Interesting game Interesting, easy to navigate, this reminds me of old movies from the 30's. Airplanes, futuristic out of time. Fun. February 22, 2013
Really, what happened to logic, plot and plausibility? While not a fan of hidden object games, I enjoyed the previous two Surface games because they attempted to play with story. However, this game was boring, poorly conceived and made no effort to link hidden object elements to a relevant purpose. What is the point of carrying around something that is both an anachronism and not needed to advance game play? It was poor game with a weak story line. Do not understand why people found it so enjoyable. Have they played Myst or Drawn or Submachine? March 8, 2013
Great, while it lasts This is a beautiful game. I like that you need some inventory items in order to complete the HO scenes. Good story line w/ a steampunk theme. Nice cut scenes as well. My only problem with this game is it's length. I finished the demo in 42 minutes which means you are almost 40% of the way through the game in an hour. That yields a sub 4 hour game watching the cutscenes and not using hints. That's just not long enough. Others may feel the game offsets the shortness, but I don't. So, no buy for me February 22, 2013
Surface: The Soaring City I enjoyed the stragiergy and the intreuge. My grandkids liked it also. I will recomend it to all of my friends & other family members. the game in itself is great. February 22, 2013
Surface does it again Surface does it again. I loved this game. It is unique and enthralling. Game play is smooth and cohesive. The story progresses nicely throughout. HOS have the perk of requiring inventory items for completion and do not dominate the game. Areas are well contained and tend to move forward so there is no severe backtracking. Puzzles are fun, original and sometimes challenging. Graphics are extremely well done. However, the voice-overs are painfully out of sync with the sound. I can forgive this given the rest of the game was so entertaining. Great! April 26, 2013
OK Game with English Translation Issues Beautiful graphics and challenging puzzles, but the sloppy translation from Russian into English detracts from what might otherwise have been an excellent game. Definitely not up to the standards of other Surface games that I have played recently. The worst blooper is in the bonus chapter, where you find a note that attempts to give advice on how to treat a broken leg. The note reads "In case of fraction, apply splint and fixate very thoroughly." (!!) April 24, 2013
another game in this series another game that is in the surface series that is a great play. you are reuniting with your brother and his "wonderful" new air show entry. it goes wrong though and he eventually gets taken prisoner. don't want to give too much away. great graphics. played casual, no sound. 60 second charge on hint and skip button. journal and interactive map which you will probably use. sequel??? i feel sure. SURFACE - AN EXCELLENT SERIES - LOOK BELOW THE SURFACE I have now purchased all three games in the SURFACE series and not one disappoints. Great characters to follow and doesn't take itself too seriously. Mild comical moments, particularly in scenes involving communication with the main characters best friend in his flying machine. Each of the stories has unique elements backed up by great graphics. The games actors help bring the surreal surroundings to life and make for an entertaining and engaging gaming experience. Do not be put off by any negative comments this is one series worth following. So if you like to be entertained, exercise your grey matter and relax into another world - look below the surface! Saugeen excellent game. I hope there will be more Surface games. I have played many of these games and have enjoyed every one March 21, 2013
I loved this game!!! This is one of the best hidden object adventure games I have ever played and trust me I have played a lot of them! It had everything I want in a game - graphics as clear as a bell, a map you can travel through, a lock on the inventory bar and a really unique and interesting storyline. I believe the characters (real actors) are speaking in a foreign language - the names in the credits all ended in ov so that took a little getting used to but everything about this game was top notch. I actually found myself thinking about it when I wasn;t playing I loved the story so much. I completely recommend this game to everyone who wants to spend a good 4 hours engrossed in front of their computer. I did not care for the first 2 games in this series - though I hesitate to call it a series they are so different - but I thought this one was great. It is in my top 5 of all time and my total favourite so far this year. Many thanks to the developers of this game for the time and effort spent on every aspect of it. I would love to see a sequel!
