Hallowed Legends: Ship of Bones Collector's Edition
ONE "HEL" OF A GAME
Awesome game. Played on Hardcore throughout the game and in the bonus section. Played all HOS and mini games.
* Live actors.
* Casual, Advanced and Hardcore modes.
* Interactive map [I won't use this cause I think its cheating].
* A crow called Hamlet to help you - can be sarky.
* Find 22 goblins.
* Use the book of fire to help you - find certain objects to start the book.
The HOS were easy to find. The mini games were easy to medium - some were quite fun. Just wished they were more challenging.
The graphics are great, which is the norm for Elephant. It was mostly quiet throughout the game, with little music but that didn't bother me at all.
There is lots to do and items to collect.
Quite a long game, and the bonus is lengthy too.
Overall a great game to put in your collection. Definitely worth its weight in gold.

You v. Dead People!!!!
Just played 45mins. of the demo when it finished. Will be purchasing this CE as it is another good one from Elephant Games and an excellant introduction at the start, but found it to be a standard HOPA but that is just a judgement from playing the demo. Unfortunately there is an inevitable plane crash at the start of the game!!!!!! You can get achievements throughout and also collect 22 goblins!! Music and graphics I liked, HOGs fairly easy together with the mini-games. Unless I change my mind after playing the full game, I do prefer of the three Hallowed Legend games, 'Templar'. Pleased the devs have put in an integral map and real people, always a plus for me. Definately worth purchasing though!!

"Ahoy There Little Fishes!"
Well, my review today is going to be a geographical bash and a little informative. I must say that it is totally unfair that Pakistan gets Big Fish games before Charlotte, NC. Yes, I am addressing this to the wonderfully insightful and talented Nilosh. Even if I get up with the chickens - like we say here in the Southern States- We can't submit our reviews before our fellow fishies across the world, so I will just add my #literal# two cents worth. I know the readers already know that you crash land on an island that the villain in this game is an eyeless woman in white that takes your soul leavfing behind nothing but a pile of bones, hence the title, but this game's cut scenes use real people and the scenery and graphics are so breathtaking, that the player will be totally immersed in this game. Also the HOS games are not only interactive, but very clear and not junk piled! Also if you are not an expert player#like me# the Hint button tells you your next task, and the map you get transports you to where you need to go. So as my finale #smile!# if the reader doesn't already own the other two Hallowed games you can have hours of exhilarating fun for next to nothing monetarily. Have fun, and Nilosh I'll keep writing from time to time, but my spelling is better than yours!!!LOL!!!

Easy to play
This game was fairly simple to play, the puzzles were easy, the map was a nice change and easy to follow. If your looking for simplicity, then try this one.

I really enjoyed this game, the only thing I found a bit odd was that sometimes when clicking on "info" to play a mini game or information about an object found, the instructions were in Russian, at least I think it was Russian, that is just a matter of editing. Possibly my version of the game is an older one, and these issues have since been resolved.

Ice from Hel(l)
Review based upon finishing the game and bonus chapter with all achievements.
This is the third Hallowed Legends game. And this time we really have a Hallowed Legend in the game: Hel, Norse Goddess of Death, who isn't actually that bad once you get to know her... but somebody found a Viking ship in a glacier, which led to all sorts of evil stuff happening and the world freezing over. Enter the player to save the world from very high heating and electricity bills.
+ great graphics and very well done cutscenes
+ seamless integration of real actors
+ interactive map that shows you where there is something to do and lets you jump there
+ achievements (finally no difference for the modes of difficulty)
+ mostly clear HO scenes
+ story told through a raven was a nice touch
+ Book of Fire searches, way more lenient than Escape from Ravenhearst
o sometimes the map shows you locations with something to do while there really is not
- all characters do not move their lips while talking - you would expect that CEs provide that by now
Bonus Content: The Bonus chapter took me about an hour to complete. Hel did not make it back to her world so the ice is still there. You have to fix that situation. The usual mumbojumbo consists of 4 music pieces, wallpapers and concept art.
Bottom Line: This part really steps up the technical side of things and provides a really nice story that includes a major player of Norse mythology. However, since the regular game has a satisfying ending I wouldn't hold it against you if you just take the regular edition.

As dark as it gets
Overall I should say that this game is very dark. Lots of bones, lots of spirits, and even the well made music supports that atmosphere. At times the atmosphere was maybe even too dark for me (even though I like it dark), which is lowered the fun factor for me.
The storyline was first a bit uninteresting for me, but it improved towards the end (as I like mythologies), and we might even see a glimpse of hope - the damage can be undone after all.
As usual in the hidden object games in Big Fish, the graphics are wonderful, and a lot of live actors or models have been used. But at times their antics seemed surprisingly cheesy compared to the rest of the game.
There were a few spots that seemed unfinished, with dialogue not written or not translated from russian. But it shouldn't disturb the gameplay overly much.
The game is challenging, and that's a good thing. The extra levels support the idea that Hel is an antagonist, but not a villain. Overall, the game has an alright after taste.

Too much going on
This is really a great game and I consider myself an intermediate player, but after trying to get thru this, which I didn't, I think I need to go back to beginner status. I just couldn't keep up with everything that was going on and found it wasn't enjoyable for me. The graphics are beautiful, it has extras like finding goblins and matching up runes, and I like where you find stuff for the skeletons, but the never ending hopping around was just maddening and I gave up. I recommend this for someone who knows their stuff, and obviously that wasn't me!

No Bones About It!
I really liked this game trial. It was better than some HOGS and I like the fact that it IS different. Good quality and color. I always keep my reviews short and sweet and I wont change that now. I enjoyed this game a lot.

Going For It
Pretty ok, with good graphics, and appropriate sound effects. I like the use of real people mixed with other characters, and find that it draws you into the story. The puzzles are quite easy (at least in the demo), and you can't get fuddled and confused with a hint that provides your next move. No surprised yet, but I'm going for this one, expecting more adventure in the full version.
