Poor old joyville While I have enjoyed all the previous games I was surprised to see number 5 the story is getting a bit tired . But I did enjoy the demo and the arrival of a little helper you name did help and the story moved along at a pace and there was less moving back and forth as in previous games . If you havn't played these games before it doesn't matter In this one Master Puppeteer has disapeared his daughter needs our help!! and of course there are loads of maniac puppets that get in the way and of course Trix As other reviewers have said this game is easier than others and I have decides to wait and get the SE I love ERS but sometimes its better to do a new story than more and more of the same March 29, 2013
A Wonderful New Addition To The Series! Alright, I?ll admit it: I?m not the biggest fan of ERS or the Puppetshow series, but I was really impressed with this one! First and foremost, kudos to the developers on such a great storyline! I spent most of the demo trying to figure out if Felicia was good or evil, and the cutscenes kept me hanging on. I?m really keen to see what the woman?s involvement is in the case! On the subject of HOS and puzzles, it?s a little bit of a mixed bag. The HOS were great (save for one, which was a silhouette scene) and included extra step objects, and I appreciated the challenge that it gave me. On the other hand, the puzzles were? A bit below standard. I think there was about one in the whole demo that I did not have to skip. Graphic-wise, this game is good, but could use a little improvement. Nothing was hazy, and I could see clearly, but I think the way they were animated made the game seem older than it actually is. Sound-wise, I believe the voice-overs were well done. I can find nothing to fault about this. FEATURES - Hint and skip buttons, as always, are featured. In this particular game, they were quite helpful to me, and recharged fast. - A diary is giiven to keep track of the events in the game. - Map is interactive, so you can save time backtracking. - At some point during the game you acquire a little helper in the form of a mechanical puppet (which you get to name as well.) This was a great addition to the game, and a very cute one too! The puppet is very useful to you and requires many uses throughout the game. - As a Collector?s Edition exclusive, you are given a Strategy Guide, which you can use if you are finding the hint to be of no use. The strategy guide is very useful for finding solutions to puzzles, which is the main thing I used it for. Having played every Puppetshow to date, and knowing the best and worst this developer can offer, I?d have to say I?m pretty pleased with this game. Based on my experiences, I would personally recommend waiting for the Standard Edition to come out, as the only extra I could find was a Strategy Guide. April 25, 2013
PuppetShows are always fun to play I enjoyed all the puppet show series, and this one as well. The graphics are perfect as usual. On the other hand the level of challenge was quite disappointing and the bonus part was too short. I have my doubts about purchasing CE (which i did btw) but would recommend others not to.. ANOTHER GOOD ADDITION TO THE PUPPETSHOW SERIES Review based on completed game in casual mode. Animation/VOS - Good. Devs, please use vos for player as well. IHOS - Fairly clear, small to larger objects, some well concealed, repeated scenes, lists and silhouettes. Hint - Charges quickly, gives clues and directions. Misclick Penalty - None Journal - Records notes, story and characters. Map - I believe it does transport but I used the hint button. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Found some unusual that I actually enjoyed solving. Skip charges fast. Loved my little robot helper! I named him Chris. :-D There were collectibles such as hat patterns and, if I remember correctly, dolls. Since I'm not interested in these features, I tend to ignore them. Great deal of back-tracking to each location. I prefer games that state Level Complete so I can move on but to me, this is a minor issue. Bonus Chapter - More of the above so I didn't complete it. If you enjoyed the previous PuppetShow games, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one as well. Give it a whirl and happy gaming!!! :-D April 7, 2013
subpar to the other puppet show games I bought this game, because I have all the puppet show games that have come out. I have enjoyed all of them even this one to a extent. I thought it was subpar to the others. This game was shorter and the extra pay wasn't as good. I felt the story wasn't as good either. But the visuals were as beautiful as usual. Not a bad game, just not as good as the others. April 7, 2013
Fun but could have been better. I really love the PuppetShow games and was very excited about this 5th one coming out. was a bit disappointing in that I expected a higher level game for being the 5th one. The graphics could have been better as well as the story aspect. Some of the puzzles are really good. Despite the disappointment, I still think it is worth buying. April 6, 2013
Another Puppet adventure Wish the story was more interesting, just seems same old, same old. I didn't find the puzzles too difficult and that makes it more enjoyable when there isn't frustration. I have enjoyed the puppet series and I don't have suggestions for the storyline but this seemed old and boring. I only played the demo so maybe the story gets more exciting later on, but will wait for the SE. I guess after playing Chimeras, this story seemed flat and I was disappointed but it would be worth the purchase. March 28, 2013
Good Game I hear this is the end of the puppet show series? This installment is good yet I have grown bored of the same series. I give it a 4 fins since these devs are one of the tops. Always engaging yet it feels like a continuation with nothing new to hold attention. Music was too repetative , It has had a good run yet something new could have helped. For those just starting the series this is a good one to get to know the series. I am looking forward to seeing a new story line soon. March 29, 2013
