Silent Scream II - The Bride Interesting game, a bit on the spooky side, entertaining HOS and puzzles There are 2 modes of gameplay: thrilling and nightmare mode You have a journal, no map Also objectives are shown which is very useful HOS are fantastically done, colorful, bright, interactive, challenging Puzzles are awesome, not so challenging but very entertaining and fun, I had a blast playing them Nice looking graphics, clear, beautifully done locations and characters Music is ok, contributed nicely to the whole experience and story Verdict: Definitely worth playing, fantastic adventure, try the demo and see for yourself April 27, 2013
REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME A really nice little iHOPA that is straightforward and relaxed, which plays at a good steady pace. Even though there are a lot of HOS, I did not mind them because of the good graphics, it being a very well made game and most of all because of the story, which is really mysterious and intriguing. I just had to buy it to find out what was going on. Even when I did catch on, it still was not what I thought and had a really surprising twist in it's tale. No map, no problem, not necessary. iHOS clear and sharp. Fast hint/skip. No new or remarkable puzzles and not very many. Hint button directional. Good music, cut scenes and voice overs. Not a challenging game at all but I really enjoyed playing it very much. It took me 3.30 hrs and I consider these devs came up with a really solid game that played perfectly. February 23, 2013
Recommended Purchase: A Creepy Good Time This review is based on the completed demo of the game in Nightmare mode. I did enjoy Silent Scream:The Dancer, the 1st of (so far) this 2 part series. The 1st game ties everything up nicely; therefore, it is not necessary to play the 1st one before playing this as they can function as 2 stand-alone games. I absolutely LOVED the artistic style of Silent Scream:The Dancer. It was done in a Tim Burton-esque art style. I was slightly disappointed to see that this games artistic style is different. Not in a bad way. The graphics are crisp and clear and up to par with most of the games we see today. For some reason the screenshot examples make it look grainy but that is not at all the case. The other aspect I liked about the 1st Silent Scream were the unexpected creepy moments. They started out subtle and built up the suspense slowly, picking up speed throughout the game. Psychologically, the 1st game was quite a thriller. With this game, the developers kept the creep factor there, but it's less subtle and much more intense. The 'ghost' tends to appear when you least expect it, causing me to jump on a couple of occasions. :-o Another reviewer in the forums cautioned animal lovers about this game from 'early on'. I have to respectfully disagree. The instance in which I believe the reviewer is referring to is not cruel by any means. No animals die on screen or are visibly harmed in any way. I did not feel at all uncomfortable. I felt it would be helpful to expound upon that statement to clarify any fears about visible animal cruelty or death. From the menu, you are able to customize to your hearts content, including all facets of audio (music, voice, sounds, environment). There are 2 methods of game-play: Thriller and Nightmare. Nightmare offers zero help-no skips, no hints. I played the demo in Nightmare mode and enjoyed the challenge. The music is unobtrusive and picks up pace at the right time, adding to the eerie experience. The environment sounds are very realistic and varied which enhances the gaming experience. My only gripe is that this game is pretty heavy on the HO scenes, more so than the 1st one. You revisit each scene a few times which can get a bit repetitive. It's lite on Adventure but I found playing in Nightmare mode helps with this as you have to explore more to find needed items, which kept me happy. For HOPA lovers, I recommend playing on Nightmare mode to create more of an adventure feel. Storyline is intriguing. Overall a good SE that I would recommend, especially with the sale today! 4 of 5 stars! February 23, 2013
Wedding, car crash, husband disappears, ghost of a girl Played 25 minutes, "Trilling" .... - 2 modes, thrilling and nightmare - Notebook - No map - You must combine some items of your inventory - H0 you interact, very clear - Usual mini games - Hint refills quickly (thrilling mode), useful outside H0 - Skip button takes a while to fill - Beautiful graphics Just married you have a car crash because a strange girl appears on the back seat. You brand new husband has disappeared, you look for him. Feared the worst when I saw the first sugary cut scene but the game does improve as it goes on. Well worth a punch card credit. If you love hidden object scenes... This one's for you!! :) Very strange things occur during your search for your husband... A very disturbing and thrilling story... 2 modes to choose from. We have a detailed journal, but no map. Together with the inventory we have an objective list. Some items from the inventory have to be combined, before they can be used. A huge amount of HOS! We play all HOS at least twice, but with different items listed. We also find some nice, more or less challenging minigames with the possibility to use hint and skip. I would give this game 3,5 stars, if I could. For me there are too many Hidden Object Scenes in this game... But maybe this is exactly your cup of tea, then give it a try!:) February 23, 2013
A Game Soon To Be Forgotten! Before I begin, a quick hello to jquick from NC. I agree, the time zone makes it hard for everyone to write reviews at the same time. I have to compete with Australia and the Far East; nevertheless, I do look forward to reading your reviews. I vaguely recall having played Silent Scream: The Dancer which tells me that it did not leave an impression on me. After having played the demo for The Bride, I can safely say that this suffer the same outcome. The storyline, while having some spooky elements in it, is somewhat familiar and predictable. Needless to say, the ghostly child that pops up quite unexpectedly does provide mild spooky entertainment. On her wedding day, what was suppose to be a perfect day of pure bliss suddenly takes an unusual turn when Jessica finds herself trapped in a car and her groom missing. Well we all know what happens next and we soon find ourselves playing one Hidden Object scene after another while we click away to pick up some inventory items and play some mini-games along the way. I personally did not like the graphics, compared to what we see, this game looks old and rather awkward. There are only two playmodes to choose and the harder mode offers no sparkles, no hints and no skip option. Still, gameplay was relatively easy. Game features a journal and that really is about it. This game should be catagorised as a HOG where you have a series of Hidden Object scenes, back to back which are played more than once and are mildy interactive. There is a mild adventure play that involves basically clicking away to locate your inventory items and some are combined when needed. Although not very challenging, gameplay doesoffer some interesting moments and I found that the story was really the driving force. I am somewhat interested to learn what happened to Jonathan and what is up with the child. As there is a sale on club credits today, I will take advantage of this. HOG fans will no doubt enjoy this game and beginners will enjoy the mild adventure play. Like the first Silent Scream, this will offer a couple of hours of mild entertainment and like its predessesor, will soon belong to a list of games forgotten . February 23, 2013
Where r u I read more reviews. But every now & then I do like to make a remark. True, there's a lot of HO but I enjoyed them. Voice over's r not bad. The adventure from the demo was interesting enough 4 me to want me to go forward. I will use a punch credit on this one. Mini games (we've seen them before) at least from the demo part I played. There r a few people that I do follow what they say in there reviews. They seem to be hardcore players, but on the whole not all of us has the same taste. Married couple get into car accident, bride woke up & groom was not around. You do have to merge some inventory items together but i don't think people will have a terrible time to figure it out. Try the demo & see if u like it. I've played 4 a long time & still I don't consider myself an expert. But I do play hardcore sometimes. Maybe I'll play hardcore on this 1, demo was a little to easy 4 me. But do take your time u will enjoy, like some say if u like a lot of HO then go 4 it. Well worth a punch credit or a DD. Happy Gaming February 23, 2013
Simple but awesome game! Complete the game in "Thrilling" mode, and now replay with "Nightmare" mode. - 2 Modes : Thrilling and Nightmare, in nightmare there is absolutely no help, no sparkle, no tips, no skip! - Voice over : yes, excellent! - Music : okay - Story : Different (in a good way), - Puzzle : Average (mouse puzzle is the hardest) - HO : Bright colors. - Graphic : Beautiful and crisp on my laptop. - Cutscene - Replayable overall I do really love the storyline, I kept playing until the very end, and no yawning at all, After a lot of fantasy game lately, and this one came with the simple but really twist story, really recommended! "Here Comnes the Bride" Now Where's the Groom? Greetings fellow fishies! Nilosh- Fine minds think alike, right? Today I review my first SE HOS. The beginning is a cutscene of your star heroine's wedding ending and the happy couple driving off, when the groom looks in the back seat, only to see an apparition of a young girl. Very rattled, this scenario causes them to wreck and when the bride comes to- her new hubby (Jon# is missing. Well, we all know what has to be done...find him! Well, this game gives you 2 play modes to do this: Thrilling #Beginner and Intermediate# and Nightmare #Expert# You do have a hint button that leads you to your various tasks and a journal to record your clues. I don't know about anyone else's computers, but my dialogues skipped. They were also old-school animated with no lip movement. The groom's voice was a funky Southern drawl while his lovely new wife is British#or something). The HOS scenes were bright and not cluttered but only slightly interactive. Mini games -your usual . Graphics and music decent. I liked this game enough to use a promo code and now own!! I truly recommend you see for yourself. February 23, 2013
an easy HO game i really liked this game. not overly long. played casual, no sound. the hints sometimes were hard to see because they looked like insects flying around when they told you to go to another scene. you are a bride trying to find your groom after a car crash on the way to your honeymoon. and being told all these bad things about him. surprise ending. hints charge fast April 7, 2013
