Could Have, Would Have, Should Have
Played the full hour in hopes it would improve.
This could have been a good game, except that the wide screen option didn't work, the puzzles were just okay, the hos were shadowed and I didn't like having to move my pointer all over the scene to find the obscured objects.
This would have been a good game if the above were fixed as I rather liked the graphic 'old fashioned' style of the game. The story appeared to me quite different from the usual. I liked the map. And I liked the ? directions in the puzzles.
The developer really should have spent more time making sure the full screen/wide screen worked. Spent a bit more time on the hos and smoothed out the graphics. It's really quite old fashioned in that area.
Not for me, unfortunately.

From start to finish in a burst of inspiration
Try this one! ?ut-scene is amazing, especially with Jack introduction, very realistic and smooth. HOS&Mini-games are challenging and fun.
Awesome storyline for the good long night.

Better than most CE's
This a very well made game. Graphics are detailed and clear. It is also a very, very long game, which I love. This game is better than most CE's and it is just a SE. Who knew?
I loved helping the ghosts. I can never say no to these kind of games. The devs definitely put a lot of work into this which is hard to find.
You have to read everything, it is like a very good book that you cannot put down.
Lots of location and not too much back and forth, but it's so much fun.
Map let's you transport if you feel the need. The journal refreshes your memory, if you forget what you should do next. It keeps getting better and better as you go on. Never loses it's spark.
Yes, the story is once again about the evil powers but even so, it's different and the story pulls you in.
You need to collect game pieces ( ghost figurines ) along the way and put them back into the game box to solve each case. To me this was a high quality game, just the length alone
The ending does not leave you hanging, it all ties up nicely.
This game never got boring for me, I love variety in a game. This one delivered.
Thanks so much to the devs, please keep it up.
Unfortunately with most SE's, even CE's the quality is lacking, such as story, length...., not here. Fantastic, what a nice gem of a game.

Very Good Game. Little 'Buggy'.
I loved playing this game. The story line was great. I enjoyed most of the puzzles and how the HOGs were set up.
I would have given this a 5 star rating down the row except for a few bugs in the game. During some of the cut scenes, the screen went completely dark. Not on all the cut scenes, just a few, but while I could hear and read what was happening, I couldn't see anything.
Also had a hard time with some of the puzzles in the technical sense. Example: Trying to put a small mirror in it's place. Even though the cursor would start spinning it's wheel to show the item could be place, it wouldn't let you put it in there. After much trial and error, I finally found that you had to click just on the inside the frame beside the knob. Very frustrating.
But other than that, I enjoyed the game and found it fascinating to play. It was hard to put down because I wanted to see what was going to happen next in the story. Wish this had been a collectors game, I would have looked forward to bonus play with this one. I hope there is a follow up to this game. Minus the bugs of course.

Charming... and lots to do
This was a delightful game. It wasn't hard -- in fact, I was surprised to see complete solutions provided if I clicked the "?" at the top right of some mini-games (be warned, if you prefer to figure things out yourself!). But sometimes, you don't feel like bashing your head against a puzzle forever, and a bit of an assist is welcome. I peeked once or twice!
The graphics were lovely -- very detailed, very crisp, lots to look at. Very creative, too. I enjoyed the little added touches and surprises along the way. A lot of what makes a game a winner for me is the artwork. I want to enjoy the scenery. This game provides a visual feast, from start to finish.
In particular, there were lovely cut scenes, done in a way I hadn't seen before. I skipped the first one... and then realized what I was missing and went back and watched them all. They're unique, and clever.
I particularly liked the level of interactivity required in the hidden-object scenes. Much more interesting than simply clicking madly all over the place. I had to do things, move things, join things, fix things, uncover things... it was fun. Very engaging, but never TOO hard. I think I used the hint button once, because an object was a bit too dark and hard to find. Other than that, I managed on my own.
Winning feature: An excellent teleport (jump) map. I hate having to run around. Why some developers force this on gamers is beyond me. I also hate trying to remember where the heck I have to do something. Thank-you to these developers for creating this nice (and pretty) map for us. Also, they used the map again in an interesting way in the end game, which was a fun surprise.
So I'd say this is a charming and relaxing game that will provide a lot of fun, and is a treat to look at. It had a little bit of everything, and clearly, the developers put a lot of care and thought into it. Well done!

More than just a Halloween Game
I enjoyed the game. Occult, Voodoo, Potions and ghosts who made poor choices needing to be set free from their earthly roaming always makes for a good story.
The hidden object scenes were challenging and even though I was driven to using an occasional hint I enjoyed.
Thanks for a good game!

Shadows: Price for Our Sins
Loving the game so far but have gotten stuck on the bridge, keeps pointing at the rocks. Wish it would tell me something when I point at the area

Intriguing New Game
I have only played the trial for this game. The Hallowe'en storyline is intriguing but I didn't feel like the game flowed as well as some others I have tried and I found the search for a code in the first HOG frustrating and ended up wasting trial time on it. Definitely a try before you buy game but interesting and challenging.

As good as a CE
This game has all the good things of CE (despite no extras), but the length, the story line, graphics, exceed many CE's developers and for this price, it is really a good deal. The story about Halloween, although it's long past, is still good to be a game. The stmosphere of the game is creepy, dark, but the graphic is crisp. There is no need to use SG because the map is interactive and useful (think Alawar's) and the dialogue between characters reminds me of Elephant's. There is voice over, although just in the cut scenes. The problem is that some of the cut scenes don't work, it is just pitch black with caption and it happens four times in the game. I don't really mind, it's just 15-30 seconds scenes anyway and it doesn't take all the goodness in this game. Those who like creepy games, this game is recommended.

Great game!
The game opens slowly, & I almost lost interest. But I stuck it out through the first 5 minutes of build-up & then it got interesting. The story line is not original, but the story was well told. I especially liked the woodcut styled silhouette artwork used in the cut scenes. There is no strategy guide, but the question mark button gives you the full solution to each puzzle. There were several hours of game play. I quite enjoyed the addition of the broken game pieces.
