Enchantia: Wrath of the Phoenix Queen 4.1 5 57 57
Very pretty, not great gameplay. Although this game is great to look at, it is rather tedious to play. Unless you sit down and play this all at once, you forget what you were supposed to be doing and it can be difficult to figure out what your supposed to do. There is a lot of backtracking and the map is not helpful. May 5, 2013
Not all it is cracked up to be! Sorry, but I will no longer go by what the key contributors scores are. This game is three stars at best. Visuals good, but over the top. Some of the games are good, but others were not interesting. If you play a lot of hidden object and adventure games; this game will bore you. I kept falling asleep trying to play it. Too much back and forth and uninteresting nonsense items to gather and place. Not impressed. March 31, 2013
darker than I would have liked Based on recently finished SE game, normal difficulty (but only use hints as a last resort). I like these games that jump from world to world and have no map, it's more challenging. The mini-games had a wide range of difficulty. These and the HOGs were pretty well balanced, except in the final stretch -- it does give a sense of urgency, though, to have to run around and find a whole bunch of things in a whole lot of places quickly. As in other BTG I've played, both logic and intuition are needed. I liked the complexity of the gameplay. The graphics are, of course, beautiful. Cut scenes start out being blurry, but I've grown to appreciate that, as it reflects the disorientation one would feel if truly thrust into a completely new world. This game was generally well-voiced, by good actors. However (not a spoiler, I hope): unresolved moral ambiguity made for a rather unpleasant game. Near the end of the game, players are abruptly forced to choose between options that turn out to be equally horrible. This game would be rated PG if it was a movie. The end...let's just say I was dissatisfied with it. I suppose the CE enables the player to visit ALL the worlds left over on the map. After finishing the SE, I have no desire to do so. Not bad but not great This game is visually appealing, good music, the controls sometimes act a bit twitchy but the story is predictable from the start and the puzzles aren't exactly a challenge. Could be better so I'd wait for a sale if I were you. April 8, 2013
Enchantia left me feeling morally bankrupt I may have been better off playing this when purchased rather than over a year later. Although I gave this game my highest rating when demoed in April, 2013, I am hard-pressed to not give it a failing grade after completing it. Although I could do PROS and CONS, it seemed that even the PROS had some negatives associated with them. ? Although on the short side, I consider any game that lasts at least as long as a good movie worth the ?price of admission? so this gets a plus vote on that count. ? Scenes are beautiful and colorful and fractured objects are my favorite type of HOG. That is what originally drew me to purchase the game. However, I thought the hidden object scenes were less crisp and at least in the beginning leaned toward too many browns and oranges? not my favorite colors. ? Although I felt the voice acting was excellent, it was much too slow. I turned the SOUND volume all the way down and just read the dialogs? leaves a lot to be desired. ? Navigation was very confusing. Perhaps because there was too much backtracking through more than one or two scenes for one item at a time. ? I found the map more of a hindrance than a help except that it is impossible to go from one region to another without it. Very rarely was there a STAR (area of interest) on the map and very often, especially toward the end of the game, the DESTINATION that was indicated was incorrect. It became necessary to just click each area and then try the HINT button to see if I was in the right region. ? Game play seemed illogical to me and I used the HINT button way too much to find out where to go next. ? Most of the puzzles were skipped because I found them too boring and tedious. ? With no journal to track information, all of the ?notes? remained active so it was next to impossible not to open at least some of them more than once. ? But my biggest complaint with the game was the moral choice that needed to be made toward the end of the game? very depressing. Definitely try before you buy but even that may not be a good enough indication of whether Enchantia is worth the price. July 12, 2014
Too much glitter not enough thought From the beginning, I did not like the graphics - too artsy for my liking. The story was too much fantasy. The hidden object scenes were not very good - you had to find gold filigree ornaments that assembled themselves once you collected all the pieces. I am not a big fan of vengeful queens. Better luck next time developers. February 10, 2014
What a waste of money! Just boring, meaningsless game.. sorry I hate it! March 28, 2013
