Hallowed Legends: Ship of Bones Collector's Edition 4.2 5 82 82
Another great Hallowed Legends! Good story line: you have to help a spirit (Hel) who is wreaking havoc on a town after her bone ship is pillaged by the villagers, turning the town into ice. VOS HOS interactive, nice and clear Good puzzles, short skip Transport map Collect goblins Beautiful graphics Good length: 4.5 casual plus 1.75 bonus (6.25 hours) March 5, 2013
Easy to play This game was fairly simple to play, the puzzles were easy, the map was a nice change and easy to follow. If your looking for simplicity, then try this one. February 27, 2013
One Hel of a Game!! When I first saw the preview video for this game I was a bit uncertain that it would be good as I thought it was going to have a lot of annoying 'real people' in it like the old man in the chair. However I was somewhat intrigued so I bought it. I was way wrong. This turned out to be a fantastic game! I love games that have snow and icy scenes in them but that was just a part of the journey I was taken on in this brilliant game. I am a huge fan of Nordic sagas, Gods & Goddesses, etc and the portrayal of the Goddess Hel was very good here. I loved the raven that gets added to the inventory to aid you to acquire many objects throughout the game. The mini games where good and not over hard or annoying, the HOS where also good and not too many of them like some games. There where hidden goblins to find, The Book of Fire that you match cut outs to images where great. The interactive map was great. All the graphics where excellent and great soundtrack. The bonus chapter was also great. Where you have the Raven assistant and Hel's loyal familiar Garm both added to the inventory to perform more tasks and obtain items for you. There was so much to do and it was fun!! I wont give anymore away get it now!! This is now my favorite game:) February 27, 2013
good game but sooo much going on Another good elephant game. This one has good graphics and music. The hint button works great. Has a skip button. You have to look for morphine's. You get acknowledge for not using help in the HOS which are not hard at all. Some of the puzzles were hard for me. My biggest complaint was that there is sooooo much to do and find in this game. There is a lot. You are going back and forth a lot to do and find things to advance. Seems like that is getting to be the trend. Does not seem hard just trying to remember what goes where and then finding it again. February 21, 2013
Ship of Bones is a must have game! I am a big fan of the Hallowed Legends series and this one might even top the list! What's not to like, scary eerie scenery, creepy music, hidden goblins and zombies all in the same game! There are 22 hidden goblins throughout the game and they have done a nice job hiding them. There are achievements for not using the hint button during HO's, not skipping puzzles, and finding different items in the game and more. The HO's are interactive such as picking up the cheese and placing it on the mousetrap, and they have done a super job of blending the hidden objects without making the items fuzzy or to dark. I liked the puzzles because they were easy to do and fun such as rotating a wheel full of colored marbles to have 3 of one color touch each other to remove those marbles. There are also subtle clues of numbers or pictures in some of the areas that will be used later in the game, but don't worry it is written in your journal. There is a map that allows you to travel between locations and has photos of each area you have explored and the photo is in color if you have a task to do in that area otherwise the photo is a brownish color. You meet a crow with glasses that is the towns historian and fills you in on details during the game about an exploration team that unearths an ancient book with great powers. When your plane crashed outside a cursed town where an evil woman was stealing the townspeople's souls and leaving behind zombie skeletons, your friend was injured and this mysterious woman took his soul as well. Now it is up to you to save him and the town before it's too late! February 21, 2013
Enjoyable game - No bones about it! Lovely graphics, cut-scenes and voice-overs made this an enjoyable game to play. It had all the goodies I expect to see in a CE game - including achievements and bonus hidden items. But what the game lacked was that little extra something that makes a game memorable. Hidden object games were only slightly interactive, and puzzles varied from easy to moderate. Game included a map for easy jumping from scene to scene. Storyline flowed nicely, but wasn't really edge of your seat captivating. Bonus chapter was more of the same calibre, with the storyline not being essential to the main game - more of a mini-story that could have taken place at any stage after the main story. Definitely recommend this game, but am on the fence as to getting the CE or SE version. But if you like getting CE games then this would be one to add to the collection. February 23, 2013
The Usual Stuff Luckily we get a map, because there's a lot of hopping back and forth between scenes. I didn't use the strategy guide, as hints were usually sufficient. It's a big game, uses over a GB of memory. The plot makes little sense. Most scenes are pictures of desolation, everyone is cursed, lots of junk. The continuity is awful. It makes little sense. The HOS are easy, some of the puzzles are stupid. Who makes these things up? March 17, 2013
Spooky nordic tale Yet again the developers have excelled with a simple tale and come up with an unique twist from the talking Raven who is not that keen to help he is far too cultured and complains, to the poor unfortunate walking dead . There is plenty to do in this game with the extra bonus of spells put togeather with runes and a magic book as well as collecting Goblins . and other awards . The story opens with an elderly chap reading a book . cue spooky happening . Next moment your plane is hit by an electrical storm and you crash land outside the city gates..... and so begins the adventure While I like the mix of using real actors and graphics I prefered this story . to the previous ones The demo was enough to have me hooked and I feel there is enough in the C.E and I am buying now March 1, 2013
Fabulous Ship of Bones I have over 150 HOS in my library and I must say until this game came along I could have done without a lot of them. This game just captivated me from the start. The graphics are fantastic, music is outstanding, the story line is sneaky, it creeps up on you. A lot of twists and turns to throw you off the trail. I have the other two games from Elephant and it has certainly lived up to its reputation. 5 Stars from me. The one thing I did not like is the inventory it was hard to bring up most of the time. But in no way detracted from my having fun with this one. I am currently holding 19 HOS games on my desktop to play. March 3, 2013
Going For It Pretty ok, with good graphics, and appropriate sound effects. I like the use of real people mixed with other characters, and find that it draws you into the story. The puzzles are quite easy (at least in the demo), and you can't get fuddled and confused with a hint that provides your next move. No surprised yet, but I'm going for this one, expecting more adventure in the full version. February 21, 2013
