones that I didn't, I simple could not bring myself to retry as the first go round was torture enough.
Play the demo before you buy. If you like the pace, great. If you are anxiously awaiting a chance to play a fast-paced TM game, look elsewhere.

I liked this game!
My review is based on the one-hour trial only. This game is in the style of MKFTP or RoR. You collect materials and send your workers to build The Great Wall of China. I liked it being set in a different age and location than most games. Something a little different added to this one is a dragon that you must fight periodically by furiously clicking on your bowman. There are mini-games, but I only got to the first one (a match game) before the trial ran out. Everything worked seamlessly, it's a good story, and it started to get challenging at about level 9. If you like these types of games, this one fills the bill. A good one to get, with Novemberfest still going on.

Not Very Fun
It was a bad start in the first level when it warned me I might "loose" a star #lose#. Anyway ...
This is a time management game where you collect resources and add buildings and workers in order to accomplish a list of tasks, including building a section of the Great Wall of China in each level.
A problem for me is that you can't stage the actions. You always have to wait for the workers to get back to base before you can send them to do something else.
Once is a while, a dragon comes flying over and sets one of your buildings on fire. You can "fight" it by clicking continuously as fast as you can - rather tedious.
The one mini-game I played was lame #the memory game where you turn over two matching cards#.
I played 54 minutes of the one-hour trial and ultimately it was the faster and faster clicking clock that drove me away.
Unfortunately, there was also no humor in the game - it was all quite serious business. If you would like to try a game of this type that is a lot more fun - check out Kingdom Chronicles.

Not as good, but still worth the buy
Since I go through these "My Kingdom for the Princess" type games in a couple of days, I hop all over it when a new one comes out. The Great Wall of China is the same concept. It's not quite as cute or as fun, the music is quite monotonous and never changes, the sounds lack variety and the story-line - while good - could have more history about the actual building of the Great Wall.
But all in all, if you like this type of game (which I do), it's worth the credit (which I spent).

Along the lines of My kingdome for the princess, etc.
Fun game. The player must build the wall of china overcoming a number of obstacles along the way. The main charachter in the story, Kong, has taken on the challenge to the build the wall in order to win the hand of the princess in marriage. The graphics are good. The storyline is fun and the play action is good.
The play gets progressively more difficult as you play the game. Unfortunately, I did not see where there are different levels of play (easy, regular and hard). The play is timed so stratedy is important.
I like the game.

Disappointing
A new time management/strategy game:
- graphics and visual are acceptable
- story line is okish
- mini-games in between are boring
- sound was off, so I cannot comment
- fun factor was non existent
I did the demo for the game sake but the characters look a bit boring and didn't grab me, it just felt like going through the motions rather than having great fun.
I would say that it is more suitable for beginners starting playing that sort of games

Great building/time management game!
Time management games are my favorite and this one does not disappoint. It is similar to Roads of Rome in that you must collect wood, food, stone, and iron in order to complete the assigned tasks. There are a couple of minor things that keep me from giving it five stars:
Cannot click to schedule tasks in advance - must wait until a worker is available.
Workers must return to camp after each task. They can't go from one task straight to the next.
The storyline is interesting enough. The mini game to chase away the dragon is a bit cheesy, but all you have to do is click, so it's simple and doesn't hinder progress in the game.
The levels are timed, but I have not had issues with being able to get gold stars on all the levels so far. This is not to say that it is too easy, either, though.
All in all, this is a good building/time management game which I do recommend.
